Sunrise Senior Living

Bear Canyon Estates is the right place for my dad. The food is very very good. The staff are friendly and they have recently had a change in management and it has improved the community. The community is clean, well maintained and I would recommend it.

I cannot say anything negative about this community. I would recommend it. The staff are very good and Russell was a great help when getting her moved into her apartment. The food is really good and the dining room staff are great. The activities are personalized and she was able to make bran muffins. I spoke to a resident during our tour and they said they would not change a thing about the community and I agree.

Sunrise is an outstanding facility. While activities are certainly coordinated, the scheduling of additional monthly outings would be appreciated. The staff is always open to suggestions which is fantastic. Thanks to everyone!!!

Staff have been very kind and attentive to Mom's needs. Nursing and management have responded promptly to my questions and suggestions.

Everything is working out pretty well for my daughter and her husband at this community. They are still getting adjusted, but they seem satisfied with everything. The community looks nice, it is kept very nice and clean. The staff is very good, they are always willing to help. They are participating in many activities. The food is nice, they enjoy the meals. Overall this is a community I would recommend.

I am very happy to be here! It has already been so good for me. I love not having to grocery shop! And I don't have to cook for myself. It is good to have three meals a day as I was not eating so well anymore on my own. I feel blessed to live in such a beautiful place. The people are so friendly and the management is very approachable and helpful. I really like the fact the there are two couples as managers and they live here. I feel safe here. The activities director plans many activities that are enjoyable and helpful to help both physically and mentally. I like that she plans for entertainment here in the building - I don't have to go to another building. And she takes us on jaunts om the van.

I cannot say enough about this community. My husband is doing well and the food is so good he has even gained weight. I have taken to eating there almost daily as well. His independent caregiver Jill is excellent and they get along so well. The staff are so nice and they cannot do enough for you.

Sunrise of Buffalo Grove caters to a aging senior population in a very small community setting. Mom is 93 years old and was not looking for a community that provides a multitude of activities and trips geared for baby-boomers. She also didn't want to just sit in her apartment. Sunrise provides age appropriate activities throughout the day with a social hour every afternoon. Sunrise welcomes you in and provides a home-like atmosphere with a parlor for playing games or watching TV and a dining room with a chef that prepares meals geared to the individual resident tastes. There is a spacious sitting area and activity room on the second floor and hallways to the resident apartments are short and lined with memorabilia. The entire Sunrise staff and caregivers works together to make sure the needs of each resident are met. Mom says living at Sunrise is like being on a cruise.

LIked it a lot. So far it is a toss up with Brookdale. Can I live there for a week to try it?

I will be moving my mom here soon. Very nice facility and very friendly staff.

My in laws are doing good at Bedford Court. My mother in law says the wait staff are terrific and they know what she wants. The food is good. They offer activities that we are hoping she will get more involved in. My father in law is in the nursing section and the staff are great and very attentive. The community is clean and I would recommend it.

The community felt "at home" as soon as I walked in the door. The layout is very homey rather than institutional. Cozy areas, fireplace, comfy chairs and a huge wrap around porch to enjoy all the greenery and gardens. The staff are warm and welcoming. It is small enough so that staff get to know all the residents in the community. I like that the residents pick and choose activities and have a say in the planning. This is a great place for my Mom.

I'm finding that the personnel at Sunrise Senior Living are going above & beyond for my husband's care. It's a lovely place & they're all so caring. Wanting what's best for Ken. They keep me well informed as to how they're caring for him too. Fine place.

Very pleased with Sunrise of Flossmoor. My Mom & Dad have been there for 2 weeks now. My Mom has dementia, but has improved physically already. My Dad was very reluctant to move out of his house, but is adjusting well. Food is excellent! Caregivers are friendly and accommodating. I visited three assisted living facilities in the area and this was the best one by far. Nice Victorian architecture in a woodsy setting. Only 40 to 45 residents. Feels very warm and inviting.

Mom seems to have settled in nicely. The staff has given her purpose and friendship, and she is happier than she has been in years. I am so grateful that we found these wonderful people.

I have my mother at this community and appreciate their kindness to older folks. It is a clean place and the staff are very friendly and engaging. They listen without interruption to my mother's sometimes longwinded stories. They offer many activities and, although she tends to be reluctant, encourage my mom to join a few. I have had several meals with mom and agree with her that the food is good. Every time I visit her she tells me about how friendly the people are there. Since it has been a positive experience I would recommended this place to anyone

Very attractive facility, modern and bright. Surprised that a recliner chair was not provided for the respite apartment, but otherwise impressive. Services are paid for individually according to a chart, so the "assisted living" status is not an issue. When I added up the charges for the care my mom would need, it came out within a few dollars of the per day charge at Brookdale.

My aunt is doing very well at this community. She has made many new friends and has adjusted very well to it. Everyone has been very friendly and kind to her. They are working on getting more because they are under staffed. It is a pretty clean community, but due to the fact they are under staffed it takes a while for the cleaning to get done. The staff is great, they have very positive attitudes. She stays very busy with all the activities they offer. The food is okay, they need more of a variety of food to choose from. Overall It is a nice community and I would recommend it.

My mother has been in Sunrise of Jacksonville for 2 months now. While it is still the adjustment period for her, we are so pleased with the Sunrise facility as a whole. The staff is exceedingly friendly and goes out of their way to be helpful. The facility is very clean, well decorated, easily accessible and cheerful. My mother comments on how good the meals are. The staff remembers her name, and everyone makes a point to say hello. It has been a huge adjustment, losing her husband and entering Sunrise the same week. We are very hopeful she will begin to participate in the many activities they offer daily and feel more like socializing very soon. I would recommend Sunrise of Jacksonville wholeheartedly. It is a smaller capacity facility and I think that makes a big difference in the personalized care and attention my mother is receiving. -Susan

My dad enjoyed his short 10 day respite care stay at Sunrise of Troy. Since he was only there for a short time he did not take part in any of the activities offered. I had a meal with him while he was there. The food was good and there was a variety of choices. The community is well maintained and the staff was great. I would definitely have him stay there again.
