First and foremost The Woodlands of Hamilton has its pros and cons If you have loved ones whom Needs memory care do not take them to The Woodlands of Hamilton! The memory care coordinator is very rude with a bad attitude and doesn’t care for our loved ones. The staff there is over worked with no help. Activities aren’t great either. The Only positive things are the place is clean and The Assistant living wing seems to have more activity’s going on then the memory care! My mother will be moving soon.

Exercise due diligence & dig deep! Research the company not just the location.

I deeply regret ever putting my mother in this place. I never received any paperwork on her care treatment plan even though I asked repeatedly. Communication is horrible. Her shower chair disappeared and was never found. How do you lose a shower chair!?! Found a prescription bottle in my mom's bathroom cabinet that did not belong to her nor are they allowed in residents' room. The director, [Name removed], response when I spoke with her about it was "oh it's expired." I had home healthcare prior to putting her in this facility. I kept them for a couple of months for the transition. Even though Courtyards was being well compensated for the care of my mother they refused to work together thru the transition period with the home healthcare staff. I discussed this in a meeting with the director and it do absolutely no good. Empty promises. I wasted $350+ on cameras for my mom's room because she begin falling. I informed the director of this. Not once did she tell me their internet service is antiquated. Corporate was no help either. So cameras were never used. It's just a numbers game. Fill the rooms. [Name removed], the marketing director paints a pretty picture. The low rating on the Care is not for the nursing staff but the admin. I can't rate since I have no clue what kind of care she was getting. High turnover rate. They hire poor quality no skills people because they are so short staffed all the time. There were additional issues but these were the more serious issues I experienced. My next review will be on [Name removed]which was recommended by [Name removed]. Another regret I have.

Fecal Matters!!!

My father stayed at the assisted living for approximately 2 months. He was very isolated did not do well! Nurses and med asst were not friendly or careing. We also moved him into memory care unit. He done very poorly there also. Got very sick and had to be moved to another nursing home after 2 months , because memory care unit nurses could not monitors IV medication . Once moved to Providence my dad was very sick and never recovered. The nursing staff informed me my dad had fecal matter under both fingernails which had to be soaked to get out. Do Not Send A Loved One Here!!!

Just horrible

Horrible place. The director is completely unprofessional. The staff steals from residents and jokes about being able to go into rooms. I’m guessing this place will be closing soon. Especially with the wrongful death lawsuit from MDH last year.

Elder abuse

Again I write to comment on the conditions in this facility. The food continues to be the main problem. My relative needs to have food delivered as she is unable to get to the dining room. The food she receives is barely able to sustain life. I consider the lack of edible food abuse. Why is this place not investigated?

Pick another place

If you love your family members, do not send them to Woodlands of Hamilton. This place was awful to mine. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Do your homework. Go visit for a few hours. When you have people working in the memory care wing that are impatient with people, that is a huge sign that they have no compassion. Do not send your family to this place.

I am very disappointed in this community. We were lead to believe they had an active life style and very friendly caring place. Not true on any of these things. There have no activities unless the seniors start and run them themselves. The place does not help the seniors fit in and make them feel welcome. The perks, such as cable, internet and laundry are not working most of the time and it takes a great effort to get the staff to fix the issues, if at all. The food is cold, dried out and not very good in general. I was very disappointed every time I have dined with my mother. They have even ruined a ham and cheese sandwich. It was cold and soggy, it had no flavor at all. I have had burned cake and over done chicken. They have been promising that repairs and replacement of soiled and broken equipment is in the future but no time line due to lack of funding from parent company. I have wished we had picked another community and never moved in.

