The location here is so good.

We toured Provision Living at East Lansing during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility was beautiful and I felt that my loved one would be very safe here. However, my loved one did not like the idea that there were cameras in her room to detect if she fell.

The deli-restaurant style eating available in the lobby. The piano bar with entertainment all stood out among other communities. Smell, cleanliness! 24/7 access.

Provisions offers technology for safety. My Mother is a fall risk and the sensors offer another layer of protection for Mom, as well as acceptance of use of Alexa or cameras. I was more impressed here than even with my more expensive options. This is a newer facility so the physical appearance was very nice and up to date. It is very clean and bright and it smells great! I like that Mother's unit is built specifically for memory care, not a converted floor or hall. The unit is secure with secure admittance and exiting. There is no exit from the lovely outdoor courtyard except back into the unit. It seemed to be staffed pretty well and they had smiles! The staff seem to like their residents and each other, and there is a relatively low turnover. When we visited, there was interaction between residents in the common areas. The size of the rooms is large enough to accommodate a sleeping area as well as a conversation area and the bathroom is easy access and large enough for Mother's wheelchair. The food looked and smelled good!

The front-line staff are very caring and dedicated. However, they do seem to be chronically understaffed. Housekeeping: These are some of my favorite staff. They are very personable and really helped my mom (and Me) feel more comfortable moving into the facility. Change is very difficult, especially for older people) and they were very helpful in this field. Cooks: They really care about what they are serving and making the residents happy. They do a great job with the budget they have. They keep it flavorful and varied yet still nutritious. Cleanliness: the place is always neat and clean. I was frustrated in the beginning since I gave plenty of time to get the apartment ready (about 4 weeks), yet when I moved mom in, there were still things that needed to be done. Please be mindful that some of the residents are coming from a very nice home into an apartment and this can be a tough transition even without the stumbling block of having the place still in need of maintenance. We have been here since August and the windows still have moisture leaks and are filled with so much moisture, they are difficult to see out of. Parking is very easy and convenient. [Name removed], The Director, (the one who deals with the on-site day-to-day stuff) is amazing and really tries to do whatever we need. Maintenance: I have only met a couple of them. One is very good and really knows what he’s doing and is friendly and patient. The recruitment team: this is my least favorite group. They promised things that were not there once moved in. Example: there must be a generator as my mom needs 24-hour oxygen due to very severe COPD. She is functioning on less than 38% of her lung capacity. I was promised there was a generator for her. Once I got there, we lost power the first week and found there’s only one generator in the Assisted living building. That is NOT what I was told. Additionally, I was told there is flat linen service, not so in reality. However, when we discussed this with the housekeeping, she was very happy to help strip and make the bed as long as Mom washes the sheets herself.

My mom was in memory care for just over a year and the experience was mostly good. The daily activities were excellent, her clothes we washed weekly, the nurses and aids were kind to her. My one complaint would be communication about her health and what to expect as dementia took a stronger hold on her. I would suggest that caregivers ask a lot of questions as time goes on. Dementia is so hard on everyone involved.

The staff are unbelievably important to me!

They love how friendly and accommodating the staff is! They feel that the meals have really gotten worse lately and they like the activities but they are frequently canceled without any notice - this is hard on my parents as they walk all the way there for nothing and then have to walk all the way back which is difficult for them. I must add that [name removed] has been phenomenal in helping them with their transition!

I have experience theft of meds, clothing and money but have been assured the guilt party is no longer an employee. So far so good

My mother has been a resident at Crestwood Village for over two years. She started out in assisted living and, after a year, moved into memory care. I have never questioned the moves. They were suggested, and, at my agreement, acted upon. Each time she was moved, the staff made an effort to help her adjust to her new environment. So that the transition ended up being only mildly disconcerting, rather than difficult and confusing. In addition, they gently steer her towards activities which they know she will enjoy and invite her to all activities. She never feels left out. The staff are caring, responsive and respectful individuals. They are what gives Crestwood it's heart. They genuinely care. My only complaint is that the staff is understaffed especially on weekends and cannot always do all that is required of them. I know this is an issue many care facilities face. Crestwood is not unique.

The staff take good care of me

The Executive Director at Glen Abbey came in during the worst of COVID-19 and what were hard conditions in health care everywhere. We worked together through a lot of challenging times, but with her upper leadership team behind her, Glen Abbey has become a wonderful home for my dad, who will be there for 3 years in December. While a steadfast leader, she's also put together a great team around her. The kitchen staff care about their residents, the food is so good, they're the best! The activities manager does a wonderful job, from daily activities to larger events. The care team staff has only gotten stronger; the bar is always being raised, and it shows. The team is responsive to your needs and concerns. Nothing is perfect, but attitude and intent mean everything. I make sure to take the time to thank them for being such an important part of my team.

My father lived here for a little over 2 years. The staff was wonderful. He was placed in hospice and was able to live there until he died. However, read the lease carefully. The parent company is now trying to charge him for 30 days rent past the date of his death. The lease has a death clause which terminates the lease immediately upon death. Then the estate is liable for the later 14 days rent past the date the apartment is emptied. For my father this means 4 days of rent for September yet they are charging for 17 days. Not right not following the lease agreement

What we like the most about the Atria at River Trail are the people, they are really nice. Both residents living there and the staff workers are very kind. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

It's a good place. I would recommend it to anyone. I mean I'm here.

When it comes to the care services - like everyone else these days they struggle a little bit to stay fully staffed. Staff shortages and frequent new-hires that need to "learn the rope." Most of the staff is top notch. What activities are offered are very nice, our loved one just never wants to participate but from the few things I've pushed for into its been good. The value for cost is is a very subjective question! If everything were always perfect I'd say I'd be happy with the high cost but since it's not possible to be 100% confident 100% of the time that everything is happening like it is supposed to. I know every single facility out there faces the same challenges so I'm not at all unhappy that we chose Pinebrook. Overall she's good there.

When it comes to the cleanliness it could use a deep cleansing in the hallways as well as the common areas. The care services depends on the staff members Some are excellent. The night shift and afternoon shifts not so much. For the value for cost, is could be better. However based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

We are very fortunate to be residents in this community.

My home is both friendly and safe. The staff and other residents are so very nice. They somehow know my name and greet me with a smile. I can't imagine living elsewhere.
