They are overpriced and understaffed to the extreme. They misrepresented who they would have available on staff. When we first brought my friend in, we were told there would be a 24/7 nurse on staff. Later on when he broke his hip, they had no nurse on staff or any other medical personnel in the building. Regardless of credentials, there was no one around for me to call out to for help, so I had to hunt somebody down, and they called the fire department. The room he was in was not clean. His toilet and sink were unclean to the point that I felt the need to clean it. There was no timeliness to housekeeping services. I had previously experienced a different facility with a family member of mine, and that facility was great - far superior to what we experienced here at Canopy.

Allegro Winter Park was not a good fit for our family member. We had several areas of concern. First, the facility has no limited nursing license so they default to sending residents to the hospital. Staff did not consistently check on residents every two hours, per regulation. Staff did not respond consistently to the emergency pull located in the bathroom. Several times when we asked a staff member for help they said they would return to help and then never did. It is near impossible to get administrators on the phone because very few (only one) was willing to provide a direct line; voicemail boxes were often full so it was not possible to leave a message. On several occasions when we called the main number we were hung up on. In sum, communication from the facility was very poor. In fact, on one occasion our family member was taken by EMS to the local hospital and no one from the facility ever notified us, which is unacceptable. I would not recommend this community.

We thought it was good in the beginning, but there were things occurring we didn't know about at first. I would not recommend them. We experienced theft - our loved one's rings were literally taken right off of her hand. They were short in staff, and she was not getting the are she needed. They said they would do things and never did them. One Friday night, her fire alarm battery kept beeping in her room, and they told her she would have to deal with it until Monday when maintenance was there. We ended up having to take care of it ourselves. If a person didn't have family able to monitor things, I can't imagine what it would be like. For a very fragile population, it's sad that they don't improve their services.

We didn't see people around at all, so we didn't get to see any communication between the staff and the residents. The one time we saw residents, they were kind of just "not there."

I was not impressed with them at all. It really felt like a traditional nursing home. When you walk in, the smell of body odor hits you right in the face. I knew right away this wasn’t the place I would put my mom. Surprisingly, there was not that much of a difference in cost compared to the place that we chose, which was so much nicer.

Father-in-law had respite care there for a week. Leadership staff unavailable for a week during off site training. Facility didn't seem to be ready for patients.

My husband went to the “cottage” The day I took him there, no one to actually him in (knew he was coming). Had to fight 3 days to get room from 72 to 77 degrees. The Director of the cottage has ice water in her veins. The place wasn’t what they tell you when you visit. Pulled my husband out after one week. They more interested in doing decorations than taking care of individuals. When I wrote the letter saying I was pulling my husband out, no one ever contacted me, saying anything about being concerned. Apparently all they were concerned about was they had my money.

If I could give Alto at Walden Woods 0 stars, I absolutely would. This facility should honestly be called the “Roach Motel” because the conditions are disgusting and unacceptable for the elderly residents who live there. The rooms are dirty, moldy, and full of cockroaches running in and out like it’s normal. Residents in memory care are constantly being neglected, left sitting wet for long periods of time while workers sit behind the cameras vaping instead of actually watching and caring for the residents the way they are supposed to. The facility is always short staffed, especially in memory care where only 1–2 workers are expected to care for over 20 residents at a time, and half of those residents are wheelchair-bound and completely dependent on staff for everything. Showers barely get done, medications are never administered correctly, and basic care is constantly overlooked. Management clearly plays favorites with employees and talks down to residents. Plz dont put ur family here

Attending staff is great but, I would not call them nursing. Something happened that I intend to find out about because when she went to the hospital we found out today from nurse [Name Removed] that the only way the EMS Paramedics revived her was with narcan.

My mom absolutely hated Alto but is now at [community removed] and really liked it. Every aspect of [community removed] is so much better. The staff at Alto did not advocate for the residents and it was a nightmare for our family while my mom was there.

The assisted living side is good, but the memory care side.....I would not recommend for anyone. They do not have enough workers to take care of how many residents are living there. Most of the residents sit in the little lobby watching TV all day until it's time to go back to retire to their rooms. What a life!!! I feel there isn't enough effort to try and help these residents reach their potential. My mom was losing all muscle control in her legs from being in a wheelchair all day then put to bed. She was almost bedridden which I fault this company for. We moved her and guess what.... she is walking to the bathroom on her own now. I would not recommend this place at all!!!!

It is a beautiful place and a great concept- they just do not have enough staffing CNAs/Med Techs/ Transport people etc We felt very mislead. The sales staff may not know about the staffing situation and that it can take up to two hours to answer a call from a resident's communication device, for restroom need. There are also many falls unreported. Our Dad was there less than a month and fell three times and were only told about two.

1 = 1 2 = 4 other than when they let my sister sit in her urine and it trailed across the floor 3 = 4 some where friendly 4 = 2 the women in charge of the cottage made fun of anyone who helped my sister. 5 = not sure 6 = never gave her enough water 7 = 1. Activities were on the calendar but never happened. 8 = 1 after her second trip to the hospital my sister brought her home. My impression is they don't care about the memory care patients. Visiting is just getting a sales pitch. That is why they set up a time. It was sad because we had thought we found a great place.

Pricing goes up constantly Billing involves overcharging. Mgmt dismissive Intent of eviction is frequent if you challenge billing errors,send emails if neglect of running out of meds, not checking every 2 hrs overnight, Filthy room, stopped up toilets,rarely give 2-5 min. To talk to resident just to say they care. In and out. Cut call bell off and tell resident they will be right back and they rarely due but reset call bell so timing on respond is in their favor. Management turnover is constant. 2 directors 3 activity directors 3 head of nursing , housekeeping shortage tech shortages etc. All in 1 yr. Very rundown facility inside and out. BEWARE lots of vacancies

My mother only stayed there one month. It was so bad I had to pull her out of there. I was promised things that my mother would receive and never did. They told her if she wanted to eat she had to leave the room. So I was bringing my mother food that was supposed to be served instead I was having to bring her food. She was supposed to get a beeper to get ahold of staff. They told my mother if she fell down craw to the bathroom room and pull the emergency cord. I never did get my deposit back nothing. That has got be the armpit of the world. They were rude called me a liar to my face. That's one thing I can not stand for is a liar. And that's exactly what they did to me. They would serve cokes and anything they wanted. The people down stairs were my mother was you only get tea or water. It was like I was putting her in prison bread and water only. Upstairs you order anything you want. They treated my and my whole family with disrespect but took my deposit after treating me and my family like crap and I do mean crap . Since that time my mother passed in may of this year. If it wasn't for going back and forth to Tennessee I would have sued them for everything they have. But I was trying to take care of my mother. I never would have thought that anybody could be as heartless and cruel to a person. I would not recommend this place to keep a dog. It was so so bad people in the hallway peeing on their self and nurses walking right by it was pathetic. I could go on but that alone was bad enough.

The activities are very juvenile. The staff is less than friendly and not helpful. The food is basically horrible and very unhealthy. There is so much salt on everything. All they care about is making money. They do not care about the well being or comfort of their residents. It is despicable how they never advocate for their residents.
