Rooms in memory care were generous in size. Food well prepared. I would recommend for someone going into the regular resident part. More planned activities. Kitchenettes are nice.

It is very expensive so i would expect top notch on all categories. Overall the facility is clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Care seems to be appropriate for my Aunt. Although i have not actually eaten at the facility I have had several complaints from my Aunt regarding the quality of the food as well as variety. I understand there are multiple residents but many times she chooses a sandwich once told what is being served Regarding activities they do provide opportunities for outings which is a wonderful thing but when a person is excited to get out and the activity is canceled at the last moment this is not good. This has happened more than once. Outside of the facility events are very important especially to someone who has no mobility and relies on others (wheelchair)

Originally we were looking for assisted living, and choosing based on price, the size of rooms & availability of outdoor space. However, our loved one went directly to memory care which we were not considering at the time. Staff are very kind & caring. There has been very little turnover in the past year.

Very well run, staff is on their game - from admin to care professionals. Activities are engaging. Room size is moderate but sufficient. I would add: probably the priciest of the options we considered, some minor annoyance at nickel/dime (eg "your mom needs Tylenol - you can get some and bring it to her or we can give her 2 pills for $[fee removed])

There are two levels of memory care. Rooms are the same size at every level of care. For example, the studio rooms in memory care are as roomy as the ones in assisted living.

overall Sunrise has been great to us. So friendly and welcoming and responsive. The care has been good but my mom falls a lot and I feel like they don't check in as much as they could. Maybe that's asking too much. My mom has said the staff is bossy and I think they could be more compassionate. Though it's a hard industry I know. She came from having a one-on-one aide so this could just be an adjustment to a facility. I will say the billing department has been horrible. We've had to check and correct every bill. And they have been unable to give us a correct statement that I can submit to LTC. It's really bad. The care for the money is pretty good - but their billing is chaotic. The serving staff in the dining room is really lovely. The food is okay not great. The activities aren't much - they don't look well attended. But they try to do more than just bingo. Their exercise class is putting them in chairs not meant for exercise in front of a tv video. But all in all I feel like my parents are safe, well attended, the staff is friendly to them and to me and they seem to really care.

It's a small place and you don't get lost in the crowd. They need more men.

Most memory care facilities that I looked at had a locked gated outdoor courtyard for residents to freely go in and out of. Sunrise doesn't offer that. Memory care residents can only go outside when accompanied by a staff member or resident's family member. Staff members are mostly busy with regular tasks or scheduled activities and are rarely able to accommodate the residents' requests to simply sit outside for awhile. This simple freedom would be a low cost great way to treat memory care residents with more respect. If/when my time comes to need a senior living facility (assisted living or memory care) , I would like to live at a Sunrise facility.

They all have compassion. That is worth a lot during a stressful time. In general I have a very high opinion of Sunrise Chevy Chase and recommend it highly.

A few staff very familiar with wife's habits! Yes, I would recommend this community to other families! Moved 3 times and we're here for the duration. They don't put up with shenanigans either!

Lines of communication could be more clear. Chose this facility over others because of the atmosphere and proximity. They could improve the introduction orientation.

The only comment that I would make is if the person is coming from another facility someone from sunrise should physically go and evaluate that person before they bring them on board to make sure it's the right fit for them,. I would recommend Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake to others.

Most staff are here 9am-5pm. Front desk is staffed 11:30am-7:00 pm. Residents watch out for each other. Location within Albuquerque is handy for appointments. Van transportation (with wheelchair lift) is available Tuesday to Thursday.

My mom needed a lot of assistance which was promised as no problem ( of course we paid for it) . Everyone helpful and friendly while enrolling and moving in . Once there we wished staff was more attentive and did a better job establishing relationships with other residents and giving her a sense of belonging and security. My mom probably needed a nursing facility instead.

I like the community's location, the staff's attention to my family members, the way they dispense and monitor medications, the activities available on a daily basis, and the regularly provided square meals. The staff was helpful and friendly during my visits.

So far so good. My mom has been there for a few weeks and had only reported positive experience. It's a little unclear what services are available is the only less than positive comment that she 's made but when she has asked for things they've been very helpful. She says the chairs in the TV movie viewing area are uncomfortable...

Sunrise of Chevy Chase is a beautifully decorated, clean facility. It is a comfortable although it could use larger/more elevators. The staff are very friendly towards each other, their clients, families & guests. Although without much variety, a core group of residents enjoy the activities led by an enthusiastic crew. More cultural field trips & stimulating activities would be a plus. The Friday live music happy hour is a hit with varied & good talent! The dining room could run more smoothly with a little more organization/training of the staff. Staff work at both the dining room & caregiving, so they know the preferences and quirks of their clients. Unfortunately, the food gets mixed up , forgotten, or delayed. Water is not served at the table unless asked for and the food is bland, but my mother enjoys it! Medical check-in was run very roughly, but now my Mom has settled into a routine. Very warm vibes here from the get-go! Two thumbs up!

My mom loves the place and all of the amenities. Even though she is turning 91 this week, she likes to stay occupied. There are plenty of activities for her to choose. She also likes to go out on the trips for lunch etc.

Our loved one has been there now for a couple of months. It's very organized, the people are very responsive, the activities are great, and the food is wonderful. Sunrise is very organized. They are staffed well, and their employees are very responsive. The food is good, the activities are fun, and they seem to really care about the residents

The staff are very kind and have more positive attitudes than many places, which is nice for everyone. Some staff members would benefit from more training for particular aspects of elder care (e.g., basic use of oxygen, hearing aid recharging, transfers) but management has been responsive to these suggestions.
