Sunrise Senior Living

It's a nice place to live. The food isn't consistent. The care is pretty good. The activities are awesome and the apartment size is good. I have a lot of stuff, so I fill up the apartment.

I think the staff were great, it always appeared clean and the food was good. I think my mother-in-law's biggest challenge was feeling that many of the residents had lower cognitive function, and perhaps activities reflected this. However, this may have been my mother-in-law's overall negativity, which may or may not have been accurate.

Staff is caring. The grounds are beautiful at Sunrise of Holbrook giving plenty of opportunity to go outside and enjoy the quiet setting. Food options are easily available for optional dining experience. Staff and facility treats all residents with dignity and engage with them. There are plenty of activities for those who wish to engage. Plenty of settings for visitations. Place is clean. I like that their is a primary physician and foot doctor that comes. It eliminates the need to take loved ones out in inclement whether especially those with limitations. I have recommended facility to others. Prior for needing care for my loved one I had visited other facilities because of people I knew and I think sunrise has one of the best caring teams.

For me it's the location, cost and [name removed]. My mom seems very happy there. She also said the food is very good. [name removed] made the process very easy.

All good. She has a huge apartment. She calls the second bedroom her dressing room. Lots of closet space that she insisted upon but really doesn't need. Food is good, staff efficient & attentive. She participates in some of the activities & seems fine. She doesn't rave with compliments but, more importantly, she doesn't complain. She doesn't think the hairdresser is as good as the one at the salon she went to before moving but goes every week.

Staff are amazing. I know there's a lot of work always to be done, so if there is a room need (e.g., fixing shower head or bathroom light motion sensor), it may just take time for it to be fixed. But resident support, care, and encouragement - all outstanding

I would recommend it! They do provide individual care which really reduces family stress. A 4 only because I think they can come up with more activities.

The problem my sister in law had with it was the food and servers. She didn't like the fact that her caregivers were also working in the kitchen .She is on a very strict diet and didn't believe they worked with her enough. The place was very clean and good activities. They also didn't have a full gym which she wanted.

The staff is very attentive and patient. They have helped my grandmother tremendously and I can tell she is physically healthier by being there.

My 1st impression of the facility was positive. It seemed updated and the residents more lively than other communities visited

The people at sunrise made us feel at home. They were also kind and attending to what we needed. I would recommend them to anyone. Thanks again.

I visited 7 assisted & memory care facilities in the Canton, Livonia, Plymouth area. Only 1 was totally unacceptable. Each of the others had their strengths. We decided on Sunrise of Northville, which is actually in Plymouth. Its strengths, 1) location is convenient (which is a very important consideration if you plan on interacting with the resident often. ) 2) friendliness, sounds trivial, but again, daily interactions with the staff need to be considered, and EVERYONE if extremely friendly and hospitable. 3) cleanliness & decor (fresh flowers weekly are nice) & security (one of the top places for these items) 4) food quality and menu. Most people don't want to eat the same food every day, we don't all want to eat at the same time. The menu is pretty good, and there is a nice flexibility in dining time. A minor dislike is the high price for visitors to pay for joining a resident for a meal. 5) room dimensions and layout are good, freshly painted, room furnishings are just minimalistic 6) there are no gym facilities which is a negative. They do have very basic exercise sessions daily, but these are geared to very physically limited people, which seem to make up the bulk of the population. They do have a P/T person at additional cost. Might be a good add to have a membership discount to a planet fitness? 7) there are scheduled activities almost all day long, but after 6 pm my sister complains there is nothing to do but watch tv. 8) personal care is good, there seem to be adequate employees, and each and every one is always helpful. The number 7 item, "nothing to do in the evening" seems to be a getting to be a significant issue for my sister.

Overall experience is a 4, they don't communicate much. The cleanliness is a 5, the place is new and well kept, no funky smells. Friendliness is a 5, they smile, call my mom by name, know her needs. Quality of care is probably a 5 as well, all her needs are addressed when I've called, she's taken care of from what can I can determine The staff would be hmmm 4.5, they respond when there is an issue, but only when there is a problem or I call them. The meals and dining is a 4.5 only due to the portions size being too big sometimes and not being able to choose sizes. For the or activities it would be a 4, too many of the clients seem to be parked on a chair not doing anything. The overall value for money...4 again, I'd like a personal update for what is being paid to know what's going on Would I recommend Sunrise at Bay Village to others? Yes

The staff especially in memory were outstanding! Very caring and compassionate.

The facility is very well maintained except for her elevator which I believe will be replaced soon- We really liked the look of the facility, the size of the facility, and it was a very good price. I will say that she got a [Amount Removed] a month raise this year which is a bit excessive. Mom complains about the food-- also would like more activities

I was well received, and given an honest appraisal of the facilities and its amenities. The facility is attractive. I’m the one that must make some decisions

Tour was good but very little activity seen by the people that reside on the premises. I only saw a few staff members on the tour. The moving in price/fee cost surprised me.

The staff seems pleasant but perhaps at times stretched too thin. Activities seem good just can't seem to get my mom involved though The food seems to have variety but not always hot temperature wise. Cleanliness is good and the room size is nice.

I enjoyed touring Sunrise North Hills. [Name Removed] was very knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions. It was an attractive community and seems to be a good fit for my my father.
