Sunrise Senior Living

Sunrise was lovely and could be a good option in the future, but my sister doesn't feel ready to make a move to senior living yet. She still wants to be in her own place, but I appreciate the time and information and curtesy I received while visiting.

There are more affordable facilities but this one was closest to my house. The pricing is confusing. The med management is pricey and confusing. She's in a double with a roommate. Rooms are nice

Good food and large variety. Friendly and helpful staff. I especially like my corner room with windows on two sides and south facing. Energetic and creative activities director. Active resident leaders who publish a comprehensive newsletter. Great walking track. Many interesting residents. Love the underground parking.

The caregivers and nursing staff are very personal and excellent. The food is excellent. Like most assisted living and retirement places it's hard to find enough staff and keep them. When my mom died at age 96 everyone was very compassionate and caring.

Sunrise has not had an activities coordinator in place since July. The quality of the programming has degraded, and they stopped giving personal updates about loved ones through their app. Staff also is unable to provide info about the frequency of registered visitors to my loved one, or the number of times that my loved one signs out to leave the property with friends.

Good staff, communications not always consistent but overall good experience.

It is very homey and cozy. Not new, but well maintained. Small rooms. Staff is the best! Close to lots of shops and library- very walkable. Food is fine. Lots of activities going on.

The friendliness is a 5 (especially the café workers and the people that took care of my mom). The staff is a 3 because of staff changes, charge for providing medicine. The room was not cheap, but the cost to provide medicine was ridiculous. Activities - I don't remember much. One thing that was nice was family brunch once a month. New place has more activities. Yes, we would recommend Sunrise of Naperville to other families.

They are very responsive and accommodating. Rooms are a bit tight but we made it work. I would recommend them to others who are searching for a place for their loved one.

The facility has much to offer for all residents with any level of functionality. The staff were fantastic from top to bottom. Very accessible, accommodating, quick to deal with the issues all with a great attitude.

The staff was very attentive. The rooms were a nice size and kept clean. Daddy received good care while he was there.

My brother and I recently visited a couple of Assisted Living Communities for our mom. At one of them, we were warmly greeted by a kind lady with a welcoming smile. She explained everything clearly and thoroughly, patiently answering all of our questions before guiding us on a tour of the facility. At the end of the visit, we were pleasantly surprised with a thoughtful gift basket. Overall, the experience was both informative and very helpful.

It seems like a beautiful place and that everything is taken care of. There’s a lot of options here. Pricewise it’s on the high end. At this time, there is not the correct room size available for my mother.

The community of residents is quite friendly and welcoming as is the staff. The food has definitely gone down hill since the main chef, [name removed], has gone on medical leave for [date removed]! My experience so far has been: Very friendly staff and residents and nice clean, updated facility but I'm wondering about the quality of the house cleaning service. I haven't been here long enough, less than a month, to have had it done. The food definitely took a dive when the main chef left for medical leave. He was very good. The second chef needs to get it together. Some of the sales staff is a bit too quick to exaggerate price breaks and apartment upgrades when selling to prospective residents. Otherwise, everything has been generally good here.

The ambience of Fountain Square upon entering felt like my dad. The location is perfect relative to his familiar surroundings as well as being so close to where my mom is currently living in a Memory Care Establishment. It is also close to other restaurants and shopping. Apartments are small, and we were not impressed with the raised coil electric range. However, he will not be cooking, so it’s not a huge deal. It had nice dining options. Staff appeared friendly and residents seemed happy.

Overall experience was positive; staff was great and the room was clean and more than adequate in size. Staff kept me informed about what was going on, even if it was hard news; mom liked the activities and the "have it anytime" menu.

Issues with scheduling weekly laundry and showers. Unable to accommodate a shower if you miss your scheduled day. You have to wait until the following week. Some aides are not as accommodating to the needs of the residents. A rate increase of 11% for 2026 seems excessive. Studio apartment are small. Activities are repetitive. Food selection is limited. Dining room experience is ok.

Mom was only there 2 months. Mostly was happy with the service. My only concern was right before she died. She somehow fell, and was told she was going to hospital for a "scratch" then not. Probably because of hospice. However when we got ther on Monday she was still in her same clothes and we could not wake her. Her scratch was more than than a scratch She passed on monday nite. No one even told us anything about her condition and why they upped her morphine and lorazipan. Communication was very poor in what was her final hours and died without family.

They current staff (specifically the chef) goes above and beyond to help and support. There doesn't seem to help open slots to play games during the calendar time slot- or that's how she perceives it. So improvement would be to make groups easier for new residents to join.

The serving staff, such as the receptionist cleaning, and general day to day people are good. They strive to help, learn about the resident and truly seem to care. Not that senior management doesn't but they just seem a little aloof and take recommendations, but I have not seen many of them implemented. Dad says the food is OK, once in a while we complains that they haven't had anything good for a couple of days. I encourage him to ask for something specific that he wants on those days, but he says they do not allow for that, which I am not sure about. Again, the wait staff and cafeteria staff are very attentive and work quite hard. We are satisfied with his room size. The living area is nice. We have a small dining table in there, the kitchen area is quite sufficient, and the bedroom is nice where we have his desk and computer. I note a lot of activities offered, and encourage dad to take part in them which he occasionally does. He very much likes to get into the van and go on shopping trips to the local stores.
