Sunrise Senior Living

I would tell others that Sunrise is a great community. They are willing to accommodate and care for your loved one. I would recommend you make sure you follow up on requests. This is a community that long term illnesses won't automatically be taken care of.

The staff is very polite and helpful, and really balances the needs of the residence. My loved one's health has improved dramatically since moving in. The community is honest and treats the families well and will adjust pricing up and down based on the care needed. The food is wonderful and they have lots of options. The community is also pet-friendly. I would recommend this community to others.

We had an excellent tour, and then came back for a 2nd tour, this time with Mom. I appreciated that the woman who showed us around did it twice and spent plenty of time with us both times. I Liked it there and thought it was very nice. The residents were very nice and enthusiastic, and I didn't see anybody looking sour. We got to observe an exercise class going on in their community room, and it seemed accessible to residents with differing ability levels. The facility was very clean, and it was a smaller facility, so there was a little less walking to do to get around. In the end, we let my mother choose where she wanted to live. There was nothing concerning here. She just felt more instantly at home at a different community.

It was an immaculate and beautiful facility. They were extremely warm and personable when my loved one came to move in. Everyone on staff stood in the hallway and clapped for her, which was so nice. They were equally warm and professional with my sister and me. They allowed us in to decorate the room. When she passed away shortly after moving in, they handled everything efficiently and professionally. We felt like our loved one was never alone there. I have nothing but praise for them. Based on the experience we had In that short amount of time that she was there, I believe it would have continued to be a very positive experience had she had a longer stay. They may have only known our family for a short amount of time, but we got more than one call of condolence after she passed, and the staff spoke so wonderfully of our mom. The staff were just such super people.

Beautiful facility, professional staff, residents are visibly engaged and enthusiastic which is the strongest indicator for me of operational excellence. Considering as the top choice depending on how the situtation develops with my parents.

i'm just beginning my research for a retirement community for myself. I toured a 2BR apartment and a 2BR cottage. I liked them both but unfortunately they were out of my price range. I could have been happy in either one but my preference was for the cottage. Overall, Fairfax is a beautiful community.

Outstanding administration and caring community of nurses and staff. We love the smaller number or residents at Sunrise and the high nurse to resident ratio. Most of all my mother was sold when she learned that there is a wonderful resident dog and cat on the premises for residents to enjoy. We are very happy with Sunrise as our choice!

A very nice community. An onsite dog and cat for residents to visit is wonderful. It is clean, the menus awesome and feels very much like a home.

The ambiance is friendly and inviting, and it reminds me of a Victorian grand hotel. The rooms are well appointed, with multiple floorplans available. The staff is very friendly and includes the family as part of the loved one's care plan. The residents seem genuinely happy. The property grounds are beautiful, with a pond, small vegetable garden area, and a walk path that wraps around the property. There is an on-staff RN that handles medication coordination when need be, as well as monthly wellness checks for residents. The philosophy of Sunrise is to treat every resident with dignity and respect, and help them to maintain their independence. Overall, there is no negative comment on my part, in regards to possibly having Sunrise of Gurnee the top choice for assisted living options for my Mom.

The staff was incredible. They helped answer all my questions and even more information then I needed to become a resident. The only negative was no pool and no Fitness Center. I would need both for my rehab ordered by the doctor. In addition the building and surrounding area is old and I'm thinking now that I want something new and more modern.

Small size and good staff ratio are real plus. Flexible services along with skilled staff make this an attractive option.

We are very happy we found Sunrise. The atmosphere is homey and friendly and seems like a home instead of a senior living facility. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

My mother has lived at Sunrise of Unionville since the [date removed]. Our family is very happy with the care our mother has received from the day she arrived. As time has gone on Mom's care needs have increased and Sunrise of Unionville staff have always taken very good care of her. They provide regular communication through email, an app and if there is a concern or something they feel we need to know quickly they will pick up the phone and call. All the staff is friendly, and helpful. The staff makes the effort to know the names of all the residents and greet them by name when they see them. I would highly recommend Sunrise of Unionville.

I would highly recommend it. I think it's a very warm, caring environment. We looked at a lot of other places, but this one suits our loved one well. It's more of a family environment. The facility is beautiful. Our loved one is the happiest here that he's ever been. He loves the food and the choices they offer. Also the activities seem to be very engaging.

While our loved one was there, they were very well supported and well taken care of. We were very happy.

My Dad has been a resident since February. They treat him like family, excellent care and communication. My Dad loves the food, has made great friends and has settled in without any issues. From the moment I spoke with [name removed] on the phone, I knew it was the place for my Dad. I would highly recommend this facility.

Go for it , if you can afford it. I have no problems, everything is what they say it was. My loved one likes the food, and it seems like home cooked meals to me. The staff are nice and are always asking if there is anything else they can do for the families or residents.
