Im so thankful our mom is at Sunrise in Huntington. Everyone is so loving, kind, patient and supportive. I am out of state and I’m very happy with the communication and important updates I receive and how easy it’s been for me to reach people in charge there. They are generous with their time and knowledge. I really appreciate. The peace of mind this gives me knowing my mom is in great hands is priceless.

While checking out care facilities for my mother I was immediately struck by the atmosphere when I entered Sunrise. It was like entering a gracious home. A receptionist was at a desk and a large white dog was sleeping on the floor next to her. Turns out he is their “guardian “ who provides love and a tail wag to the patients. It was a pleasant surprise to not feel like entering an institutional building again. Sunrise only serves people who need Assisted Living or Memory Care. Most are elderly. My mother is on the Memory Care floor which also reflects the warmth of downstairs. I visit everyday at various times. The patients always are up and dressed in street clothes. They dine in the dining room for meals and throughout the day have various activities from therapy and condition related to games, movies and socialization. The staff ratio to patient is high and always cheerful. Her room is comfortable and we were able to set up her own furniture, pictures etc. She is well cared for.

From day one, my friend was comfortable at Sunrise of North Lynbrook. By week three she loves it! The staff, regardless of title, are friendly and more than willing to help her acclimate. She loves the food! Sunrise of North Lynbrook is the perfect fit.

Large rooms with excellent balcony. Remodeled bathroom with large shower and heat lamp. Lots of kitchen space with refrigerator and four burner range. Tasty food, friendly residents. Laundry and cleaning services provided at small extra charge— washer and dryer just two doors down for self service.

sunrise of Westtown has been extremely helpful with selecting a new community for my friend. The place is clean and surrounded by friendly residents. The rooms are nicely updated and clean. There was one repair we asked for and they said it would be done immediately.

The administration at Varenita and many of the caregivers as well as those at the front desk greet me by name. I will just say you get what you pay for.

5 for all! We've been thrilled with the level of care and attention. Couldn't be happier. It's not cheap but worth every cent. My mother-in-law was at the end stage of her Parkinson's when we moved my in-laws to Sunrise, so she passed about 6 months after arrival (my father-in-law is still there). Her disease and death were a horrible situation, but they were such great partners in that process. We felt her passing was peaceful and with so much LOVE! The love, care and compassion is something I will never forget.

Some of the caretakers that have assisted my mom have gone over and above, giving her kindness while they're on shift the number one caregiver is [name removed] she is an amazing caregiver!!!!!!!Some of the other individuals, truly pour their hearts into their residence and my mom, so appreciates the love and kindness from them. The quality of the food is good, but it's the variety of the food. I pay extra because my mom after having her stroke is very very limited to the use of the right side of her body) otherwise it is my opinion that if my mom did not need the extra assisted care that the value of money spent for the facility would be spot on. And I would recommend this facility to anybody that would have a need !!!!!!

I answered N/A for the care services, because [name removed] resides in independent housing, not assisted living. I answered 4 for number value for cost, because there isn't an opportunity to opt out of the included meals and [name removed] prefers to fix his own meals in his apartment, and rarely eats the meals provided. My answer to the value for cost, would also be a (5) if there was an option for a price with and without a meal plan. Overall[name removed] is happy at Sunrise.

My dad was living independently until he fell, and we were all concerned about what he would be like during and after the process of moving him into assisted living. Fox Hill was the only place we felt gave him a quality of life that he deserved. The entire facility seems like a nice hotel more than a care-home. The staff is extremely attentive and the apartments and facilities are great! Most surprising of all, he is much happier than he was by himself, a positive surprise for all who know him! I never thought I would say this but, as I was leaving Fox Hill on my last visit, I told my sister and aunt that, even if we knew he'd be safe, I wouldn't want to move dad back to his apartment because of how much happier he seems. I feel so so so fortunate to have him there.

In interviews with prospective care facilities, I asked employees how long they had worked in their current facility. Length of employment at a singular facility is usually very positive sign of employee satisfaction.

Sunrise of Orange provided exceptional care for my husband during a very difficult time in his life. As his health declined, the entire team at Sunrise treated him with the utmost respect, dignity, and compassion. The level of professionalism and quality we experienced as a family was outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was not only knowledgeable, but also genuinely warm and caring. I am deeply grateful that my husband’s final days were spent in such a supportive and loving environment. I couldn’t be more thankful to Sunrise of Orange for the peace and comfort they brought to both him and our family.

The nursing staff was simply amazing! From the moment we arrived, we felt so comfortable. My dad immediately took a turn for the worse and only ended up being there for 2 weeks before he passed, but they made sure we had everything we needed, 24/7. I can't say enough great things about them.

The staff is very kind to the residents. Treat them like family. Social life and activities are well thought out and Sunrise tries to be not repetitious. Happy hour every day at 3pm. Many functions that include family. Grounds are beautiful.

Everybody there, to a person, has been exceedingly kind, capable, professional & caring. It has been perfect for moms needs!

I'd give a "5" on all points! My mother initially had reservations about moving out of her condo, but I love the fact that there is no need to be "lonely "as residents can always leave their rooms, go out into the lobby or find something to do to engage with other people! Staff is very friendly and approachable-love the large dining room w big windows! Makes you feel like you're in a restaurant!!!

Everyone at Sunrise is very friendly and supportive of the care of my mom. They interact and got to know my mom and my family as well. They keep me informed of any issues. The staff seems to always have smiles on their faces and try to keep activities going throughout the day. When my mom needs assistance she just has to push a call button and someone comes to check on her in a timely manner. The keep my moms rom clean including the bathroom and the meals they serve seem to be pretty good.

My low evaluation score in the medical field is due to the Nursing Department being completely disorganized. They insisted that I pick up my mothers diabetic testing strips from a pharmacy about 25 miles away from my home. Their rationale was that some relatives lived in other parts of Jersey and had to travel to South Plainfield. In addition, they did not inform the doctor that they were testing her four times a day instead of the two times they were testing. Therefore, I had to pay additional money out of my pocket because the prescription indicated twice daily. It appears that the test strips may had been used for other residents. I purchased 300 test strips, and a month later, I was informed that she was running out and needed to buy more. When I told the staff member I had just purchased the 300 strips, there was a brief memory lapse. Each time she went to the hospital, her sugar levels were normal. Each time my mother went to the hospital, they checked thoroughly, which meant my mother was stuck and probed. Needles are in the arm, and the catheter is inserted into her fragile body. My mother suffered from being sent to the hospital over 10 times within 9 months

Have your loved one assessed before making a decision. Friendly staff, but when living in a different time zone, communication can be a challenge. Get emails and voice numbers and make sure they agree to form of communication.
