Sunrise Senior Living

This is a great community! I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The community is always clean when I visit my loved one. The value for the money is average, as it can be on the expensive side.

The community was marvelous to work with. All the staff and residents were very nice during my loved one's short stay here. The community was very clean. The nurses came and would care for my loved one such as putting my loved one's hearing aides on. The staff communication with the family was excellent, and they would call about any changes. The meals were very nice, and the community would place residents together to socialize during meals. The meals always smelled wonderful when I visited. There was always music playing, games, talking, and more as some of the activities available. The staff was always trying to engage the residents in the activities.

We were extremely happy with Brighton Gardens and wish we had known about them from the beginning. Top ratings.

We toured at Sunrise of Grosse Pointe Woods, and I thought it looked great. They had a lot of activities going on. This Sunrise location had both assisted living and memory care, and for our loved one who needed memory care, we preferred a different Sunrise location that offered memory care only. Bu this one looked great too.

We love Sunrise on Vernier! We're relieved knowing our mother is being well taken care of. Where she was at before, we were on edge and felt like we had to be there all the time. We don't have that angst anymore at Sunrise. The staff are great. They're very accommodating and go above and beyond to make sure their people are taken care of. They always say hi and intermingle with the residents. They take initiative and happily do whatever needs doing. Placing a loved one for care is a very difficult decision to make, but we've been so happy with them all around.

The staff is very nice and caring , friendly while being professional and well trained. It is located in a beautiful area near the ocean and near downtown Plymouth. They decorate impeccably for the holidays and the food is good too :-)

My father is a reminiscent resident on the 3rd floor at Sunrise McLean since [date removed] as part of their 6-week Road to Home Program to recover from surgery. He was weak & frail but, the staff brought him back to being healthy & vibrant again. The disease was progressing and knowing that I could no longer give my father the kind of care he needed, I made the difficult decision to extend his stay. I could not be happier with that decision. The staff on the 3rd floor – from the management team to care managers, to PT/OT, to the front desk, & finally, the facilities staff – are the best. I go nearly every day, & the care is consistently excellent. It takes a unique set of skills to give care to reminiscent residents; Sunrise McLean hit the jackpot with the staff on the 3rd floor; residents are treated as family, w/love & affection; the staff works as a team and in partnership to give the best care to their residents. Sunrise McLean, keep up the good work!

During our loved ones stay at Sunrise of Shrewsbury we had a very positive experience and we wish that our loved one could go back. The staff members and care givers gave such great care and attention to him. They did a really good job socializing our loved one and getting him involved in different things. The food was good, everyone was friendly and we really enjoyed the community.

This was a good community; however, there were COVID lockdowns here. Our loved one didn't feel it would be the right fit for them.

With both parents aging parallel to each other and diagnosed with Alzheimers & dementia, the last few months have been filled with fear, worry, sleepless nights and profound sadness until I found Sunrise of Wayne. This facility has helped my parents look good, feel good and most importantly, keep them safe. The staff is kind and attentive!!! Their apartment looks and feels like "home." The activities and food are of abundance. My mom says she feels like she's on a cruise. Although, she's never been on a cruise. I know that she is happy. I cannot be more grateful for the care and warm welcome they have received. THANK YOU!

Sunrise at Fountain Square has been the perfect place for Mom! She has made many new friends, is busy with bingo, exercise class and happy hour! The only downfall is she is worried about gaining weight because of the great meals! The staff has taken great care of Mom and met all her needs. She is wheelchair-bound so needs assistance with showering, toileting, getting out of bed in the morning and dressed. The staff knows her preferences and is always willing to help with a smile! Highly recommend this facility.

This was the best I was able to find in the area. Overall the amenities they have really stood out to me and it felt like this was the best for our loved one for the amount of money. There are three meals a day; however, breakfast consists of cereal or oatmeal. You get two free meals; however, one must be breakfast. I wish the set up of meals would have been explained better to us. The resident is able to dine for the other meal. If a resident would like to dine for dinner, the resident must have a reservation and a dining room assignment. I feel the resident should pick the meals they are getting for free. On Sundays the only meal served is brunch and it is served at 11 am, and they have cut out the leftover containers. There is a gym, and maid service included in the monthly fee. The internet isn't consistent and it would be nice to have this fixed. The outdoor area was supposed to be fixed by a deadline and the deadline has come and gone, and now the deadline has been extended by the community. The rent is going to be going up significantly to cover the renovations. Overall the staff they have, have been there quite a while.

The facility is able to provide "aging in place". My dad's health has declined but Sunrise has been able to work with Hospice to provide the care and comfort he needs.

Our family had an in person tour and we thought the tour guide did a fabulous job, it was an excellent tour experience but at the end of the day it was just not going to be the best fit for our family.

Sunrise was great. We just decided mom needed independent living.

We were impressed with Sunrise and this was our second choice. The community was very nice along with the staff. It was more than we wanted to spend.

All is well with things here at this facility. The facility is spotless, beautiful, and the staff we have met are lovely. My loved one is adjusting well!

It's a decent place for the price if you are looking for independent living. It is NOT an assisted living facility and doesn't offer any of those services.. Limited help for people with walking disabilities or balance issues. Food is only okay. Otherwise, the staff is friendly.

My Mother is in her third year as a resident in assisted living. She has a one bedroom apt. and enjoys it very much! It’s decorated with her favorite items. The staff is very responsive, caring, and helpful in time of need and special circumstances. The office staff is also very accessible whenever concerns/issues arise with insurance questions, etc. There is always an open door… The ED [name removed] is exceptional dealing with all of her duties, always a smile and clearly has a “servant’s heart”! There is never any doubt for me that my Mom is in the very best place for her!, Thank you also to all of the amazing “worker bees” at Sunrise!

Things that stand out to us about this facility: Safety/Security (front door is secured with alarm) and all guests sign in and get name tags, friendliness, feels like a family, pleasantly decorated, Holiday decorations, Activities for residents and families, Clean, Staff is friendly and attentive, they know everyone by name, wear name tags, they provide housekeeping. I visited many and this is the only one I would recommend.
