Spring Hills

It's very clean, very nice, the staff is very friendly. They have a really nice wellness center so if mom has the sniffles she can go there and they have a physical therapist and occupational therapy and a speech and memory specialist on staff as well as the nurse and her assistants so the care is very good. They have things going on throughout the day so she's pretty active. It's nice because they don't force her to do it, they suggest it and if she doesn't want to participate that's fine, she can go to her room and watch tv or write letters, but they do suggest it and encourage her to go. This is her first time away from her home that she was in for over 40 years, so she's having a hard time dealing with that, but she knows it's best for her care. They could improve on their availability; I'm having to deal with the time difference and all that, so having to call to talk to the director or the nurse and a lot of the time their voicemail is full. One nice thing is they will take her to her doctor appointments and she gets her prescriptions free through the military and they let her use that.

spring hill mount vernon really has their act together. from the moment my wife and i walked thru the doors on our first day for our tour until today, the feeling of caring was felt by us. not only are they caring for my wife, but they are giving me much support during my transition period of adjusting without her at my side every day for the last 54+ years. the employees at spring hill really care and they love their interaction.

I thought they did a good job of getting [name removed] out and about from her room. At some point there were no hand soap in the bathrooms which is a HUGE problem in senior home. Staff said supply issues were happening and asked us to complain to management. Staff was very caring. There have been a lot of management and head nurse change overs. It started off with a monthly newsletter and keeping us the family involved but last six months those have stopped. We have no idea what activities are happening. Furthermore there is no liaison (or portal) reviewing doctors appt, general updates on care, pictures of what's happening. NOTHING. We had to call several times to the head nurse to call us back to discuss [name removed] medical health. And when [name removed] was sent to the hospital, for some strange reason they called our house phone and left a message on the voicemail. We never got the message. They usually call our cell phones for things. And should have kept trying all our numbers for something as serious as a hospital visit. But did not. We didn't find out [name removed] was in the hospital until 2 days later when the Doctor at St. Barnabas called to discuss her status. Very disappointing in decline of staff service. Someone def dropped the ball there. I think for [fee removed] a month more communication between head nurse and facility to families is needed

The staff was lovely. There were little challenges with the room like the door lock never worked properly.

Relatively good experience. Administration and the director of nursing are not good at responding to concerns. Takes weeks to ever get anything done. The dining hall can be a disaster. Days they have no bread for toast or sandwiches, days with no coffee. Nursing staff and the aides all seem very helpful and friendly

The director of nursing is always very responsive when I've had questions or brought up concerns and addressed any issues quickly and without excuses. The staff is very friendly and know the patients well and there doesn't seem to be a lot of staff turnover. Overall it's a nice environment and very secure.

Staff communicate well and are pleasant & attentive to residents. Laundry is not always attended to in a timely manner

Based on your several recommendations the decision was made to place my daughter ([name removed]) at Springhills Somerset Memory Care. It’s now been six weeks and we are extremely pleased with her progress, she’s been provided with speech, occupational and physical therapy; she smiles more and is able to say a few words. The facility and her room are always clean and comfortable; the staff is friendly and accommodating. My family and I would like to thank “A Place for Mom” for their service and the support they provide to families when they are at their lowest and in need of assistance . Thank you.

It's a very nice place but really expensive. They also seem to be a little short handed at times. I toured it and was impressed.

I would say that it is a nice place, clean and they take good care of the residents

Staff was very kind and I was excited about the activities. The apartment was perfect for her. She changed her mind and we never took the keys. We are frustrated, but trying to meet mom where she’s at.

Since my mom moved into Spring Hills Somerset, the facility has gone through 3 different Directors. My go to people for communication have been the nurses. Different higher ups have made it difficult to count on them, to be honest. Housekeeping is good, food is fine, there is always something going on for activities. I am there 2-3 times/week at different times, so I meet different staff at various shifts. The nurses are organized and by the book, which I appreciate; professional. I like that it is a smaller facility. I have gotten to know several residents by name. My mom loves her space. The cost is crazy, but seems to be lower than other "chain" facilities. I am confused a bit on what the parameters are for assisted living versus memory care. Some of the residents that I see in the assisted living unit seem like they need much more hands on care, that the memory unit upstairs at Spring Hills I assume, provides. I would recommend this facility and always encourage families to constantly monitor. Overall, I do like it for Mom, but I am always watching.

The staff is very friendly and approachable. I feel I can them with questions and any issues. Also, by having an executive director in place in the past several months, it's been much better in terms of communication and having someone in charge to communicate our concerns. As far as the food goes - They could give more nutritious snacks and less sweet treats.

My loved one is currently a resident at Spring Hills Livingston and overall things have been good. The cleanliness of the facility is good, the cleanliness of her room is okay. The restaurant is good, but the food on the third floor is just okay.

Dad didn't particularly like the food, however Spring Hills Hunters Creek community was excellent. I was very happy with them. If it wasn't for a bigger room elsewhere, we would have stayed there. The staff. They are very caring. We would definitely recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had.

The staff are the key to the success and experience I would definitely recommend Spring Hills of Lake Mary to others.

What our family likes the most about the Spring Hills Singing Woods community is it seems that everyone is well cared for. The staff members are all responsive to the families needs.

We love the activities they offer for the residents to participate in, and we also like all the staff members they have working there as well as the privacy (private room) offered by Spring Hills Somerset.

Family member does not partake in any activities- his loss. Based on our experience so far, the management was very responsive and worked closely with us to get the family member transferred there and settled in.

Our family had an in person tour with Spring Hills Mount Vernon and we thought it was a great tour experience. It was quite similar to [community name removed] however it was just much more expensive [fee removed] more. Would recommend either depending on need and finances