Do Your Research

If a review was posted prior to 2015 it stands true. The Waterford WAS a wonderful and well respected facility. However when the executive director changed hands this place went to hell. Everything “Horrible Place” posted is true from the D.O.N. to the horrible food to the unfriendly staff - night shift receptionist must have found the only job she can hold that does not require her to interact with the public. Please, if you are reading this because you are considering having your loved one live there DON’T BE FOOLED! The Executive Director puts on quite a facade when you come in to tour, going as far as making her staff jump through hoops to impress you. Once she has spun her web everything returns back to the pathetic standards, underpaid-overworked and micromanaged staff, poor nutrition, lack of social activities and many cost cuts. How sad that they can’t even afford ketchup! A watered down cup of tomato juice will be brought out upon request for your hamburger. Be sure to be on your toes with the D.O.N. Keep good records on your end because they will go to great lengths to raise the level of care even if it is not medically needed. Should you choose this facility, keep a very close eye on your loved one. I hate to say it but they will deteriorate at the Waterford.

Appalling Environment

No star at all !!! My mom spent 3 1/2 months there which was way too long . [Name removed] and [name removed] reassured me that the memory care unit was the right place for my mother . My mother suffers from CHF . Medications need to be given appropriately, a low sodium diet was required, and walking daily . Three simple requests that We’re not granted !! I found medication left in her med box . Arrived at least five times to find my mom slumped over in a chair for 2 1/2 hours plus . My mother was hospitalized twice during the 3 1/2 months. Due to their lack of administering meds correctly , providing a low sodium diet & watching her weight to control her Edema . I had to complain about my mothers bathroom smelling the memory care unit smelled nasty in general . Apparently that unit does not deserve the care that the rest of the facility is provided . The business office doesn’t know what the heck they’re doing either . Claiming I owe $7000 when that is incorrect and I have no bills that indicate that amount owed . The whole facility needs to be audited !!! I would not advise anyone to be put in assisted-living or memory care . I encountered only about three staff during the 3 1/2 months that were kind . In general rude staff !!!

BEWARE! Don't even consider this place!

Look Elsewhere

****Do not put your loved ones here. Inattentive staff on their cell phones rather than watching residents - would be simple to have a no cell phone policy, right ? If you do place someone here - do not believe promises made to you when you sign your paperwork - paid an initiation fee and my father was told he was not allowed back and was not refunded the initiation fee even though we were told we would be refunded it if he was not a good fit - corporate office is in Texas - onsite management takes zero accountability

Mom was neglected here

My mom was neglected here, and nobody wanted to accept responsibility. Instead, I was either ignored or received excuses or accusations. When I brought my mom here a year ago, things were run differently. [Name removed] sent me weekly photos of my mom doing activities. After [name removed] left, things changed. This place has had several different directors and head nurses in the past year, so that I'm not familiar with their names. A few weeks ago, my mom started wearing sandals without socks for the first time. That's when I noticed the condition of her feet. Her baby toenails were so long, they looked like bamboo shoots and some of her other nails were curling around her toes. Her feet smelled terrible. I went to the front desk and alerted the girl and asked to speak to the head nurse. She said the head nurse was busy, but would call me soon. No call. I called the next day expressing my disappointment that the head nurse hadn't called and that my mom's feet needed attention. The girl up front promised I'd receive a call back within a half hour. No call. I went back to the home the following week, and my mom's feet were in the same condition. They smelled awful. Nobody had clipped her nails. I was furious at this point. I called up to the front and asked for the head nurse. They said she was gone. I asked for [name removed], one of the directors. She was with potential clients, so I sat there waiting. I finally went to the front and found [name removed] and let her know how furious I was. This was when the excuses began. Apparently, it's my job to clip my mom's toenails. I was unaware of this. Even so, why didn't someone alert me to the condition of her feet? They were supposedly bathing her three times a week. Hadn't anyone noticed? I was told that my mom sometimes refuses her baths. Whoa! So how often were they bathing her? I never got a straight answer on that, but every pair of her shoes smelled terrible. I was also told that they couldn't call a podiatrist to check on my mom's feet because they didn't have her insurance card. Ridiculous. Of course, they did. I had to give it to them to check her in, but even if they'd lost it, they could have called me. Then I had to deal with the director of the place, a little strawberry-blonde lady who gave me all the same excuses. In addition, she wanted me to know it wasn't her fault, since she's only been the director for two months (I later learned from other nurses she'd been there five months). She then went on to accuse me of not visiting enough. I told her I visited every week. She asked why she never saw me if I visited every week. I said she could check the books if she didn't believe me. She answered she would be checking the books. Wow! By this point, I knew my mom had to leave this place. Nobody wanted to accept responsibility for my mom's neglect, or at the very least, give me assurances that this would never happen again. They wanted to keep making up excuses and deflect blame. I even contacted their national headquarters through Facebook. Their page said response time is typically within 24 hours. This was over a week ago, and they saw my message, but never replied. A few days before we moved her out, my husband and I went to check on her. She was sleeping in the dining room in an uncomfortable chair with her chin resting on her chest. There were no other patients there, but three nurses were talking at the other end of the dining hall. Couldn't someone have woken her up and helped her to her bed instead of leaving her there like that? What if she would have fallen out of the chair? They were not close enough to catch her. BTW, the director didn't apologize to me, but she did tell me I owe $$ for next month, even though my mom isn't there anymore. There was no way I was leaving my mom there to be neglected by their staff an extra month. Also, when I spoke to [name removed] from A Place for Mom, Heritage never told them that I moved my mom in there last year, but I did move her in after [name removed] had found this place for us.

