I would say Bayfield is a first class place. Very happy with every aspect. The caring staff was wonderful. They helped my Mom achieve her goal to go home. But I would also say the cost is not sustainable for long. For what my Mother needed at the time, it was wonderful. We could go to sleep at night knowing that if she needed something someone was there for her. Caring people that did their best.

Our loved one has passed on now but it felt homey and it was easy to get to know the staff team. They did have a little turnover but the community had a very relaxed vibe. My mother in laws nursing home was constant buzzers and patients yelling.

When Mom couldn't live on her own anymore, she wanted a place which had views of nature (woods, wildlife, beautiful plantings) rather than buildings and concrete. She wanted it to be small enough that she could enjoy the surroundings without getting lost and large enough that there would be opportunities to share activities and make friends with her neighbors. Briarwood is so welcoming. Mom is happy here, feels safe, loves the food, and receives wonderful care. Everyone is committed to constant improvement and it just keeps getting better. We searched for quite a while and feel lucky to have found something this special.

My mom loves the staff! They are always kind to her, smiling, and friendly. She can't say enough about that, which I think is so important, in light of the stories you hear occasionally about elder abuse in other places. She feels very safe there, and I feel her needs are being met very well. I had concerns about the food (mostly quality; the quantity is fine for my tiny 98 year old mom), but Grace Haven has hired a new chef, and Mom claims the food is better. Highest praise for [name removed], the director. She is always smiling and ready to hear any concerns I may have.
