Great facilities but sometimes staff don't clean in a timely manner and nursing type care is sometimes less than optimal.

My parents lived on the Assisted side a little over a year. Dad moved to Skilled Nursing after mom passed, when he needed more care. I'd rank Brighton 70-75th%. The AL side is aesthetically nicer (especially the common areas); the care was a mixed bag. Also, there are few truly handicapped rooms/bathrooms on the Assisted side. These things (unfortunately) contributed to dad's many falls. The care is better in Skilled Nursing (as one would expect), but this side is not kept as clean, and some things are in disrepair. That said, no place is perfect, and overall my sister and I are satisfied with this community. Most of the employees seem dedicated and caring, and they have become a strong support network for us. Recognizing VERY few communities will rank 80-95% in satisfaction, I WOULD recommend Brighton Gardens of Edison to others.

I have lived in a cottage in Independent Living at The Colonnades for almost 7 years. It is a great place to call home. I have made many new friends and connected with a few friends from my past. The staff and residents have been very welcoming and I feel comfortable living in this community. The location is great. Shopping, banking, medical center and entertainment are very easy to access. If you don’t drive, the Transportation team will take you where you need to go. And if the time comes when extra care is needed, there is a Health Center that offers Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing floor and a Memory unit. A few years ago, I was a patient in Skilled Nursing and received excellent care from the staff there. Coming to the Colonnades was a good decision for me. I am happy not to have a house to care for anymore. Living in this beautiful and friendly community and enjoying all the services that are offered has been a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it.

We picked this community because it was, friendly, long-lasting staff, and caring. Also, the price. I would recommend to others.

We selected it for its location and smaller size. When we were there, the residents seemed happy and friendly to us and each other. We were quite pleased. Communication with staff was good.We were relieved that our mother was out of her home and well cared for. It gave us a peaceful feeling that she was not alone.

I felt happy with my mother's care and the sincerity of the caretakers. When I first walked in I knew it was the one and needed to look no more. It had a safe and homey feeling.I want to empathize that meal time is something everyone can look forward to enjoying even if little else is available to them. The food was very disappointing and below average. I took occasional meals with my mom so had an opportunity to experience it first hand.

Wonderful staff, a little expensive, great food. Decent communication.

They are just super friendly and everyone is always smiling :) The activities director is awesome. The reason I give them a three is because one they only allow one hour for the first seating to actually get in, sit down, place their order, get fed, and I have to be out for the second seating. They really need to extend the first seating by at least 15 minutes because their residents are very rushed to eat. I also give them a three because their portions are very small, but the quality of the food is good

Jefferson is an excellent facility in a very convenient location. Restaurants, shopping, healthcare all within walking distance. Many activities on-site as ell as frequent trips to museums, concerts, etc. Costs have been increasing, but I think that is the case with most full service facilities.

The staff are very good, we are happy with Brighton Gardens and would recommend them to others. But getting in touch with staff or responses about medical and prescription questions, not so great.

My parents are residents at Sunrise of Dix Hills and overall we have been very pleased. The cleanliness has seen a huge improvement from when they first arrived. Staff is right on top of any 'accidents.' The staff is very welcoming. The ladies at the front desk are very welcoming, as well. Communication is top notch, especially in regards to my father. [Name removed] is very caring and communicates well with me in regards to both of my parents. The staff is very accommodating when I need help with my parents. The therapist, PT and nursing staff have been very supportive as well. The aide in REM has been very helpful. Also, a gentleman that does deep cleaning of the rooms (rugs, bathrooms, etc) is very much appreciated. The food in REM doesn't look very appetizing. When we go to the bistro it's much better. They are in desperate need of an Activities Coordinator. Since [name removed] left (which has been quite awhile), there is lack of physical engagement. There were always noodles swatting at balloons, songs being sung, fun being had etc. We need someone asap to stimulate the residents. It is extremely expensive paying for two residents. I know my parents are safe and their needs are being met. It's just a lot of money. My recommendations would be an activity coordinator that engages the residents throughout the day. I have not been happy about that and have spoken to [name removed] numerous times. She has explained how difficult it is to find the right candidate. Hopefully that will be resolved. Also the food in REM could be better.

Like any place, some of the staff are great while others are mediocre. it's the inconsistency that prevents me from giving them a five overall. As far as activities go, it seems that they are often late to start and go longer than scheduled, impacting the next event.

They are concerned for the people they service. Always saying hello, checking if residents want to do activities, asking how residents and families are doing. It's a close and friendly community.We picked this place for mother because it's pretty, light and airy, the apartments are well laid out, the hallways are wide so there is enough room for three or four wheelchairs across. We tried the food, and liked it. We saw all the activities, and the friendliness of the people.

I would recommend, but like most places they have a staffing issue that needs to be addressed. I picked this community because of the location.

The management staff has worked diligently and compassionately to discover solutions and make plans to accommodate my husband's specific needs. Other facilities didn't come close to the commitment that Sunrise has for his best care. I would definitely recommend this facility.

My loved one and I are adjusting to the facility but the staff could not be more helpful. They have addressed my concerns and answered my questions. The placement process is a difficult one for our family but both A Place for Mom and Sunrise have successfully navigated us through it.

Sunrise of Old Tappan has been relatively easy to work with so far! At this point, I would recommend them to others. It's a bit early to give a recommendation. However, I had a loved one that was there two years ago and we were happy with her care, so we returned for another loved one. Time will tell if things are the same or not.

When I was visiting retirement communities I was struck by the obvious friendly interactions I saw at The Colonnades. This sense of warmth and community led me to move in eight months ago. I am happy to say that I am now a part of this warmth and interaction, attending activities and classes and when the season allowed, gardening in my raised garden bed aside fellow gardeners. Beginning with the marketing person who guided me through my entry with such care, the staff is upbeat and has our interests at heart. The only weak spot, for me, was the dining experience as there was not at that time a hostess and seating myself at a table with strangers was daunting. I provided feedback and have noticed that an effort is being made to correct the situation. In the months I have lived here I have made many new friends. I have never passed a person on one of the halls that a friendly greeting has not been forthcoming. Indeed, I am grateful for my new home with its vibrant community.

We moved our loved one to Sunrise of Randolph community and it's been wonderful. We have a had a wonderful experience in Randolph. The staff is fantastic and it's resident focused. The activities get a 10!

the communication is very lacking, also they need to update furniture or at least clean it. My sister caught Covid since she has been there. Value of cost a little to high for what we are getting. At the moment we would maybe recommend the Sunrise of Providence community to other families.
