Harbison seemed a bit dirty and the manager was unprofessional. Harbison had a resident "escape" the facility the weekend before we visited so we felt like it was definitely not secure. Also a resident had fallen and split his head open the night before we visited and was sitting in a wheelchair with a black eye when we toured. Another resident was crying and distraught and the manager wrote it off saying she complained often. She didn't comfort her. Not a good look.

I wanted to go here. There was a shortage in staff. The activities is good. It's an older building.

I thought Harbison Shores was a nice community. The environment felt less busy and less engaging than other places we looked at and than was our preference for our loved one. But It was calm and peaceful.

Because it is such a new facility, I believe they have some growing pains that they are going through. Activities are not as promised and they took a long time to get up and running - but they are providing activities now. The food was good in the beginning but from what I am understanding from my loved on, it has declined. There are definitely are some improvements they could make, we have been disappointed.

The do not have enough staffing and therefore things fall through the cracks - it is the biggest issues which really shows in their everyday responsibilities and quality of care. There also is not much stimulation going on. However even though our loved one had dementia the one big thing she always remembers is the food - she says they have really good food.

The showers were dirt. They had really nice and good people. I had an issue with the bill , which made me very upset because it was very high. The food was good. They had some activites but not a lot. There wasnt much value,for the amount of money that I was paying. The outide was nice. The people that do the work is 50/50, in which some do a good job, and others are just there for a paycheck.

My biggest suggestion for others would be to meet the person first to decide if it is an appropriate place for them. Unfortunately my dad did not get anything he needed at all while here. They had not met him prior, so they did not know whether it would be a good placement for him. They had told us it would be a good fit but it was not. The facility was beautiful and the people were nice, it was just not the right fit for us.

Since they changed ownership they seem to only care about bringing in money...they have filled memory care to capacity while losing staff...more residents and less staff has hurt the quality of care and I can see the difference in my mother...she always wants to go home with me and she wasn't that way before. As soon as they maxed capacity they had a massive COVID outbreak and locked down for 2 weeks.

Nurses not taking care of mom. Some of the staff are not really nice to the residents. Sometimes mom likes the food and sometimes she does not. It should be cheaper. Other families, looking into this facility should talk to patients and staff that work there.

It's affordable. It's in a good location. I think the management is good. But they didn't have enough staff, and they lost their activities director. I think it's a good value, but I do think they need to add more activities for the residents.

I would recommend you find another community. The quality of care and the staff ratios are awful and these are some of the reason I suggest another community for your loved one. They didn't have activities for memory care residents. The only thing they did was watch tv.

Our family had an in person tour and the people were very nice there, but it was not as clean and the layout was just not going to work for our loved one.

The people we met on our tour were nice, and everything was fine overall. The facility wasn't finished though, so we didn't spend a lot of time there, and it was kind of hard to get a feel for it. When we found out that the rooms would have just a little refrigerator instead of a full size one, my loved one lost interest.

At the moment Harbison Shores is badly understaffed especially at night which results in a lack of communication with the families.

With this community we walked in and there were fans in the foyer. The roof goes to the top of the building and it was really hot. The rooms were also not designed for ease of movement.

Very clean, food fair - could be improved - staff - too few need to hire more - needs increase in activities for residents.

When we looked at Indigo at Carolina Forest it was not open yet so we could not really get a good feel for what it would be like.

Clean. Food was ok could improve. Need more associates with having long wait times.
