I've lived here for 1.5 years and enjoy it. Too bad that restrictions and cutbacks had to be put in place because of the covid pandemic. I have made friends here, but I miss outside visitors. Spend a lot of time on computer/printer, which saves me trips to the library to use theirs.

Our family is so thrilled that Blossom Springs has been here for us! We are so thankful for this beautiful place filled with warm, caring, friendly. Through, sweet caretakers and staff. The difference between my dad with this responsiveness in moving and getting back into physical therapy and playing chess is wonderful.

Our mother is doing fabulously there, she thought she would be happier to stay by herself but that is not the case. She is participating in most of the activities, she is very social and loves meeting all different people. She has told us she feels very safe there which is most important. Her apartment is beautiful, its well decorated and everything is better then what we could ever expect.

We chose StoryPoint Troy because it was highly recommended to us and they just seemed like a higher quality, more organized facility after meeting with them. I felt like she would get the best overall care here with good food and that has been the case. The room sizes are adequate for what she needs, they are private rooms and there is plenty of space. It is a high quality place and I would definitely recommend them to others who are looking.

One thing I was concerned about was the studio apartment type of setting. I knew that would be a tougher sell when it came time to convince our loved one to move. She would want to bring all of her things, and her queen bed wouldn’t fit. In our case this was bad, but for other people it would be good- it's a pet friendly community with a lot of rescue animals. Our loved one is not an animal person and would not have liked that, but lots of people would. I really liked their perspective on dementia. They told me the sooner you get your loved one into a community the better. Because that means the sooner they would start knowing that those were safe people and they were in a safe place. So as her memory went away and she might not remember the specifics, she would know she was safe. That was something I really liked.
