They're going through a transition in ownership. Like every other place right now, they're struggling to find help, so they're struggling to get things done and take care of things. I like the people there. You can tell they're trying. They'll be honest with you that they're struggling. They seem like really good people trying to get the job done. They just don't have the means to do it right. And that's not a reflection on them. That's a reflection on where we're at in the world right now with the pandemic. I would say if your loved one is going in for level 3 assisted living, you might want to look somewhere else simply because the nurses are stretched so thin. My loved one has been in the emergency room several times, and they didn't seem to know quite what to do with him. The living spaces are fine, but they've cut back on cleaning from once every week to once every two weeks, and they're not even able to take the time to do that well at this point.

The community is clean and neat. The community tries hard to take care of the residents. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

The cleanliness of the community is good, but the cleaning of the apartments is superficial. Our loved one stopped going to the dining room because of kitchen staff member was not the friendliest, the would not allow our loved one to sit at the tables they wanted. Also the meals are not gourmet, but they are what they advertise, and the hours for the meal times are not ideal. The last meal - dinner stops being served at 5:45. However we do think the value for cost overall is very good compared to other places. The apartment is very nice, it was a great balcony and the location is great for our family. The balcony makes an enormous difference for our loved one.

We came in at a difficult time during Covid. I've not been really impressed with the food that I've tried. It's an older building, and sometimes it's not as clean as I'd like it it to be. One thing that really bothers me is there's nobody there all night long once the front desk closes for the evening. I realize that it's not an assisted living facility, but at the same time, a lot of older people live there. So if a resident were to press their emergency button at night, there would be no response from Beaverdale, only a response from the emergency company it's tied to. Which I find strange. I think they're really good to the people though, and that's important. And they offer a lot of activities there, which I think is really nice.

Every time we visit the community it is very clean. The staff and care services have been really good so far. They recently started a new support group program for relatives who have loved ones at the Independence Village, so it really gives off a sense of a community. We would recommend them to other families.

I would tell others it is a very nice place to be. It is one of the best I've seen. The food sometimes comes out cold, and the taste isn't always good. It is the same menu for three months in a row, with not a lot of variety. Some of the activities include live entertainment, games, shopping tours, and more for the residents to choose from.

The Everlan of Louisville community is very lovely and well appointment. We would recommend this community to others.

The community is going through a management change right now and we are waiting to see how the new management takes care of the community. The community is very clean and the staff is very helpful.

Overall I've been pleased with what they do so far. Everyone that's in assisted living needs the help, but they're very sad to leave their own homes. Given that situation, the residents here have been very kind and helpful, and have helped each other. And I think that's the mark of a good place and of good people. I think the staff have been as helpful as they can be as well, and are doing the best they can. I've been really been impressed with the staff that care for my loved one on the night shift. She enters a state of emotional stress very quickly, and they have been able to calm her and help her. So I just think the world of her caregivers. They're very professional, not cold, but they do a good job in helping her by keeping calm in their own emotional state. Initially my loved one was resistant to even go there, but now she tells me this feels like her home.

On the negative side, we were told several things that were just not true. Some of those were things we based our decision on, for instance how far they're willing to drive residents to appointments. At first there were some ups and downs with the food, but they have a chef now, and my loved ones seem very happy with the food. They also seem to be enjoying all of the activities. They're very active, and go down every night to join in playing games. Holiday events have not gone as smoothly. On Father's Day, they had planned an outside picnic, but it rained and they had to bring it in inside. The residents were allowed to invited their families, and there wasn't enough food. They also didn't serve what they said they were going to serve. My parents told me the whole thing was a fiasco and a mess. And some people knew they were allowed to invite their families, but my parents didn't even know that until they went down to the event. The place is brand new, so of course it looks clean. But my loved ones' apartment is always clean as well. We had a lot of questions in the beginning that we couldn't get answered, like when do they come and clean, and when do they come and get trash. I wish they would have had a welcome packet that explains all of those different things. They do ask for feedback, and it seems like they do listen to that feedback.

It's a good community. The food is good. My room is nice. I enjoy getting to see my grand dog everyday when my son walks over to see me. I enjoy sitting outside and watching everyone walking by.

Everything is very good and helpful

We have a lovely patio in the back with bird feeders and wind chimes. It is nice to sit outside and relax. The community is working on improving the meal times and the meals. I do think it is a good place to be.

We chose Glen Abbey at the time because of the value for the money as well as the availability. I do think there is a definite lack of communication at times from the staff members, so they could use some improvement there. I would recommend and already have.

I appreciate the staff's efforts to keep the community of residents safe in Covid, even though it was very difficult. Office staff is always willing to assist my mother with her phone problem. Working with my mother's menu and the dietary departments has been very smooth and helpful.

Well-maintained environment. Cleaning staff is excellent. Helpful small repairs - i.e. handle on door. Nutritious feed - well-prepared.

I like being a part of independent living and yet being able to be a part of the many activities offered here. I especially like the various exercise opportunities, playing table games, and socializing at dinner. It is comforting to know that someone is at the desk. When that is not available, it makes me feel a little lonely.

Been here four years at Independence Village & i have found it to be a caring, comfortable home. The staff is very accommodating to residents needs, and have done an admirable job oh managing through the regulations of the covid shut down. The activities staff were great at avoiding boredom with the residents. The culinary department managed to maintain an attractive dining experience.
