Our family had an urgent situation. I looked at six places. Two knew I was there, four did not. I am a retired nurse, and worked in a similar facility. As for Georgetown: no odors when I walked in the door. Great staff interaction with residents. Smiles abounded. The dining room experience was wonderful. Love the restaurant style. Our brother-in-law has PTSD. The open spaces are amazing! No narrow halls and rooms are spacious. This is the best place for him!

My mom moved in about a month ago. The entire staff have been friendly and helpful throughout. The room has been recently updated. We were delighted at the number and variety of activities offered. The views out the eastern side of the building are the best.

Happy to know our dad has a safe place to be. Gets the help he needs enjoys the staff and residence. Always activities to keep him busy.

What we like the most about Independence Village is that everyone seems to know each other from the director on down. I know there are many "eyes" on my mom and that is comforting. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families.

Overall a very nice facility. Staff are very nice. Our concern is with activities. There are no activities or very limited activities on the weekends. The residents are bored on weekends. I have found that during the weekly activities, our parent is not being asked to attend it or reminded of what is going on. It would be very helpful if you would remind your residents of the daily happenings. Thank you.

Villa Santa Barbara has been wonderful in taking-in our Mom and Dad. The staff are patient, listening and make an effort to help the new residents adjust. The facility is clean and odor-free. There are numerous activities and outings that residents can take advantage. The rooftop space is beautiful and available for residents to take a breath and soak-up the fresh air. There is always a lot for our parents to eat and they love “Chef [name removed]”. I cannot recommend Villa Santa Barbara strongly enough.

I would just like to start off by thanking this community, they have embraced my grandma since the moment she arrived! The community's friendliness is outmatched! Between the wonderful staff and the kindness of residents, this place has truly helped my grandma feel like home. As soon as she arrived, everyone was greeting her and asking her about her life. I have worked in this industry and I have never gone into such a welcoming and accommodating community. The sales team completely blew my mind with how flexible and attentive they are, Maintenance and Housekeeping have gotten good comments from my grandma (she might have a crush on a maintenance man)!

We're happy to have found Waterford - we feel our mom is well taken care of. My dad passed his 1st night there and staff was a tremendous help and very caring. I've actually eaten there and it's been very good! Generous portions too! The other residents seem happy and are very friendly. So, although my mom haven't been there long - so far - so good! We've met residents who have been there for years!

I think everything that has been numbered is true and excellent. Whitley Place has been the best place for my husband and I can't ask for anything better. It sure beats a place he was before.

Staff is very friendly. Residents express a good feeling. Activities Department is fabulous. I enjoy all of the outings. I go to all events that are offered. Some apartments could use a refresh maintenance quickly addresses issues.

The staff are wonderful, caring people. They are very loving and very involved with the residents. The setting is very nice, inside and out. I have been volunteering here for years, and this is the best staff I have seen.

Overall good place to live.

Honestly, I'd rate each category a 5, except the food & the only reason is - a better variety would be better. Also have menu options for diabetics. I've been very impressed with everything else.

The Heritage does a good job taking care of the residents in Independent Living. The staff is attentive. The residents are happy. Socializing is encouraged. The food could be better. The chairs are too large for most of the little old lady resident.

I live at Villa for past 13 months and glad I do. Being a single man 69 years old and never cooked I’ve had 1000 meals with our wonderful chef and food is excellent and new menu every week. Most people ask me is the food good and I say wonderful and all homemade by chef [name removed]. Villa is very clean with housekeeping weekly with fresh sheets and towels is important. The location in downtown Santa Barbara and four blocks from State street with a lot of stores and our beautiful courthouse with a lot of weddings. Walking is easy and flat and I go daily to get outside. The area is safe with no issues and sometimes meet folks from around the world. I’m staying at Villa long term as I’m 69 years old and plan 10 years I tell my daughter I call Villa home and sure glad I found it for this chapter in my life which is important to my daughter also

I was attracted to them because of the indoor parking. Availability for assisted living if needed. Washer and dryer in my apartment as well on my floor at no charge. Friendly and well informed staff. Availability of help pendant for wear and throughout my apartment. Just a great place to live I would recommend to others. I visited here several times before making my decision. Know before you visit what you need.

I gave the administration a lower score because my mom has still not received an invoice for apartment after several months living there. My mom is happy there.

I love living here, time are so many things to do everyday, including exercises trivia games, card games and other things to keeps out mind active. Physical therapy is available with your doctors consent on the site at Keystone Woods. Employees' are concerned with the residents and treat each one of us as they would their own family. I feel safe here and loved.

It’s no surprise why Independence Village of East Lansing is ranked high on the list as one of the best places to live! They understand their residents and do everything they can to engage everyone. They are quick to solve any issues and they are all very friendly, too! The only thing I still question is the seating chart for meals, as this limits residents from meeting more people. I also think the more gregarious residents should be told about new residents and encouraged to knock on their doors and help them integrate into all of the activities available to them. As an aside, I wish the apartments had overhead lighting, as it can be very confusing to some on what plug to use to connect a lamp to a light switch. Finally, while the food seems balanced, the kitchen should try and introduce new things periodically to mix it up. All in all, I’m glad I chose IVEL for my loved one; I do think she likes it there; I just want her to meet more residents to develop some new friendships.
