I would say the biggest way they could improve would be leadership organization and communication. They had a lot of services they claimed they provided during tour that were not offered after move in. Transportation, lack of activities and food quality was a regular issue. Individual caregivers were kind but my grandmother felt that management staff was regularly rude and dismissive to her. She experienced missed meals, missed showers and surprise undiscussed charges on her bill for care she never received. Most of the issues could have been resolved with a conversation, plan and accountability but this was something we never received at Waterford.

It was a terrible place. It stunk. They didn't take care of my father in law. The staff sat around playing on there phones. We had to move him out of there. I would not put a dog in there.

I’ve had the opportunity to interact with The Waterford at Round Rock and wanted to share some honest impressions. While the community itself has potential and a pleasant environment, I have some concerns regarding the staff and overall operations. The staff, overall, seems to lack adequate training. There are moments where basic communication or care procedures don’t seem to meet the standard one would expect in a senior living facility. This creates frustration and uncertainty, especially for families entrusting the care of their loved ones to the community. The Executive Director is fairly new, but she comes across as knowledgeable and committed. She seems to be working hard to improve the community and support her team. With time, her leadership may help stabilize the staff and improve operations overall. However, the nursing situation is concerning. The current nurse is also new to the facility and, based on interactions, seems to be inexperienced. Her attitude is not pleasant

New caregivers lack sufficient training

Not enough staff available. Do not take care of the people. Not worth the price that we pay. The director is not managing the facility well at all.

The old management that was in place when we got her in there was amazing...the new management that came in a month or two later is horrible.Under the current management: they have one housekeeper managing well over half the building. They are friendly, but not helpful or forthcoming. Food made her physically ill multiple times per week. She was safe, but hated being there. My scores under the old management would have been 5's across the board, but they fired everyone who made the place great.

Great place for Assisted Living. Once we moved our loved one to Memory Care there we didn't have a great experience. They are equipped to handle "pleasantly confused" residents but dementia doesn't always take the same path. Our family member had some trouble and we didn't get the support we expected from the Ashton. We ended up moving them to a primary Memory Care facility and it's been such a better experience.

I have a close family member that lives here. They have their meals brought to their room because they are unable to go down to the cafeteria. From day one of living here over the last 5 years this place has routinely failed to bring them their meals. My relative has been very patient and understanding on this matter. This has happened dozens of times. The most recent time she went down to ask for food and an employee started yelling at her. I’m am furious with this “home”. She pays for this service and has been nothing but kind. My relative now feels like they have done something wrong and are in trouble, they are confused, and upset. No one deserves to be treated like this much less our elderly. I’m disgusted and could not recommend this assisted living facility to anyone who loves their family members.

Placing a loved one somewhere is never an easy decision. My first choice didn’t go so well, so I waited a while before trying again. [community removed] had recommended that my husband not come on. Therefore I needed to place him somewhere. Willow Grove was second on my list from the first time searching. I thought that the fact it was an established community was a plus. However, this past experience has left me feeling it was all about the money. I was very upfront about my husband’s physical combativeness. The nurse seemed hesitant prior to assessment, so I was surprised and relieved when he was accepted. His clothes spent more time there than he did. After two days, he was sent to Geri Psych. If I had not inquired if they would take him back, they would have gotten another months rent out of us. Then it took almost a month for me to be refunded. I still feel I should have been refunded for the community fee.

The care provided to my mom was not good! We consistently had to clean up her room. They did not regularly help her with incontinence issues and left dirty incontinence items in the room that we had to clean. She was never taken outside the memory care unit. They seemed to not pay much attention to any of the residents. Not sure if they just were not equipped to provide appropriate care or what. After we voiced concerns, the care seemed to go downhill. The eventually put her on hospice care, but that did not seem to help much either. After telling us that they would not ask her to leave, they sent us a notice giving 30 days to move her. We moved her to a facility in West Des Moines, IA and the level of care was night and day!! I would never recommend anyone sending their loved one to Crown Pointe.

Overall experience (Higher level staff mishandled my loved one's Alzheimer's care in assisted living. They misinterpreted her actions, and only thought in absolute terms which led them to jump to detrimental conclusions. Their responses were very inappropriate for someone with dementia and caused my loved one much added anxiety.) Cleanliness of the facilities -(The unit and common areas were all clean) Quality of care - (Incompetent in caring for residents with dementia.) Administrative staff (Very unprofessional, volatile, poor communicators, unethical and very profit driven) Activities (A more regular exercise class should be offered to promote routine well being. More supervision should be available for first time participants in activities.) Value for the money (Added costs after moving in were uncontrollable.)

Improper medication administration to the point my loved one’s safety was in jeopardy. All this company seems to care about is money. Beware looks and management is deceptive. Response time poor. My sister had to go to ER 3 times in 3 months. Found out medication wasn’t being administered correctly. Administrator apologized for improper care but nothing improved, only got worse. All she cared about was getting paid for 30 days after vacating facility due to my concerns for my sister’s safety. Operated facility without a licensed nurse for over a month.

We had a very poor experience unfriendly uncaring staff. Unclean. We moved our mother out within 30 days of arriving. She is currently at another very good facility.

There were others there who were quite happy at The Waterford. It just didn't work for us and I wouldn't recommend it if someone asked me.

DO NOT put your loved one on the memory care floor here. The first floor is pretty, inviting, engaging, smells and looks really good. The second floor, the forgotten floor, the one where the worst changes happened throughout our stay (because nobody sees it) was sad, hard to watch and disgusting. In 2022 this place was better than it is now. Changed hands multiple times in 2.5 years. It went downhill…way down. By the time we removed our loved one from here the second floor memory care always smelled, was unsanitary, dirty walls, activities posted didn’t happen, inappropriate shows on the tv, no guidance, no real help, put in front of the tv sedated. I sat in the tv room with 23 dementia residents for 30 minutes and NEVER saw one caregiver or med tech during that time. When I would see a med tech she was often leaning on her cart on her cell phone. These residents were left on their own. [name removed] can tell you that they weren’t…but they are. Private run is much better we found that out. Need to have private own not a corporation. I wasn't happy very poor run only money is what they want.

Our Parents were there for awhile, but when we were finding their medication on the floor quite a few times and when they would press that button to notify someone to help - it took awhile for anyone to show up. Things there went down hill fast and thank God we moved them out of there!!!

This place could care less about your parents. Mom lived there for 2 days and a girl came and gave her her meds and night. Never helped her to bed and mom fell and had a lump the size of a baseball on her head. We moved her out asap. If you love your parents please keep them away from this place

Pretends to put their residents first, but so much behind the scenes. Horrible food, inexperienced staff, dangerous environment, put money before the care of the residents, unhappy staff, business office run horribly.

Not able to define what residents need. Not trained to detect what people with dementia need or require. Asked to move my husband out after 7 days because of dementia. Do lots of research befor considering. Not just their sales pitch.
