Sunrise Senior Living

The sales director was a very pleasant hostess for this facility. She did a virtual tour for me so I could get a good idea about the apartments. There is a lot of variety and pricing is at the lower end of average. The kitchens have no stoves although there is access to a fully equipped kitchen for the whole community. It is a nice “middle of the road” community.

Because we are looking for short term care (2 months) having to pay an extra months rent as maintenance is a little much to pay out. I still consider this facility a possibility as it was very pretty and seemed well equipped

I'm writing this for my cousin who is located in the independent wing of sunrise. It's taken her 2 months to get used to the place. She's starting to become more self sufficient in dealing with transportation. The food is good and various people check in on her daily to see if she had breakfast or lunch. Her unit is small and clean.

My mom just got to Sunrise [date removed]. She was in the hospital and rehab previously. I am not up there, I'm down in Florida. So I could give you feedback based on things family members are telling me, but I don't have any real personal experience. Overall, it seems like a fantastic place, but like I said, I can't really give you firsthand knowledge or observations of because I'm not there.

The facility is clean and most of the staff has been there for many years. They are caring and friendly.

Please understand I am not a resident of Brighton. I go there twice daily to feed my wife who has been in memory care for a year and 9 months. Overall, the memory care staff is outstanding (5). The only weakness in memory care has been the manager as there has been three in the 21 months my wife has been there. The first manager was excellent, the second one unsatisfactory, and the third one has been on the job a month. First impression is quite good. Housekeeping is very good and her private room is well kept. Since her foods are all puréed, it would be unfair to give a food score. It seems balanced from a nutritional standpoint. The activity schedule is quite good and varied. My biggest complement I have is the outstanding COMPASSIONATE care my wife gets from the memory care ladies. It means the world to me. From a value standpoint, Brighton Gardens is overpriced. My monthly bill is $[removed]. Thankful I have an excellent long term care policy.

What we like the most about the community is their caring staff and we would recommend Brighton Gardens to other families based on the experience.

Meals and dining is a 3 but only based on my lunch on move-in day. They make a good effort to include memory care residents with asst living folks. Van outings are good-- even a trip to Legal Seafood for lunch. Room size bigger, companion suite rent is lower. Costs configured daily thus more transparency. Smile App allows ongoing checking in to see loved one participating in activities. Yes, I would recommend it. For me it was a choice among three: Adelaide, Sunrise, Rogerson. Adelaide lively but about [Amount Removed]per month; Rogerson well-run with two tiered memory care, not as expensive but rather old facility; and Sunrise which at the present time is about [Amount Removed] monthly.

I would recommend the care givers and staff were very good. The cable was not ready when she admitted and they had 2 billing accounts because she discharged from prev facility a week later than expected. Like all communities or facilities they tend to lean toward the wheel chair vs the walker for those not as stable but they made sure she sat upright after each meal to digest and encouraged activities, crafts.

It's a lovely community, Clean, employees are lovely. I would say what's important for someone to understand is that it's not one to one care. Not that they advertise it as such but as a newcomer to this world, we did not really understand that.

The sales team may have exaggerated the extent of staffing coverage during the tour. After placing our loved one, we had to supplement the staffing to address our concerns.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only issue I have now is regarding the bill, waiting for clarification on the level of care for her final month. The response on the food is based on my mom's feedback. I only ate there once and the food was good.

Toured the facility. Tour began with detailed explanation of how charges are calculated. This is a detailed and open process - very impressive, though I would like to go thru it again to make sure I understand. The physical facility is currently undergoing re-habilitation - plaster, paint, etc. I would like to see it again when that work is complete.

Friendly welcome. facility appears nice, tidy. Residents are moving about and congenial. Staff are helpful in making our way through the process of applying.

Staff is great, very caring. My mom really likes the food. We've had a couple of mix-ups on the meds. Apartments definitely need a remodel. And the chairs, glasses and silverware in the dining room are way to heavy for frail old people. Staff is friendly and kind. Community has a warm and caring feel to it. I think because it's small and not one of those sprawling communities.

Friendly people. Below explanation with communication with staff. Phone calls & emails are often not returned or take several days. My mom feels comfortable & safe. She enjoys the meals & some of the activities. Wish there were more activities available.

my aunt who was living at Sunrise just recently passed away. The Sunrise memory care unit did a great job of taking care of my aunt during her 2 years at the facility! Very caring team of people. I would recommend the community to others

I met with [name removed]. She was wonderful and answered all of my questions. She was very caring and compassionate. The dining room and sitting room áreas were very nice. The only issue my family had was that Brighton is not Medicaid approved.

The attentive nursing staff was the best and really helped me navigate and learn what [name removed] needed. Dining room mechanics (sooo much waiting) could be improved. [name removed] moved to memory care at [community removed] at the end of dec. No news available in Fair Oaks. Give us a couple of months there and I can review them too.
