Emeritus at Carrollwood has exceeded my expectations. My family had a very difficult decision to make as to what ALF to move my mother to. She has lived in her own home for many years. After consulting with all her doctors about her failing memory and difficulty handling her affairs we concluded that it was time to move her. I investigated all the facilities in the area and concluded that Emeritus was the best place for my mother. The leadership, expertise and caring attitude that Kay, Kristie and Michelle displayed (in management) has made the move a wonderful transition for my mom. The staff could not be more caring. I can honestly say that they ALL go the extra mile to make the residents feel at home. The facility is beautiful, clean and inviting. Will and Daniel worked VERY hard to make my mom's room just what she wanted it to be. Since my mother moved is 3 weeks ago I have seen a positive change in her mood, energy and zest for life. She has new friends, activities, and LOVES the food. I am so grateful to Emeritus for making my mom's golden years a time where she can have a much better quality of life than living on her own.

There is a lack of cultural and religious variety. The food is okay. It’s new for me. There is a nice outside area is nice. There’s no view though. We chose it because it was conveniently located. We need to get some exercise options for my dad though.

We really liked it here. It was set up like a motel. It probably was at one time. For the price it was very good. It included meals and housekeeping, and even a few transportation assistances. It is an independent community, if you need some help with care, you need to hire a personal care assistant on your own.

The Blake at Gulf Breeze is where my grandmother lived for over a year in the memory care side. The staff was so compassionate and caring towards all the residents when I went to visit her on a regular basis. The nurses were well educated and knew exactly what to do to assist the other residents for their daily requests. The building was just like a 5 star Ritz Carlton hotel and was just as gorgeous inside. My grandmother always raved about how good the food was as well as how attentive the staff was to her every need. I would highly recommend The Blake at Gulf Breeze for anyone to house their loved ones to retire at.

My mother-in-law lived at The Blake at Gulf Breeze. She absolutely loved it and the staff were attentive, caring and competent. As a Registered Nurse, I communicated closely with the wellness team and I always found the staff to be genuinely concerned for the residents and family members. She loved having meals with her friends in the dining room and she participated in the activity program on a regular basis. Our extended family often had meals at The Blake which created meaningful memories that still bring peace of mind to me and my wife. I have toured every assisted living facility in the area and The Blake was superior on every level.

We are extremely happy!! They are super clean and friendly. They have always been very quick to respond to any needs or concerns. When we were visiting, Kristy's professionalism was really appreciated, she was able to answer all of our questions. The community sold itself. Since I can't really see anything that needs to be improved or done better, if I am trying to find something and being super picky, they could check in with us with an email or a call, from time to time and let us know that she is adjusting well, and doing good. We are out of state and that would be reassuring.

We toured this facility when we were looking into care options for our loved one. We were very impressed by what we saw here, it was a gorgeous facility! The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and looked like they provided great care. However it ended up being out of our price range after the additional care expenses were tacked on to the price.

This place is very clean, the people are very nice, and they provide wonderful care. My only complaint would have been a lack of variety in the activities, but the activities director has really been working on that and things have already improved! And the food looks great! They serve one main meal, and then a few smaller meals and snacks throughout the day.

We were in the unfortunate position of having to find a new place for my Mom but wanted a place that could also accommodate my Dad as well. He insisted that he move with Mom. We called "A Place For Mom" and within hours they had a couple of places for us to look at. The Villas At Canterfield is an outstanding facility. The staff, from administrators to care givers are fantastic. They actually had a room that was much better for them than their previous facility which we really hated to have to leave. Overall, a very troubling situation was made so much easier thanks to "A Place For Mom" and The Villas At Canterfield!

This was a luxury place. They had a mahogany bar, leather in the cinema. I didn't like that they had open stairwells though. It was beautiful with the paintings and the woodwork.

My husband spent four months at the Villas before he passed away. Before that he was in another facility that we knew after two weeks we had to find another place. I am so thankful for someone telling me about the Villas. As soon he moved in I knew that they would take good care of him. The caregivers there were so warm and thoughtful. They were always there to take care of his every need. When he did not get up to go eat they were there seeing that he received some nourishment. After he was put in the hospital the rehab we were told by the social worker at the rehab he needed to go to a Nursing Home. I went back to the Villas and spoke with the Director, Dusty Gunn, he told me not too worry he could come back there and they would take care of him. He returned on a Sunday afternoon and died the next day, but in that 24 hour period they were in his room checking on him every hour even though Hospice was there and just comforting my husband. I felt so good knowing that my husband had so many people. Around him at the end telling him how very much they enjoyed getting to know him and that he was very special to them. Thank you everyone at the Villas for taking such good care of my husband. I recommend the Villas Of Canterfield very highly.

All I can rate is the appearance, and it's lovely place, but I don't know about the care or food. All they said was that he didn't qualify. It was a very, very nice facility but strictly assisted living, they couldn't handle combative behavior.

Very happy with facility ,meals and activities. Wish they had guarantied resized beds.

Daddy's in the memory unit, before he was in the memory unit he was ruminating thinking he was back in WWII and thought he went AWOL. The memory unit is called Clarebridge, he has his own room, he is happy as a clam, he doesn't talk about the military and the other people who are with him are just as sweet as can be. He goes to lunch now with other people and they go to red lobster, applebees, mexican... all that. They have great activities and in fact, I'm helping with the Halloween party. Everybody tolerates my dad, my dad is the dad that goes into other people's rooms and sleeps in other peoples beds but they're all so sweet about it. The rooms have their own thermostats and in the dining room the men wear these vests, not a bib, to catch the food and they have a lot of things they can do if they want. Everybody gets to know you and every second Sunday I take the epopel who work with daddy baked goods and things like that, I can rest at night and they're taking care of daddy, it's important. Janet was so nice and everybody bent over backwards.

My loved one enjoys living at The Blake. The activities, food and compassionate staff have created a new "life" for my loved one.

I liked the way Horizon Bay is set up. The Building Care Unit is a rectangle with rooms on the outside and everything else is in the middle. The residents can also go outside and wander around the property on enclosed paths. The people there are good, friendly, and professional.

Had tour today. I was shown both the assisted living and memory care areas. I was told my mother would be evaluated to be able to tell me what section would be right for her. My sister thinks my mother may need a skilled nursing facility.

Moved my mom in a few days ago and it was like moving in to an apartment. Had a really home like feeling. Was not like she was moving in to a hospital type setting. The food is really good and there is a big variety to pick from. The location is in a quiet setting with nice views. The surrounding area has nearby doctors and hospital.
