Spring Hills

My mother has only been at Spring Hill for a short time, but I can safely say, her life has improved in many ways. She loves the people, who are friendly, professional, and warm. The food is wonderful and the daily activities along with just chatting with other residents has made a significant difference in her life. My family is looking forward to a continued outstanding experience for her.

The person who was the in-take person did a marvelous job. They were very understanding and sympathetic, and helped us through a difficult time. They were very, very helpful and seemed to be able to provide the atmosphere that my loved one has begun to expect.

What a wonderful experience for my first time looking into long term care for my mother. Tessa was welcoming and informative. I truly appreciated her compassion and candor. I observed a clean facility, staff was engaged with the residents and the atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant. The dining room and menu is quite impressive. Exactly the "home like" setting that I desire. I am grateful for the information shared and also the acknowledgment of the magnitude of this decision for us. This is a definite consideration for us as we approach the time of transitioning for mom.

My father was a resident at Spring Hills Middletown for 2 ½ years. During that time, he came to think of the Spring Hills as his home and the people that work there (the aides, nurses, cooks and other support staff) as his family. As a result of the love that was shown to my father, I would recommend Spring Hills Middletown to anyone looking for an Assisted Living facility for their loved one. Residents are treated with respect and dignity, the facility is clean, the food is excellent.

My dad has been here for over a year. We chose Spring-Hills based on several recommendations. We have not been disappointed. The activities director is the best I have ever seen. My dad requires the top level of care, and he has never had a complaint about any member of the staff. The facility is always comfortable and clean. There is a resident concierge who corresponds with both residents and family members. The bottom line is that my dad is really happy here. This was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I moved my Father into Spring Hill Mount Vernon several months ago. The staff is wonderful. They take great care of him, are very friendly, and truly care about his wellbeing. The facilities and activities are great as well and he loves the food (especially the French Fries). I couldn’t ask for better place for him.

My father-in-law is new to Spring Hills. We just moved him in about a week ago from another ALF in the area. One thing that impressed us was there a lot of the employees have worked there for several years. For example, one of the CNA's has been there over 20 years. I think that says something about the corporation and the facility itself. We had a family Christmas dinner there last night. Our son is going away for the holidays and wanted to see his grandpa before he left. We told Spring Hills there would be 3 extra guests. We were pleasantly surprised to see they had reserved the private dining area for us. It was set up so nicely with fancy linens and there was Christmas music playing. The food was delicious and our son couldn't get over how extensive the menu was. The best part was our waiter, Gabriel. He was wonderful. Very customer oriented and just a pleasure. He made the evening so special for our family. He said he has worked there for two years. I think Spring Hills know what to do to make their residents happy.

Mom is getting much better care at Spring Hills of Lake Mary than she has in other places. The food is phenomenal. We couldn't believe how good the food is. And the place is very clean and beautiful. Any time anybody has any questions or issues, the social worker there is full of helpful information and always wiling to assist. She was one of the main reasons I moved mom there. Mom has not been in there very long so our experience is somewhat limited, but thus far it has been a good overall experience.

I was very upset about placing my mother in a long term care facility, until I had a tour of Spring Hills. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff is and how much they care for the residents, as if they were their own family. This facility is like no other I have visited. The cleanliness, the way they nuture each resident as an individual. A burden was lifted when I placed my mother in Spring Hills, she could not be anywhere else for the excellent care she is receiving. After visiting my mother, I always leave knowing she is in good hands and I don't have to worry about her well-being. I would recommend Springs HIlls to anyone needing a home for their loved one!

Very clean, light and airy, very friendly and helpful. It feels like a family atmosphere ;it's easy to make new friends there. The staff there are excellent!

Our initial interaction with them was great, the staff members we dealt with were providing all of the information and details we needed, always had answers to our questions. I was also really impressed with the follow-through; they would always follow-up with handwritten thank you notes in the mail after any tour or visit. They really seemed to care about how you felt, and genuinely wanted to know what they could to help. Employees were even willing to stop by my house if I wasn't able to make an appointment!

My mom has lived here for over a year and I can't say enough good things about the wonderful staff. All of the people who work here genuinely care about their residents and treat them like family. My mom thanks me all of the time for finding her this wonderful place to live and that she is so happy to be living there. The community is very cozy and comfortable.

I have toured and visited this facility in more than 3 occasions and the staff has been absolutely wonderful, understanding and professional each and every time we have needed guidance and support. Having dedicated professionals in the different areas/departments leads me to believe that I have chosen the right place for my loved one.

Very friendly, caring and homey atmosphere. Wide variety of daily activities to choose from. Food is prepared by Chef and made to order with dietary concerns. The care is very caring and concerns are delayed to family as needed. The rooms are kept very clean. From the moment you walk in you know your not in a "nursing" facility. We chose this facility for the memory care unit that is available. My family is very happy we choose this for our loved one and would highly recommend this for your family member.

My mom is at Spring Hills and I can't say enough good things about it. Not only is it a clean and beautiful place.. but the staff is very friendly and respectful and helpful. You can tell that the staff really cares about the people and that is such an important factor. Spring Hills is managed well and the Administrator bends over backwards to make sure the residents are happy and cared for. He is a rare breath of fresh air.

To date, from our personnel observations of the facility and interactions with the employees during our visits with Mom, we are extremely satisfied with the facility and the staff. Mom is still acclimating to the change from living at home. This transition at times has been difficult, but in time it is our hope that she will realize that although it is not home it is a safe alternative. One of the high points of the facility is the availability of in house rehab services. This has been extremely beneficial to Mom's well being and progress since the stroke . One other plus that stands out relative the facility is that Mom's apartment has direct access to an outside courtyard. She will enjoy this feature greatly when the weather changes.

It's very clean, very nice, the staff is very friendly. They have a really nice wellness center so if mom has the sniffles she can go there and they have a physical therapist and occupational therapy and a speech and memory specialist on staff as well as the nurse and her assistants so the care is very good. They have things going on throughout the day so she's pretty active. It's nice because they don't force her to do it, they suggest it and if she doesn't want to participate that's fine, she can go to her room and watch tv or write letters, but they do suggest it and encourage her to go. This is her first time away from her home that she was in for over 40 years, so she's having a hard time dealing with that, but she knows it's best for her care. They could improve on their availability; I'm having to deal with the time difference and all that, so having to call to talk to the director or the nurse and a lot of the time their voicemail is full. One nice thing is they will take her to her doctor appointments and she gets her prescriptions free through the military and they let her use that.

spring hill mount vernon really has their act together. from the moment my wife and i walked thru the doors on our first day for our tour until today, the feeling of caring was felt by us. not only are they caring for my wife, but they are giving me much support during my transition period of adjusting without her at my side every day for the last 54+ years. the employees at spring hill really care and they love their interaction.

Based on your several recommendations the decision was made to place my daughter ([name removed]) at Springhills Somerset Memory Care. It’s now been six weeks and we are extremely pleased with her progress, she’s been provided with speech, occupational and physical therapy; she smiles more and is able to say a few words. The facility and her room are always clean and comfortable; the staff is friendly and accommodating. My family and I would like to thank “A Place for Mom” for their service and the support they provide to families when they are at their lowest and in need of assistance . Thank you.

It's a very nice place but really expensive. They also seem to be a little short handed at times. I toured it and was impressed.
