One area where they can really improve is the food. It is really hit or miss. Sometimes it can be really good, but other times it's not that great. It is often overcooked or under-cooked and is way to salty. Some of the residents have talked about it openly and have spoken to the kitchen staff about it. There are also flies in the kitchen. They have tried to take care of them, but need to do some more. Lisa, the manager when I first came in, is very warm and open. She always introduces herself to people and is very kind and caring. The new manager does not do that quite as much. Scott, the director, used to be very good at getting things done quickly, but lately things have taken longer. Some remodeling needed in some of the bathrooms for example. The activities they have are very good. There is room for improvement, but they are certainly trying and I appreciate that.

My mom has lived here for over a year. The food at first was good. I'd go sometimes and eat lunch or dinner with her, but I can't stomach it anymore. A few months ago they went through a huge turnover in the kitchen and waitstaff and it's really gone downhill. The food is often overcooked or under cooked, cold, orders gotten wrong, and service is slow. It has really affected my mom's morale. She often begs me to come get her so she can go to a restaurant and eat because she just is so unhappy with the food. She otherwise loves this place. They just remodeled and it looks great, she's made a lot of friends, and likes all of the activities. She just can't stop talking about how horrible the food is, and she's normally not one to complain and isn't a picky eater. If the food were good she'd give this place 5 stars!

Wonderful administrative staff. Some of the caretakers are a little slack, but nowhere is perfect. Overall, it's a good place. Great value. Great administrators. Good nursing staff.

The head nurse and staff are compassionate. The memory unit girls are really great. They are wonderful. My loved one does not participate in the activities.

The Waterford is a decent facility but has very poor management. We have a family member there and he has adjusted fairly well, however, the Administrator, [removed] is rude to the residents and at times very unprofessional. She treats the Waterford staff like they are non-human. The Waterford would be a great place if Capital Senior Living would get rid of her.

They take care of grooming and the staff is always friendly and on top of things. My mother in law complains that she has to wait a long time to get picked up for activities, meals says short staffed not sure if its just mother in law or not.

They are doing okay, but nothing to rave about. The cleanliness of the place and the attitudes of the workers are good. There are a lot of people that need a lot of care in the assisted living, and that takes up a lot of the workers time. I don't get complaints about the food, so they must salt it pretty well.

I know it's not an assisted living or nursing home, but my grandmother was found face down on the pavement and was out there like that all night. That was after being there for two weeks, and since then she has been in the hospital. They are very friendly and very sweet people. I would give them the highest rating possible if it weren't for the aforementioned experience as everything else has been great.

They could improve on the way they treat their residents. They do not seem really here to help us. It's a pretty nice facility but the care to the residents and overall value is not what it should be.

The Jefferson was the first choice for an assisted living community for my parents. The staff has had turnover during the time we moved in, which can be a bit unsettling. My parents have a bit of an issue with the food, not as good as they had hoped. My mother was a phenomenal cook so she does have some high standards. The wait staff at meal times seem short staffed, but the wait staff are always in good moods and pleasant which can make a better day for my folks. The community surroundings (outdoor gardens and lawn) are beautiful! They decorate for the holidays. Love that. I do think that the lobby furnishings, pictures, and floral arrangements could and should be updated. First impressions are important.

nice location and the facility tour was nice, but i have yet to be called by anyone following up after the tour to get my mother set up for respite care.

We weren't thrilled with our visit. We couldn't get in the door, we were kept waiting for 20 min past our scheduled visit time, and the director was a little patronizing.

Again in $6k monthly range. Private pay only and will not accept Medicare/ Medicaid patients

Waterford at Plano: My brother has only been at The Waterford for about a month. The staff here is friendly and accommodating to my brother's needs. They keep the facility clean. The food in my opinion is just ok, not fantastic, not horrible. Overall I'm satisfied with the care they have provided for my brother.

Some may want 3 meals a day but we don't want to pay to eat out always. The travel feature is unique and attractive but the rates ( see above ) are quite high

We've had mixed experiences with this community, and there are a few issues that I think they really need to work on. To start, the facility feels very understaffed, I believe I heard the figure of around 15 residents per aide, which just isn't enough. The aides also don't do a great job responding to the call button necklaces. They work the system. They'll respond within the required 15 minutes to turn off the call button alarm, but then say they will "be right back" to solve the actual problem, and it can be more than half an hour before they actually come back. They also need more activities, most of the time it seems my loved one is just sitting in the living room watching TV all day. The last issue is with the food. Most of the time the entrees are so overcooked that Mom has trouble cutting it, let alone chewing it. The "salads" they serve are generally just iceburg lettuce with maybe a wedge of tomato, not nutritious at all.

Not considered because they allow smoking in public places inside the facility, do not have units with patio or balcony.
