We do not have anything to compare it to. She has only been at [facility removed]. But hearing other stories of other places they all seem to have the same issues.

We had high hopes that our dad would receive quality care at Westhill. He has lived there for 3 months and things went from good to bad. The director left a month ago and communication with the "interim" administration is minimal. I finally reached out to the management company after a real scare almost 2 weeks ago, where we almost lost our dad due to some serious issues. The facilty has SOME really quality caregivers from CNA's, to Med-Techs, to nurses and we are very grateful for those few. Unfortunately, they are understaffed, overworked, and underpaid. We are hoping that when the new director arrives in a couple of weeks "things" will improve. If not, we will have to do some soul searching and make a decision as to what is best for our dad.

The location seems to be a benefit to us and I think the price is reasonable. I am waiting to see if there is a large increase the first of the year as this new company took over in late February. The biggest issue we have is the food which is a major deal for seniors. I'm hoping to schedule a meeting with the director to see why they are doing some of the things. My loved one was offered a bologna sandwich for dinner last night which was not what they considered dinner.

The family needs to stay constantly involved in the care. DAILY! The family will be cleaning, removing trash, laundry regularly. Some more friendly, saw much turn over and short staffed. Most days I watched caregivers on their phones in hallways. Family member not given correct inhaler. Found family member in need of emergency care while "nurse manager" didn't seem to sure about situation. The meals seemed good most days. If you didn't eat in dining area you could barely get a sandwich. The activities seemed to have good variety. ALL assisted living is OUTRAGEOUS for the care provided. If your family member has to be hospitalized passed a few days you are REQUIRED to go to rehabilitation while still maintaining your room expenses as if you were there...it's up to their discretion whether you can return.

Note that my parents are no longer at Magnolia Bridge. Dad passed away in [date removed] and Mom is in a skilled nursing facility. However, the staff were very responsive and flexible in dealing with unusual needs. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families as always, strong advocacy is the key to a positive experience

Quality of the meals went down hill fast, currently not being given choices where there had been in past. Overall this is her 3rd facility in 7 years. All have been understaffed. All get you with same/similar sales pitch. You pay a lot of $$ for little assistance and the staff and management change frequently, likely because corporate keeps a higher % than they give to keep employees. Basically the people working there have good intentions but leave when they are spread too thin.

My loved one was previously a resident at Vitality Living Upland Park. Based on our experience I would recommend this facility to others, provided that the cost has not raised that much.

My loved one is a resident at Sunflower Springs Trinity and our experience is highly dependent on the staff at the moment. There has been a lot of staff turnover during the year. Care quality depends on the staff at any one time. At times the staff is excellent and at other times they seem uninvolved. The food in Memory Care is okay, but it is much better in the cafeteria. The activities are poor in Memory Care due to staff turnover. At times, they had staff that did an excellent job. I would give Sunflower Springs Trinity a modest recommendation. It is clean and, for the most part, well run.

Dad has had many falls. His arms and legs stay bruised and scraped up. He is reasonably content in front of a TV or sitting outside. The facilities on call Doctor I believe has good intentions for all the residents and is active in their care. The residents are fed a very small amount of food at a time which is concerning for me (due to lack of nutrition).The help also does not give the residents enough time to finish eating and is often seen picking the plates up with food on them. I think the help should have a more encouraging attitude instead of asking if there done yet. He has definitely declined in the short time he has been there. I have not witnessed a whole lot of interaction with him. It is adequate in performance based on what I have seen at other facilities in the Charleston area. They are extremely short staffed. Which I think contributes to the many falls the lack of diaper changes and soiled bedding.

I would say it's okay for the money paid. There are positives and negatives.

My loved one is on the memory care side and things have improved but would like to see more attention to personal grooming and overall cleanliness.

If a friend asked I'd say that the Colonnade is a decent facility. I question some of the staff and their respect for the residents. Also transportation doesn't seem to be reliable so if you need transportation to get to and from appointments this might not be the place for you.

I think the facility opened before it was staffed properly and equipped administratively. The price should have been scaled until they got it together. I don't think it was in their control . From the expression of staff the issues began at a corporate level. It was so out of order , I even applied to work there.

The staff are great and respond to questions and concerns quickly. I do think they are short staffed. As far as the facility, they have a calendar of activities but few participate so often my parent won't go or they don't have anyone to lead the event. The food is just okay most days and don't always have condiments available. No choice in meals. Everyone eats the same thing.

My MIL lived at Sunflower Springs for over a year before we moved her. It is a beautiful facility and a wonderful apartment. After an adjustment period of getting her medications correct, she was very happy. However, over the past several months, we feel the care has diminished, due to staffing shortages, and minimally trained and underpaid staff. We had issues with her medical management care, response time to falls and had to move her.

There was a fire. We were there. We helped evacuate the residents. It was cold, but they had to wait outside. Staff found tablecloths to cover some of the residents. They were given cold cans of sprite. When the families were informed of the fire, they were told the residents were given warm blankets and coffee. This did not happen.

Very nice, clean facility. Sunflower is continuing to have staff turnover in both management and staff positions. They are friendly. Residents room housekeeping is okay. If resident unable to do any of their own up keep, family members have to assist or request for site housekeeping outside of standard activity. The move in process was fine. Good communications (newsletters and emails). I would recommend the facility, but as always you MUST stay engaged. MUST be visible. ABSOLUTELY MUST advocate for your family member.

I would recommend the facility. A lot will have to do with the individual, though. They have outings and activities. It is a small place, everything on one floor. That was appealing due to possible emergencies, ex: fires. Some of the places that we visited were very nice. But they were multi level buildings. More expensive and second level rooms. That was a no go for us.

I overall think Sunflower is okay. What I don't like is that they're severely understaffed with NO on call certified nurse and the windows don't open. There is currently no activities director for the residents, leaving many of them bored and feeling like they are in prison. I'm there a lot due to low staff, which is hard because I thought things would be easier for me with him there. I'm not sure if we'll stay if things continue this way.

We are disappointed in overall services as they have not lived up to their sales pitch.We picked because of appearance and sales presentation that we felt would meet needs of resident.
