Everyone is very friendly and they all know you. The facility is new and clean. There is a lot of turnover in staff but I understand that happens a lot in other places, but the staff have stayed are excellent.

No additional comments about the facility. There are not ways they could improve. Room sizes, amenities, activities, Dining options are good.

I visited several and this is the friendliest. Mine is a two bedroom apartment, a little over a thousand feet. Only one bathroom. The one bedrooms are very roomy, also. Lots of activities. The things lacking are theatre, bigger game room. Maybe more game rooms. Anonymous, please. Oh, I don't like assigned seating in dining room and assigned eating time. Although I lucked out and have great table mates.

Ask patrons if they like the food. My mom doesn't like the food. Most of the time I would agree as the menu options don't seem to fit seniors. Also we like the place but since the start of our experience they have been understaffed and also difficulty retaining staff. The result is delays in response and overlooked care such as showers, laundry etc. the staff and leader have always been very friendly and respectful to my mom. They just never have enough people for the number of residents. I am sure this issue is widespread in the industry. Our solution has been to constantly follow up with the caregivers to ensure things are done.

The StoryPoint Chesterton senior independent living residence is a clean, attractive, affordable and welcoming place. The staff is professional and gracious. The residents are pleasant. It was easily a perfect fit. The tour was conducted by a staff member who was professional and gracious during and afterwards to facilitate the needs of the prospective residents.

Dining room staff is not real friendly. Mom complains about the food a lot. Meats fatty. Stew looks like dog food. Salads look like they were already picked at. That type of thing. She is also very displeased about her meal times. 11am and 4pm, which are much earlier than she would like. There is not much flexibility or cooperation in getting that changed.

I think everyone is friendly and helpful, especially [name removed] the nurse. The food isn't great. It was really talked up on my initial tour.

Mom is settling in. Really likes the food. Took 2 or 3 weeks to get her on a shower schedule. After a week with no shower had to go and insist but they now have her on a regular schedule. Overall she is happy, just a bit of a rough start. All the staff have been helpful.

My main complaint is that the covered parking is not available for my car.

This community is a very positive place to live, everyone is so friendly and the community is very beautiful!

The staff and many residents are very kind, though caregivers could use additional support, as is common in many places. The dining staff provide good meals, and the entertainment offerings are wonderful for social connection. Maintenance staff are busy but always willing to help with tasks. The nursing team does a great job keeping medications on a routine schedule. Administration is helpful and responsive to questions about expenses. Cleaning staff are friendly and thorough, and residents are encouraged to do their part in keeping things tidy. The only downsides are that service trucks outside the windows can be noisy, and controlling the temperature in some apartments can be difficult. Overall, the community is welcoming and supportive.

Couldn't have asked for a better place.

It is a great facility. The food is exceptional, the activities are good and plentiful. The main drawback is the cost , very high , although in line with others, they are mostly all ridiculously high. My wife had a hard time adjusting, she was there just short of 2 months, we went back to home care from Cornerstone.

Facility is very clean. All personnel are friendly. Caregivers (more so on the enhanced living side) are always friendly and take the time to visit with residents. Many interesting events, like art, history, games, Social hour Wednesday are fun and encourage interaction between residents.

The staff is amazing & my mom has been wonderfully cared for. She says the food is hit or miss but there has been a few chefs since she got there. The cleanliness is off the charts in fact my mom just got moved into a newly remodeled apartment that is stunning. The staff is very friendly & helpful. The only downside is there has been a lot of turnover but I feel like that happens at all facilities.

My Aunt and Uncle have lived at Valparaiso Senior Village for over a year. They love it! So many wonderful activities and they have weekly entertainers. My Aunt’s health is no longer a concern for us because they take such good care of them both. I would recommend highly.

I was satisfied even though my husband was denying any problem. Having him here helped me see that Danbury had same problems that I did when we were home. Refusal to do self hygiene and being uncooperative
