I think they are doing fairly well. They are clean and the staff is friendly. I can't think of anything really that needs to be improved or done better. Overall the reason we picked them because it was the best fit for our situation. We liked the number of residents, and having people to socialize with.

Check it out. It’s a pretty great myself. I don’t have any trouble finding parking at this community. I have noticed my loved one might have some of someone else’s and I just needed to let them know about. They seem to be on top of things.

The staff here really are outstanding, they're very very friendly, great at cooperating with families, and they really go out of their way to make sure all of their residents feel at home. The facility itself is always clean and nice looking, and there is always plenty going on to keep everyone active and entertained!

This is a very nice looking community, when you walk into the lobby the common areas look like a high end hotel! There are some very nice looking common areas with fireplaces and comfortable furniture. It's a smaller community, and it has a very homey feel. Everyone has their own little apartment, which made it a much easier transition for our loved one who had always lived in her own home before this. They've also got a great variety of activities going on all the time.

We visited this property. It was also nice. We really liked the cottages.

We liked it just the same as the community that we ended up choosing, but the other community had better timing when we needed something right away. The staff was friendly and I think that they would have received good care at Horizon Bay.

My dad used to live here. His room was pretty small. We had to buy a refrigerator and microwave for him. He liked The Blake. He thought it was nice but he didn't do a lot of the activities. The people were nice there.

The Emeritus at Carrollwood is very nice. They have great food and a nice environment, but only fair communication with family members. They say they are the place of "no hidden fees" but there are plenty of non-disclosed costs, like $100 fee to set up cable, which there seems to be no reason for. Also, I did not think to ask because all the other facilities I saw offered Wi-Fi but the Emeritus has no Wi-Fi and there is no way to get it here. We were upset to not be contacted when our loved one received a new roommate and that there was no effort on the staff's part to make sure they'd be a good fit for one another. I've seen residents wait up to 20 minutes for assistance after pressing their call button. It is a large facility, there are 120 residents. If your loved one is in need of a high level of care I would be concerned about putting them at Emeritus. Smaller facilities could most likely care for and accommodate high care individuals better. They do have lots of activities for residents and they are working on starting a movie night there.

This is a beautiful facility which I believe is the newest in M'boro at this time. Great setting, but the major downfall was no availability on the first floor. There was an apartment on the second floor close to the elevator but not something I was comfortable with. Great options were available but neither of us would want them on a second level.

I really liked Elmcroft. It was very nice and the separte wing for alzheimer patients would be a good fit for my mom. I really liked that they were together in their own area with dining room and common area. Director was extremely knowledgeable and sat and talked with me for quite some time. This site is at the top of my list.

I had a few issues with their care services. They told me they were going to change his prescription because; they had him on a bunch of anti-psychotics and it took them 6 months and they're just now starting to check it out. So they didn't follow through with it. My dad couldn't walk because they didn't cut his toe nails. I know insurance only covers for it to be done once every four months. I told them I'd pay for that, so that he can walk. He complains about pain in his feet and it seemed like a simple fix. They chose not to do it, because they knew what the problem was. Cost wise, they are a little higher than some of them, but a lot of them looking for easy patients and he isn't one when he gets riled up. A lot of places wouldnt take him because he was refusing meds, but that's apart of dementia. It's a good overall place, but it depends on how your loved one is. If they are an easy going person, there would probably be better places out there because they wont push. If you're looking for a place that has a wing for memory care and assisted living, there are several different levels there. If you're looking for a place where you don't want to move facilities as your loved ones progresses through dementia, then this would be a good place and I'm pretty tough on places. You can put anywhere in here, whether it's for dementia or assisted living. They have a place for every level; so if he needs to go into total bedridden care, they can accommodate that. It's a full meal-deal place, they can house pretty much everything an elderly person is going through. This is based off of their testimonies as my dad has only been in their memory care.

I was not aware that there was little medical care and attention available.

The residents seemed happy and engaged. They didn't have nurses on staff and no Executive Director either.

We are not happy at all with the caregivers in the evenings. There is a shortage of help and my loved one is bedridden and does not get the care that is needed. The day time caregivers are wonderful.

I liked the community, but not the right fit for my loved one.

This review is based when it was Windsong at Rock Creek. I chose this community because of activities offered, their daily routine, and it is a dedicated memory care community. The security was very important and good. We had some issues there, my loved one got accidentally locked in a storage room and nobody knew he was missing or for how long.. It would always take so long to find care, help, or any employees. On paper this community looked a lot better than it was.

I had a good tour of this community, and everyone was very kind. The staff I met was very nice, and friendly. Everything looked very well-kept, it is a nice looking facility. It was a lovely experience, but my mother didn't feel this was the community for her.

My dad is doing good he is still adjusting. They are very compassionate and very friendly. My dad likes to watch others playing domino. I would like a little more interaction for my dad. So he gets more one on one attention.
