Sunrise Senior Living

I fell in love with Sunrise of Richmond. It’s not far from where I live. They have three separate groupings over three floors, two that are assisted living, and one that's shut-in and secured for residents with dementia. There's one main person over each unit, so they know exactly what's going on. I liked how open everything felt. It was all one loop, but not a huge loop. Because everything is circular, all the rooms have windows. There was a big circular area with dining and snack areas. Everything was easy to maneuver. I didn’t go outside, but they had a small garden area. I also liked the way they had the food set up. They gave you options, and it all looked really good. You had a weekly menu so you could see ahead what you were going to have for the week. They allow animals, which is wonderful. The lady who gave me the tour was so gentle when the residents came up and asked her questions. I was impressed with her. She was definitely somebody I would want in my corner. She didn’t blow anybody off and was happy to talk to them. She knew exactly what as going on and could answer anybody’s question within minutes. The staff wear a set uniform so you know who works there and who doesn't. I didn’t see anything there I didn’t like.

Sunrise of Crestwood did an excellent job with our tour. They were at the top of our consideration and ended up being our 2nd choice. I had an overall good impression of the place, and I liked the rooms. There was nothing negative that affected our decision. This was a great place. We just found another place that was even better.

Our family has absolutely had an amazing experience, it is definitely worth 5 stars. Everyone there is very warm and welcoming, the communication is amazing. The activities director within just a couple weeks of our loved one moving in was texting us pictures of her participating in activities. We know our loved one is settling in based on all the updates they give us. They call us all the time whether its getting permission to give our loved one medicine, or fitting new shoes with the podiatrist. We would highly recommend Sunrise, it really feels like a Disney resort. Her life is so enriched, we are not longer concerned, worried, or stressed out. This is the best place for her.

We chose Sunrise community based on the welcoming feeling we received right away and the knowledgeable staff that made us aware of the services available at Sunrise. Also the meals and dining service is a five plus.

We virtually toured Sunrise and loved it. I was dead set on this facility before we saw another one and it really just came down to the location. We knew people here and they did a wonderful job during the tour. The facility is in the middle of Springfield mall so it is a busier location.

Sunrise of Wayne was the perfect place for my mom. She was living alone prior to moving to Sunrise. She was depressed, bored, and falling often. Once we made the decision to move to Sunrise she made friends and became active again. She loved participating in their programing, ate better, and was very well cared for by their amazing staff. I highly recommend Sunrise of Wayne to anyone who is considering Assisted Living.

Since we moved on a weekend we did have some problems getting some information, but she loves her apartment. I do think it will work nicely for her. There is a leak in the shower and we stored some towels there not knowing so we do hae a box of wet towels. Would like to get that fixed. Otherwise, I think it's going to be great!

Beautiful dining and common areas, sunny indoor spaces, a library, pianos, gorgeous grounds, lots of space, nice social activities. Pet friendly.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The facility was in excellent condition and they had several options to accommodate our needs.

It's a beautiful facility. Overall my loved one has received good care, and her lead caregiver has been incredible. She's been amazing and always available to answer my questions. The staff in general are always there and always available. They have a chef on staff, and the food looks really delicious. Activities have been a little limited due to Covid, but the exercise activities have been really good for my loved one. They'll come and get her too, which is really sweet. My loved one had an injury and has had some rehab there, which has been excellent. We've also had a trip to the hospital while she's been there, and they were great in how they handled it. They called me right away. Assisted living is high in general, but as far as that goes in this area, they're actually wonderfully affordable, and they're in and out of her room often making sure she's okay. They've also been really helpful with us in navigating long-term care insurance and making sure that's all on time and done right.

It is a very well run community. The community is clean. The longevity of the staff speaks volumes; as most of the staff have been there for about 20 years. Bingo, crafts, planting flowers, spring hats for a tea party, games, music, Easter bunny, and more for the residents to choose from are some of activates available.

I couldn't have been more impressed with the facility & the staff. Dinner smelled GREAT!. [name removed] was so easy to talk with...she definitely cares for seniors. I pray that we can work out the details to move my Mom in.

The location wasn't the best for us. The people were nice and lovely.

Our parents are very happy at Sunrise and they are enjoying the meals. The activities are coming back quite strong which is great. We really enjoy and like the smallness of the community.

Nice place but to pricey for size of units

Our tour was super good. I liked the facility a lot. I liked the small facility feel, and it was easy to access. Everyone was very friendly and informative, and answered all the questions possible.

During the past couple of years my wife and I were able to have both our moms live with us in a home in the Black Hills of South Dakota. With the onset of COVID 19 a temporary situation became a long term one.. With the vaccinated programs and the subsequent drop in COVID 19 in the Black Hills we were finally able to find a facility where both moms could call home. That was overwhelming agreed by all to be Holiday Estates. Its a warm bright inviting place.. The residents are very nice and the staff is very professional and attentive to the residents needs. There are a lot of activities and the days are full of interesting events. There is an awful lot always going on. It’s a great environment and both the moms are happy with Holiday Estates and the new home they have selected.
