The Wellington at North Bend Crossing was very similar to another place we toured. It felt more like they were doing business than anything else - as opposed to considering care for our loved one. The facility was glamorous and had all the bells and whistles, and there's nothing wrong with that if that's what you're looking for. But their businesslike demeanor was a turnoff for us.

It was oversold to us and the promises weren't followed through. There have been unexpected things with care that have come up that we weren't told about. The hotspot is only available for the residents near the reception area, and don't extend back to the rooms. The meals are improving. There are three meals served a day to the residents. There are choices for breakfast only. The lunches and dinner meals only have one option available. There are not too many activities for the residents to participate in.

This is probably a good place, but they were not able to handle my situation.

This is not a community I would recommend to others. Their mission statement has not come to fruition in any way sold. They are understaffed and have too many residents for the staff they have to take care of. My loved one is not receiving the care that I was promised. The community isn't assisting with bathing or dressing assistance. My loved one was in someone else's clothes when we went to visit and there was a smell due to my loved one not receiving a bath or at least assistance with this activity. My loved one was able to go on a group activity outside of the community since moving in a few months ago for the first time. I'm not sure that the community is truly engaging my loved one in the activities they offer inside the community either.

I haven't been here long enough to reach a decision or compare to other places. Food choices could be improved - some amounts are too much and some are not quite well made or tasty. Workers are very nice and friendly.

They've done everything we've asked, not always necessarily as timely as we would like, but they get things done. The apartments are nice and are a fairly decent size for a single person. And my family member enjoys the social aspect of living there.

They need to improve in their menu. They have an alternate menu for the residents and it is things that you would serve a kid. The main meals are too salty a lot of the times. Whenever they cook things in gravy they drown it. If you have a loved one who is diabetic, just know that not a lot options are available. We are paying addition $500 a month for showers 3 times a week and escorts to and from meals and the escorting back to her room has been an issue as well. They have a new director and I have been working with her and they are working on improving things.

I toured this facility and it was not as nice as some of the others. The director was pleasant, but the facility did not meet our expectations.

Our tour at The Waterford at Baytown was good, and I thought the little cottages they offered were pretty cool. But their pricing was out of range for us.

We toured with The Wellington at Conroe and it was nice as well and the staff were friendly. The apartments were pretty nice but it is bi-level so she would have had to take an elevator. We did not get to try the food during the tour. They had outside areas but they were not as pretty as another place that we were looking. The Wellington just did not have the appeal that we were looking for.

The management has terminated recently and is replaced in most instances. The finance person left abruptly. There is no activity person. The food is not good. We get probably one good meal a week. Cleaning services are minimal and all the carpeting filthy and should have been replaced years ago. No one has answers to our questions. Some of the staff are very nice and competent.

Takes long time to get maintenance done. Over three weeks to get light bulbs changed. Food portions at times small or run out prior to second seating.

I'm not too happy with them right now. The director definitely needs to be changed. They don't notify you when your loved one gets sent to the hospital.

I think they should be more prepared for residents in assisted living. The staffing that came in had minimum to little experience with assisted living patients. They were going to put him in memory care, but didn't end up being the case. Overall was not a great experience, had high hopes but didn't end up working for our loved ones at Summit Point.

They could work to improve on the quality of the meals and providing more well-balanced and nutritious meals. The dining service could also be improved with their friendliness

There is high staff turnover, poor leadership and inconsistent care.

I see the unfriendly aspect of the place.

The Oaks at Plainfield was alright. They didn’t have 24-hour staffing, and they didn't have call buttons like another independent living community we looked at did. It was a nice facility, but it just didn’t give us a secure feeling for our elderly parent.

They are having staffing problems just as everyone else is. They tell you things that you do not actually get such as weekly housekeeping. The food is not very good and there is not much of a selection at all. They are not able to follow through with the things that were promised up front.

Good: Simple floor plan of the building for residents, one level. Staff is kind and very helpful, great activities for residents. Bad: Management, Executive Director is seldom seen! She's either in her office or out of the building. She doesn't act like she cares about residents. Staff quits often, so few med techs are available for residents.
