I would like to start by saying the staff is loving and kind. They take remarkable care of the residents which includes my mother. The facility is well managed and is always clean. It is refreshing to walk into the facility that is always decorated to the season changes and holidays. My mother thanks me everyday for having such a wonderful place to call home. That wasn't easy for her because she had lived in the same place for 78 years. The staff made the move for my mom so very easy and right from the beginning she called it home (over three years now). It is so very peaceful and caring. Maple Lake Assisted Living is driven by passion, love and grace. The passion for excellent care starts with their administration director, activity director (amazing), quality care director and caregivers. They are all engaged with their residents. They know them as well as their family own members. Make Lake is amazing and so very special to me because they are there when I can't be!

I moved my mom to Maple Lake from another facility. She was hospice at the time.. I am so happy to say that my mom has received EXCELLENT care at Maple Lake, I wish I had placed her there from the start. She graduated from hospice within 4 months of moving. When we moved mom in, we felt completely at home. I have never lost that feeling. I am always happy to go there, I look forward not only to see my mom, but the staff too. The management and the entire staff are not only professional, but very, very welcoming. They love what they are doing and it shows. They are my friends and I think of them and trust them as family. I don't worry about mom there. I know that she's being taken care of. Any concerns that I have are immediately addressed. My mom is very content and peaceful there. The staff love and cherish her, I feel that they love and cherish all of the residents there. When I leave, I feel that I'm leaving her with her "other" family. Mom and I love it there.

Overall, I am very pleased with the care my mother is getting at WLAL . Not so much with the cost however

Getting better with decorating. Friendly. Food is good. Servers very helpful. D. R. pleasant. Chairs by elevators very good. Like adult coloring. Participate in community gatherings like derby, beach, Christmas, etc. Love outside seating and gardens. Staff always helpful. Transportation available. Salon important.

My widowed mother experienced a rapid decline in her mental stability this spring and her needs were beyond what I could provide at home. My late father, a retired pastor, had visited church members at White Lake and came home each time with glowing reports. The hospital my mom was in at the time sent her to a different facility that honestly was a nightmare. I thought at the time they had tried getting her into White Lake but that was not the case. I quickly put my mother in the waiting list for the Memory care department and when mom was accepted in we immediately moved her over to White Lake. The staff have provided me with a sense of care and security and compassion for my mother. They know who I am when I call to check on her, no matter the time of day or evening. Some of the staff have not even met me in person but they know my mom’s personality and her quirks that make life better for her. White Lake provides a level of care,staff,cleanliness that is top notch .

I cannot think of a negative thought I have had in 13 month stay here that [name removed] has not resolved to my satisfaction for me or others here.

I have found everyone very helpful and kind. They have all done their best during this pandemic. I'm very glad I moved here in 2019.

Eating with a nice group of people. I like walking out of my apartment and having friendly people down my hallway. I grew up in Portage and I'm familiar with the area and it feels like home to me.

The food is very good similar to outside restaurant. The staff is very kind and helpful.
