On my tour, I only met the sales person. She was great and gave a really good tour. The facility was far closer to my home, so I would have liked for my loved one to go there. But their reviews were horrendous. They did have a new executive director, sales person, and nurse. But I just felt based on the complaints I read about the staff, unless they were going to fire all the caretakers, there wouldn't be the complete culture change that was necessary. They were cheaper than the place we chose, in addition to being closer, so I’m definitely going to check back there after some time has passed to see what changes might have taken place.

I have enjoyed living in this community. The food is good. I hope one day to relocate in my home on James Island on Fort Lamar Road.

Brookdale is far superior to the previous facility I stayed at.

The food quality and how it is presented is just not good, the entire meals and dining service is not appealing. This community is not good for residents who want independent living and who can fully function on their own. It is strictly for those who needed extra assistance and memory care. The kitchens in the apartments are very small, and I only have a high sized refrigerator that works only half the time.

Seagrass Village was good but a little pricey. Like a lot of places, they're experiencing staffing issues due to Covid.

The staff were great at this community and the facilities were good but we wanted to check out a newer community and it was lower in cost.

I am very pleased with this community. I am very happy that we found it, the new director introduced herself and I was glad that she was open. I was nervous at first due to the loss of people that we were familiar with for our loved one but everything has been going fine so far.

Our family had an in person tour and it is a newer facility so the tour was good. They offered up a lot of information, but it was more expensive then others in the area.

This is a great community. The staff are very helpful, caring, and attentive to my loved one. However, it is hard to get the management to call us back or respond to emails. The billing invoices aren't being sent to us; however, they tell us to go to the portal to view our bill. It seems that the staff at the front desk are poorly trained, informed, and have no personality. If I had to it all over again, I would choose Beacon again. They are really, really good at what they do.

My loved one is not able to participate in activities however, there does seem to be a lot of activities. This is a good location and price for this community. Most of the staff really care about what they are doing .

The layout of the facility was good and I liked that along with the accessibility. The community is short-staffed but that is an issue everywhere. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

The Colonnade was beautiful, clean and residents seemed happy and friendly. Only issue for me was the cost of respite care/memory care is $225/day with a 2 week minimum stay. Also monthly cost is $4,200 for companion studio. More expensive than I expected, based on the original info provided.

It depends on the desire of your family member to become involved. My loved one has become reclusive and misses out on all of the activities. There are upcharges for many of the in-room services. The base price is outstanding compared to other facilities, but all of the little things add up and can become significant. With Covid, they've been short-staffed. For a while, they had very limited staff and limited food services, but they seem to have recovered. They've brought in a few new folks that are still learning their way around, but most of the staff are outstanding.

I think it's a very nice place to live. The facilities are top notch. It's new, well decorated, bright, and cheery, The staff is friendly. The people are nice. It's a pet-friendly community. They have an adequate amount of activities. The food is average, but t I'm happy here.

Being out of town, we haven't been able to visit to much but the feedback i have heard is that our loved one is very satisfied with the activities. Our loved one likes that there is an outside garden area and the grounds of the community are very pretty. The rooms are very nice and have big bathrooms. The only reason we gave this community a 4 out of 5, is sometimes its hard to get a hold of the staff so the can track down our loved one so we can speak with her. We do know they get busy, but other than that we would recommend this community to families where this will fit their needs.

I recommended the community to a friend. My mom loves it here. It is extremely clean, the staff is wonderful and friendly. Some of the response time could be improved to the resident's call buttons. The staff are efficient, as well.

We toured The Villas during covid so we were unable to see the whole facility. They do keep the assisted living and independent living residents completely separate. We did really like it and it was our 2nd choice. We were able to sample the food and it was fantastic. It did seem to be outdated and darker than some others that we looked into. We had a friend who had a loved one here and they had a bad experience which drew us away from it.

The staff is very friendly, and overall the care is good. There are occasions where they take a little bit too long to get to my loved one, according to her. But overall she's pleased with the level of service. She tells me that the food is consistently good. Really the only thing she doesn't like is hotdog day. Because of Covid, they haven't been able to get out much, but she plays bingo and enjoys that. It's a clean, quiet environment. The security is good. I would recommend them to others.

It's a beautiful facility. For the specific needs of my family member, it has worked out very well. She needs minimal care at this point. So I can't necessarily judge based on the higher levels of care, but for her level of care, it's been good. They keep the residents engaged. They've been very good about Covid. They've had very few infections in the last year and a half. The food is good. It's like being at a restaurant. They have decent choices, and great desserts. Everybody there seems to like the food. I would recommend Village Veranda. I have some reservations based on dealings with some staff members who have not been on the ball. But overall, I would highly recommend them.
