Sunrise Senior Living

These are my take on it with some of his comments. Overall, I think it's lovely, right? Unfortunately, he just wants to be in his own home. So he's not the happiest, but yeah, the facilities are nice. Most of the people are very nice. There's always a few that he doesn't get along with. anything. And I don't think he'll want his on it. I think the staff is all very friendly and stuff. But there's always some staff members that are less friendly than others. And the food for the most part is awesome. It just, i've heard that at certain times depending on who's cooking, the food's not always the best. But my cousin is a bit picky.

Very clean, staff very nice except for the occasional few. Food good. Couple times ran out of clean towels. Once misdiagnosed. Kind of expensive.

[name removed] the head of nursing is the BEST!!. Our loved one is picky but Overall great place. Expensive but going rate for Naperville. Yes! We would recommend this community to other families. One of the reasons we chose this place for my mother was because the residents genuinely seem to enjoy being there.

Love the staff. They know me (his daughter) and my dad my name and sight Cleanliness is ok. Dining my dad loves the food. He does not do any of the activities at this time. We do not like needing to pay $12 a meal when he can't come to breakfast because he has insomnia and does not sleep well at all. Its already a heavy cost to use assisted living.

I am impressed with the cleanliness. Not much interaction with the staff. Always welcoming though. Going with a 4 on meals and dining. MY Mom says lots of sausage is served. I am not there...could be wrong. But dinner g room is welcoming. I don't know the young man's name who helps setup tables -clear tables and serve but he is really nice and respectful. I am very pleased with the surroundings, cleanliness...interaction of staff. I know they have a very diverse group of people with different needs. The outdoor surroundings are beautiful. So far I am pleased.

Sunrise of Holbook's staff appears friendly and caring and they are also adequately staffed. The laundry is always done and promptly returned to the room. The major difference of Sunrise Assisted Living is their ability to give medical services and provide insulin injections. The nursing staff are very competent and reliable . The facility is clean and resident's are well taken care of. The food is apparently good. The only reason for a rating of 4 instead of 5 is because of my feelings that there is minimal activities. I do believe the age, physical and mental capabilities of the residents because of the need for medical attention limits their ability to participate and be more involved. They do attempt to go out on the bus once a week for a limited number.

These numbers represent a totality of my limited experience. The facility is bright and open. There are a couple of areas which could be repaired and/or cleaned up. The staff, with very few exceptions, are friendly and helpful. I have no way of knowing if my husband is receiving 3 showers a week as requested as he is not a reliable source of information. His grooming could use some care. The activities seem a little haphazard, but again, I visit only for a few hours every other day. With further communication and experience, I'm hoping that my evaluation improves. You can certainly say Sunrise is a bright and cheerful community, with a friendly and helpful staff.

Staff very friendly and caring. Food is excellent. Levels of care very expensive. Studio room exceptionally small. Only enough space for a twin bed.

Overall, Sunrise is a very nice long term facility for Assisted Living & for Memory Care. The facility is beautiful & nicely decorated. It looks like a big mansion from the outside & on the inside Assisted Living section (wide porch, lobby area, TV room, café & dining room). In the Memory Care locked down unit, the combined dining room/activities room is spacious & also nicely decorated. The gated garden is very safe, quiet, relaxing & feels like you are in a country setting with plenty of covered shaded seating. It's a nice area to sit with family, weather permitting. The bedrooms are a nice size, depending on which type of room is chosen. The food is mostly good with alternative choices. The care is excellent, with many staff members working there for several years. On the downside, Memory Care pricing with add ons (depending on medication level, etc.) is expensive. The online Auto Payment system including notification updates needs improvement.

Lots of activities. Care givers treat the parents very well! They seem to really care! This is one of the few places that accept both parents being at two different level of care. One needing skilled nursing and one just needing assisted living. Flip side they nickel and dime everything possible. Increased prices on level of care without discussion. Levels that weren't never brought up when we initially put the parents there. Communication is an item that they def need to work on.

Day & afternoon staff are a 5 they work well and speak well with residents and some even go above & beyond. Nurses on Day & afternoons are great. Nights need an extra hand a rover that can go to both floors if needed. The night staff may be assisting someone a little longer which leaves another resident waiting extra long time. Food is good and many activities for residents.

Staff is great in keeping residents engaged, helping them and keeping primary contacts informed. Just need a better system for keeping residents engaged with distant family members that cannot visit. We do appreciate what they do.

Staff wasn't really with it at check in. We had to bring her two days in a row and still they didn't have the right paperwork. [name removed] other son took her to the movies and didn't tell anyone that he was doing that. When they left there wasn't anyone at the front desk. It took them a few hours to realize that [name removed]was missing but they didn't a good job getting the police involved

The facility is small and homey. The staff knows all of the residents by name. Rooms are on the small side and could use some updating. They have lots of activities provided.

All has been real good there. The Staff are very much on there skills in helping guests , and from what I have seen do treat them as guests . My Daughter is one of there guests.

The very real friendliness and attention to the patient and family

We are happy with the nursing staff, cleanliness of the community, friendliness and dining. While they have scheduled activities, it would be nice to see more activities that involve all the residents. Also, personalized care needs should have more attention.

I'd recommend a visit to get an idea of their place, room size, get an idea of costs which depend on the client capabilities, and what rooms are available which may be limited. They only had one room available when we first started looking. 4 for amenities, food, services and staffing, but at a high cost along with additional costs based on client capabilities.

They recently transferred my mom to a new room and the move was very smooth. They have a good system in place. Prices have increased but that is everywhere I'm afraid. My mother is doing well, having been there a year now. She has made friends and it is definitely a plus that they allowed her to bring her cat with her.

Overall, we're happy with the care. The facilities are nice. I wish there was less staff turnover. We also feel that the 3rd floor memory unit gets fussed over less than the first floor residents too. There's always more of a party atmosphere on the 1st floor
