My dad moved into Independence Villages of Ankeny after living independently for 10 years. This move was a big adjustment for him; however, the staff has really welcomed my dad. He always comments to me that the nursing staff takes great care of him. He loves that the staff takes care of ordering and dispensing his medication. He enjoys the morning exercise classes and field trips. He eats in the dining room at a table of men and refers to them as “my guys.” His one bedroom apartment is the perfect size for him. The maintenance and cleaning staff are wonderful. My dad is so appreciative that he doesn’t have to clean, vacuum or do his laundry anymore. The staff takes care of that for him. I am there frequently visiting my dad. The other residents always go out of the way to stop and talk to us when we’re in the hallways. I will stop in at the nurses station and get a quick update on my dad. I am so appreciative to know that he is in a safe place and that he is well cared for.

We moved Mother to Independence Village -Ankeny three years ago. At that time she fit perfectly in assisted care. Recently as her memory has gotten progressively worse, a room opened up in the Memory Care Unit. The staff at Independence Village is amazing. They know our family by name and are always ready to help with everything. It gives our family great comfort knowing that Mom is treated with love and dignity in her later years of life. From the maintenance man, to the chef, to the front office workers, to the caregivers, they all work as a team and are ready to help no matter what we ask. We highly recommend Independence Village Ankeny!

Our family researched and toured places before selecting the long-term care facility placement for our treasured mom. Ludington Woods has friendly and caring individuals sharing TLC with the residents. The special attention the residents receive, as a need arises, is much appreciated. Each week, there are activities for the residents to attend, if they want to join the fun. The caregiver employees personally invite each resident and that makes all the difference in our mom choosing to enjoy the offered craft, baking, game etc. sessions. The cleanliness (& scent) of the building inside and the grounds outside is commendable. The on-site cook offers a good variety of meals to suit a range of tastebuds. High fives to the employees that treat each resident like their own relative. The success of this facility begins with the manager and she is top notch! We know our mom has a special place in her heart for each adult caring for her in our absence. What a blessing!

Staff is (cant spell) exceptional competent, friendly, inclusive all sense of humor too. Food is great! Like the activities.

Wonderful place to live.

My mom lost her husband last year and decided to move to Independence Village in Ankeny so she could be close to her family. She moved into a one bedroom apartment with a private bathroom and a livingroom/diningroom/kitchenette combo. She brought her own furniture and keepsakes and now has a home she loves! The staff cleans her apartment once a week and they provide all of her meals. They also administer all of her medications. There are always activities that she can participate in or outings that residents can sign up for, which she really enjoys. If she wants to go out with family or to dr appts, she just signs out. She also has been on several short vacations with family without any problems. I love Independence Village of Ankeny because they have dedicated and caring staff. From the Administrator to members of the housekeeping staff, my mom gets the best care. Everyone knows her and makes sure she is well taken care of, both mentally and physically. They are the best!

I love how this is a small community and the staff and nurses strive to really know the residents. Many also know me as a family member! I like the variety of events and fun outings. The communication has been great via email, texting or dropping in. I feel reassured they're really looking at my dad as a person and helping him thrive.

My first impression of IV Ankeny was the clean open atmosphere and the pleasant smell. Everyone we met seemed happy including the residents. Mom fought us at first but soon became excited to see the apartments. Fortunately the best apartment was available. New paint new carpet and hard flooring seems to happen for each new resident. I have highly recommended IV Ankeny to friends. My family enjoys visiting mom here also.

I decided to move here myself to help my father during his last few years. Dad died with peace and dignity under Hospice care right here at Glen Eagle, and the staff were a compassionate and caring support at the time. I decided to stay on at Glen Eagle because of the good friends I have made and because I enjoy my beautiful private living space where excellent dining and housekeeping services are provided. My senior years are worry free.

All staff were nice and welcoming! Dining room is very presentable and clean and everyone seemed happy.
