the food is less than satisfactory. they use fancy names for meals that makes no sense. they will say noodles when it's actually always spaghetti. they run out of certain foods a lot for instance the daily food is bacon lettuce and tomato sandwiches and they run out of bacon a lot among other items. it's nice that they have food included in the rent however, for the cost the food is lacking in flavor and variety. the care services that are provided are exceptional, Summit therapists etc are wonderful. the building is beautiful and clean and the staff for the most part are kind and caring.

I am writing this for my mother who is living at Lincoln Square. She does like it and is meeting new people all the time. She has made some friends already. They have a guest room that her son can stay in when he comes up and it's free! Very nice. The food is fantastic and I can attest to that myself as I eat there a few times a month. Never had a bad meal and they give you plenty. The people are friendly for sure. It was a good choice for us as she's only 5 minutes from me so it works perfectly!

Patient that I worked with had his own care staff so circumstances different from others. Staff appear to be good to work with.

My mom loves her new apartment, but she has had some problems with the staff. The employee who was to clean her apartment had not done a good job a few times. But even worse, the same employee seems to have stolen money from her - twice! She was afraid to tell the management, but I assured her that it was their job to keep her possessions safe. Admittedly she shouldn't have left a lot of cash and prescription opiates on top of her dresser, but there should have been more careful background checks of employees. The employee was only let go after other residents also found thefts to have occurred. My mom does not eat pork, and she has had difficulty making it clear to the kitchen staff that there should be more alternate protein options when pork is prepared.

We are very pleased generally. The Management, we believe, work very hard and sometimes go beyond their expectations to please the residents. Our major concern is the dining room and food. As we sit with various residents daily, the complaint is the same. The food could be much better and too often the food runs out before all are served. Next: Health and cleanliness: Two days per week there is buffet for breakfast and Lunch where residents serve themselves. There should be a sneeze shield regardless of who is serving. All week the young male servers run their hands through their hair while serving. Most times no hair net. Tables, chairs and floors are not being cleaned properly after each meal. Have seen same cloth used for cleaning chairs used on tables. Floors are sticky and too often spills not cleaned up right away.

My relative lives here and I have a few things I need to say about the facility. I love her apartment and the staff are friendly, helpful, and just plain great people. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. The servings are extremely small. For example, a half a piece of toast or two small strips of bacon. The fish is smaller than the palm of my hand. I don’t understand why they have to serve rice with almost every meal. What’s wrong with potatoes and I mean a whole potato, not half. Stop with all the fancy food also. I’ve heard the complaints and the residents would prefer hamburgers, hot dogs, stews, pasta with thick sauces not the runny stuff. Also, why don’t they have meal plans. If you’re not a big eater or just want breakfast and lunch but not dinner, why can’t you just buy that. A great deal of the residents don’t eat because the food isn’t flavorful.

My very elderly mother was, for the most part, pretty happy in Assisted Living at Carmel Senior Living. It is a lovely facility and offers above average food to its residents. She required very little other than apartment cleaning, laundry and food service and was happy enough with those services most of the time. One recurring problem was the service or lack thereof in the dining room. It was not a rare occasion at all for her to wait a very long time (20 to 25 min.) to even be acknowledged and have her order taken. On a few occasions it was quite a bit longer. We know these facilities have an ongoing shortage of quality help, but since meals are such a big deal for the residents, it is a shame to subject them to such frustrations. On a personal level, we thought the facility was pretty great except for a serious parking issue for visitors. Spaces are largely filled with residents cars and staff...it was a day to day aggravation.

This facility is nice but they are a little on the older side. The staff members are friendly but I feel like they could be a little more available. Unfortunately, they don’t really do anything hands on to get new residents acclimated to the new community and a lot of the people here are cliquey. I feel like my Mother is really on her own here and none of the staff members goes around to get people involved. They do offer a lot of things to do like entertainment that comes in, movie night, and bingo. This is an independent living facility and her room only has a sink and a dorm sized fridge.

While looking at other communities this facility was nice and we really liked it. It was actually in our top final choices before making a final decision. One small thing was the staff to resident ratio wasn’t necessarily adequate, seemed little less than it could be. It had 4 little neighborhoods (as they called in) in the facility. 2 were Alzheimer’s care and the other 2 were assisted living. It was kind of cute that each neighborhood looked like a home from the outside. They had their own living room and dining area. It seemed smaller which was nice and it had a homey atmosphere.

I really liked The Enclave. I spoke with the director there, and I really liked them. The community is close by, and it is right next to convenient shipping. Unfortunately, the community itself would not have been a good fit for my loved one.

Overall, our experience with The Hearth has been alright. Their maintenance really could use some improvement. The outside of the building needs painting, parts of the siding is coming off, and there are cracks in the pillars near the smoking area. My loved one has had to deal with two problem refrigerators, and I'm not altogether sure if the staff is keeping up with cleaning my loved one's room, changing the sheets, and vacuuming the floors. I don't know that I've seen a cleaning crew at all. The staff does try their best here. They are always busy, but they are friendly and helpful, and they do always try to encourage residents to join in activities. I also like that they have a speech therapist here, and a place for my loved one to get her hair done. Generally, the community is good, and it fits our needs.

When my Father first chose this community it was only going to be temporary. The facility got him an apartment set up that was fully furnished. He got really used to the community and they staff is very good with him. After a little while, he decided to stay here. All of the staff members are nice and friendly. The facility itself is in the city and it looks nice and clean. What I really like is that it is easy for me to go in and see my Father or be able to take him out for dinner. The facility offers activities like exercise classes, bingo nights, card games, and they take the residents on trips to other places. The staff strives to make sure my dad is safe and that he eats, takes his medication, and that he gets out and about to socialize. I recommend this community

I toured this community when I was looking for a place for my aunt and the second I walked in, I could tell it wasn't the right place for her. The whole facility felt so sterile and institutionalized. I'm sure this wasn't their intention but the whole place just felt like a hospital and not at all like a warm home. No one seemed to be rude, it just didn't feel like it was a nice place to relax and rest.

Activities are really lacking, we’d like to see more music. Exercise is Ok. The food is good. Housekeeping is very good. Maint is very attentive. Lighting is an issue. Noise from Alc unit outside.

This community seemed to offer a lot of nice activities and amenities. The person I toured with was nice. The community looked clean.

This is a very nice community and the staff did a great job taking their time showing us around and answering all our questions. The apts were nice sized and there were lots of amenities for the residents to choose from. What I noticed the most was there was not much activity going on in the common areas between the residents themselves. It would be worth taking a tour here.

This is a nice looking community. The people we met were friendly. This community has a swimming pool and seemed to offer a lot of nice amenities. This was just not the right fit for my loved ones.

I really liked this community when I toured it. The staff was very friendly and nice. The executive director was wonderful very nice and professional and nice. The community was very clean and well maintained. I just didn't get the sense as I was walking around that mom would be completely happy here.