Waterford Creekside Not Paying Bill

They are not paying there bills, and the Director and Accountant will not returns calls after 6 weeks of non payment. I'm wondering if they are having a cash flow problem. Hoping it's not affecting the quality of patient care?!

Black mold in the dining room

As a resident here the black mold in the dining room wall is a major concern for me. The ED failed to have these walls replaced because she didnt want to spend the money (as an incentive from corporate she gets a bonus each month for staying under budget) A major health concern especially for a place that calls itself a healthcare facility!!! Do not move your loved one here!!

This is not the place for humanity

Horrible new inhumane director. Don't expect good care for a loved one under this new leadership. She has destroyed what once was a wonderful place. Take my advice look elsewhere, this is not a place for someone you love anymore.

Run far away from this place

This place started out wonderful many years ago. Now it is a nightmare under the current director. It is impossible to communicate with her and she has no caring for the human side of the elderly. I don't say this lightly so please don't even think for a moment putting a loved one here. In its day many years ago it was perfection, it is now a shadow of what it once was. Keep looking and don't make the mistake of thinking this place will have any humanity under its current director.

Not a place I would recommend

My father lived at The Harrison for almost two years. It was a fiasco the entire time. Due to excessive high turn over and very poor communications between staff, one is consistently informing caregivers what type of care they are suppose to be providing. Mass confusion, and lack of concern runs rampant. Having a memory care division, without 24/7 RN is unbelievable! My father started out in their assisted living division, after a stay in the hospital and rehab, he needed more care. At the advise of the director he was put into the memory care division, with the explanation he would receive better care as the ratio of residents to staff was better. It was just more of the same. Incompetence! Hospice was soon brought in. Witnessing dad’s rapid decline within a week, hospice advised he be moved to a skilled nursing facility. I took their advise much to the disagreement of the D.O.N and Director claiming they could take care of him during his end times. During my father’s passing he needed morphine administered every two hours throughout a 48 hour time span. This is something The Harrison could not have administered . A QMA nor a CNA can administer morphine and since they do not see a need to have a registered nurse on staff 24/7, Dad would have suffered greatly. Dad was gone from The Harrison five days before his passing. After living there for almost two years there was no notice posted (as with all other residence who had passed before him) of his passing. Going to The Harrison the day after his death to finish cleaning out his room, I was not spoken to by the Director or the D.O.N which I came into direct contact with. Others within the building had to find out about dads passing by word of mouth. This is the caring environment of The Harrison.
