I had a few issues with their care services. They told me they were going to change his prescription because; they had him on a bunch of anti-psychotics and it took them 6 months and they're just now starting to check it out. So they didn't follow through with it. My dad couldn't walk because they didn't cut his toe nails. I know insurance only covers for it to be done once every four months. I told them I'd pay for that, so that he can walk. He complains about pain in his feet and it seemed like a simple fix. They chose not to do it, because they knew what the problem was. Cost wise, they are a little higher than some of them, but a lot of them looking for easy patients and he isn't one when he gets riled up. A lot of places wouldnt take him because he was refusing meds, but that's apart of dementia. It's a good overall place, but it depends on how your loved one is. If they are an easy going person, there would probably be better places out there because they wont push. If you're looking for a place that has a wing for memory care and assisted living, there are several different levels there. If you're looking for a place where you don't want to move facilities as your loved ones progresses through dementia, then this would be a good place and I'm pretty tough on places. You can put anywhere in here, whether it's for dementia or assisted living. They have a place for every level; so if he needs to go into total bedridden care, they can accommodate that. It's a full meal-deal place, they can house pretty much everything an elderly person is going through. This is based off of their testimonies as my dad has only been in their memory care.

I was not aware that there was little medical care and attention available.

The residents seemed happy and engaged. They didn't have nurses on staff and no Executive Director either.

We are not happy at all with the caregivers in the evenings. There is a shortage of help and my loved one is bedridden and does not get the care that is needed. The day time caregivers are wonderful.

I liked the community, but not the right fit for my loved one.

This review is based when it was Windsong at Rock Creek. I chose this community because of activities offered, their daily routine, and it is a dedicated memory care community. The security was very important and good. We had some issues there, my loved one got accidentally locked in a storage room and nobody knew he was missing or for how long.. It would always take so long to find care, help, or any employees. On paper this community looked a lot better than it was.

We are generally pleased with this community. The staff have been friendly and helpful. They offer some nice activities and amenities. Mom likes her room and the meals are good. She is making friends. They keep the community well taken care of.

I had a good tour of this community, and everyone was very kind. The staff I met was very nice, and friendly. Everything looked very well-kept, it is a nice looking facility. It was a lovely experience, but my mother didn't feel this was the community for her.

My dad is doing good he is still adjusting. They are very compassionate and very friendly. My dad likes to watch others playing domino. I would like a little more interaction for my dad. So he gets more one on one attention.

Brookdale Carrollwood has a lot of hallways and alcoves. It seemed slightly larger than what we were looking for. It did not seem as clean as the slightly smaller community we chose. The staff that we meet seemed nice and knowledgable.

This is a nice community with a good staff. They are caring for my mother very well here. The staff has been friendly and very helpful. There is always someone around to help. The community is pretty clean and everything looks okay. She does enjoy the activities they offer like the games. She loves the meals they have very good food. If you are looking into care make sure you explain your care in detail to the community so they know everything they need to do.

I really just took a quick tour of the Brookdale Northdale facility, but from what I saw initially about the place is that it is a somewhat decent place to live. I know that the staff was definitely very friendly.

They tried to work with us. My father has alzeihmers. But there were a few needs that he had that they overlooked in the assessment (which in retrospect I feel should have been more thorough). I ended up having to get dad out of there and into a care facility that had more of a focus on memory care.

Even though our mothers has not been at the Haven very long, so far our experience has been good.

It was nice, clean, the staff were friendly. We liked it, we were going to move in, but it didn't work out. It ended on a good note though.

It was alright. I have thought about that as a back up option. The only reason I really didn't pick Emeritus is because I started getting negative feedback on them from a TV program.

Staff is friendly, place is clean, size of rooms is fine. food is horrible. they say breakfast is good, the rest is horrible. frozen vegetables turn to mush.

The PT personnel were wonderful!!! They were very accommodating to my husband's ever-changing abilities. The food was mediocre when we were there. I did a lot of cooking. Which is great with the full kitchen. The menu was basically the same thing served on different days of the week. They have since replaced the head chef. The front desk staff was wonderful! There are a lot of activities, but we were not able to participate, so we did not develop a circle of friends. There was a mass exodus when the current management company took over. The monthly rent was raised and long time residents balked. The new management company was trying to upgrade many things when I left in June. I did not find communication with management easy to navigate. It is such a beautiful facility and hopefully they can fill empty apartments!

The staff working with my mother was caring however they did not seem to have the experience of communicating with family members the concerns with my mother. Food was great. Cost was great. Facility was new and always clean. My mother didn't get her medication as needed. She had a stroke which made me aware that she was not taking the blood thinners. I have medical questions that still have not been resolved. She is living at an older facility in Monroe which has a very antique facility but the care for her is physical and mental needs are better addressed. There was so many issues administratively that I feel anxiety when I think of her stay. I feel that the management team was not following up with what was promised when I signed her up. I would not recommend that facility for any person needing a great deal of medical attention. I visited the facility two or maybe three times a week- so I speak from my experience and not what I heard.

1.Cleanliness: The facility appeared to be very clean. (I will say there were a couple of visits my mom's bathroom was a mess and was not cleaned up after they had bathed her or changed her adult diaper. 2.Activities: they do a great job keep residents busy. 3.Food: it could be better. 4.Staff: [Name Removed] is amazing! [Name Removed] (spelling wrong) was amazing! Both of these ladies came to the hospital to see my mom and check on her. A couple of observations: I believe they are short shafted. No one answering the entrances, you have to ring a buzzer and wait for someone to come by or wait until someone can get free. A mystery I didn't have the time to figure out, and we didn't have at other facilities, was my mom's glasses would come up missing a lot. One day she had someone else's glasses on. My mom's remote to her TV came up missing. I was told they had a resident that would steal/take other residents stuff. I did NOT like this. [Name Removed] and the Activity person (young lady)are the shining light for this facility and are a huge plus for this facility. Overall rating 3+ stars. I believe I'd be remiss if I didn't mention what I would call a bit confusing line of communication regarding injuries. my mom had a huge bruise on the side of her head that also affected one eye. I asked several times what happened and never got what a reasonable person would consider a straight answer. This happened on [Date Removed] I saw her Monday morning and they told me she was fine. I asked several different people what happened and they either didn't know or were not sure what happened. Tuesday night she had a massive stroke and never regained consciousness. She went in the hospital on [DatRemoved] and passed away on [Date Removed]. All of these places need to work on having very clear processes for recording incidents and a one point of contact for the family that can give the official information. I thought about my response to you and this is a thoughtful and truthful response.
