It is very expensive at the Waterford at Mesquite, the food not good at times, food inappropriate for seniors, I chose it because it was the nicest one in Mesquite.

It was filthy all the time- The dining room furniture was always sticky. The recliners in the living room were bloody and food stained. Often there would be a puddle of pee on the dining room floor. there were some great staff members. [name removed] was great. A handful of care givers were wonderful but that's a small percentage. But it was a revolving door of staff members. They clearly don't pay them enough for the hard work that they do...if they do it. [name removed]can't do everything for all the patients. And as I said, there were a handful of dedicated care givers who did their best but there was not enough of them to go around. They worked their heads off while the other staff members sat around. Most of the patients ate fairly well. The menu varied and sometimes it looked appetizing to me and other times not. they had a lovely cheerful young woman doing activities. She had no real training in this. She really tried to engage them which is challenging in itself. But it was lacking to be sure. And absolutely not her fault she did the best with the stuff they provided. They raised their prices before even 6 months of residence. I was told they were renovating. All I ever saw was new art on the walls using patient photos which were awesome. But that was about it.

All the nurses and aids do a great job! The food is awful most of the time. Some of the hallways have a terrible odor. They do not have enough van drivers for doctor appointments. Not sure if she is asked about going to different activities.

There is lots of improvement needed. I stay for the convenience and my sister is happy. There needs to be more hiring of qualified help. There are changes being made with hopes of improvement needed for the residents.

Probably better than most but enhanced care packages promise more than delivered. Advantage is that you can stay in the same unit as you need more care but don't rely on the staff to provide that care. Also units are quite nice but not designed for elderly

[name removed] took a bad fall there. And shattered his 4th vertebrae in his back. And he was in great pain. They never called us . Also we found him in great pain and had been hollering for help for days. They never responded. The lady across the hall told me that he was calling for help for a long time and she told the nurses and they never checked on him . Fall was Friday and we my daughter and I went there on Sunday and he was. Wet and in a lot of pain. The nurse lied about calling us. And we called State and they inspected Waterford and they fined on both things . So I would suggest that you not refer them to anyone. It was quite expensive on us. I tell you this because I do not want others to suffer like our loved one did.

Not exactly they have had two turnovers nurses have the widest attitudes I have ever encountered in my 76 yrs of age. Had to really have a fit to find out why they were not asking me for refills on medication. My sister is 100 percent disabled so the veterans take care of her meds drs this place looked great my sister said they have good food but she's not aware behind the scenes. It's an assisted living facility not nursing home it's memory care and when I addressed the meds nurse said every prescription was prn they are memory care how can they say prn. Everything is either a liability and nonono having issues with guard rails on hospital bed not allowed so now looking at haleo grab bars. Believe me it's a challenge trying to keep my sister taken care of. I'm very disappointed I was told care takers are not trained just hired and probably worked at gas station last week. Everyone has a bad bad attitude unbelievable to our seniors who deserve better

I would say it was average. There was a lot of turnover with the staff which made to hard to get consistent care.

Meals are terrible according to my loved ones. They can barely get some of it down. They are fairly mobile so they can drive to it nearby restaurant and so they eat out probably once a day just because they can't stand anywhere.

If your love one is cognitive this place is not the place for them. Nurses set at the desk in the memory care unit while patients wander up and down the hall trying to get into rooms that are not theirs. The facility smells like urine assisted living and memory care. My mother loved the food when she first got now she says the food is disgusting. The director of Crowne Pointe is telling us that they are getting Medicaid certified and that was over a year ago Things have been stolen from my mom's room. It was replaced. They have a 19 year old nurse that comes and gets my mom fired up and calls me to try and settle her down. We will be removing my mom from Crowne Pointe very soon.

Once they get you in....they up the price after about 6 months. Lots of issues with maintenance and getting things repaired. Staff changes a lot and no one seems to really care one way or another. The activities are on point and food seems to be good but overall it's disappointing. We picked the place because of affordability but after 6 months rent went up almost [fee removed] and now it's money coming out of my pocket that I don't have so it's been rough.

Our loved ones said meals have gone down hill since they first moved in [date removed]. It is hard to communicate with nursing staff when needed....you must text the director to get a response. Activities are limited and Mom is able to get around well but the facility doesn't even have a bus to take them for rides or anything - she is stuck in the facility.

They need to know that the rent is going to be all of their loved ones money minus $100. We ended up owing the Wellington a lot of money because it was not [cost removed] a month it was everything minus 100 of her monthly pay. When we first signed up for my mother-in-law to go to the Wellington they told me that the rent was $12.50 a month and then a new lady named [name removed] to go over and she said no it's not [cost removed] it's everything minus $100 of her social security check. That was not at all what we were told.

Staff turnover has been very high. They were just purchased by another company effective 7/1, and things seem to be trending upward now. But the last year was very hard for staff & they lost many great people. We love the location. It's very close to our house, so we get to see Mom frequently. Set in a park-like area away from noisy traffic. And she's in a nice apartment that opens up into a pretty courtyard, and she enjoys having a "backyard." The food has been a constant source of complaints. Again, new menus with the new company, but she generally complains about lack of variety in vegetables & not enough fresh fruits & veggies...everything "canned & unhealthy." Nice community with room for improvement is fine. New company is changing a lot right now, so I think it's all going to be good soon

For as expensive lack of workers, not always a nurse on duty, did not do activities if no visitor's present, and an aide came to work wearing a t-shirt under her smock that she took off, that said [profanity removed] in BOLD LETTERS! I think that was unexceptable!

Too many residents per worker, especially for the care needed in this particular setting. We were told there would always be at least 2 and sometimes 3 workers. We rarely have had even 2. Also we were told residents would be checked on every 1-2 hrs. This has not happened. Just several things that were presented and have not been played out as such. Not All the workers fault, but certainly more can be done. Several workers are very kind and are genuine in what they do. We have been a disappointed to say the least. Turn over in some staff right after we began this journey here. The new administrator seems very nice and striving for betterment, I do believe. As with most of these care facilities...not enough workers. Especially ones that really care. Sad at where we are in patient care these days.

The staff is very nice, the food is decent, and the facility is kept very clean. Unfortunately, their billing practices are deceptive. My father was evaluated to be a Level 1 care by the Waterford nurse a few days prior to moving in. We were billed correctly the first two months. Without informing my father or his family, Waterford moved my father to Level 2 (an additional $[removed]/month). To make matters worse, they BACKDATED this change in care 60 days to the first day he moved in! This was contrary to what the nurse had determined and without notice to the family. Had we known dad would be incurring an additional $[removed]/month, we never would have selected Waterford. This is the old “bait and switch” business tactic. When I complained in late May - early June 2024, I was told to wait on an answer. I did wait. Finally, in mid-June I was told that dad would resume billing at Level 1 ($[removed]/month). This was a lie, as our July statement continues to show Level 2. Disgraceful.

The staff is so very friendly and helpful. The move in was an easy process. My parents have been there a year and unfortunately the food and response time for aides has declined.

Showers are supposed to be once a week. The resident can go 3-4 weeks before she gets hers. There is always some excuse. Sometimes I have to do it myself. There is a doctors order to apply compression socks every morning and this is often not done which leads to swelling in her legs and feet. Because of the lack of hygiene, she develops fungal infections in the groin which go untreated because no one discovers it until she tells me about it Over the last year, I have talked to the care supervisor and facility manager many times, providing written documentation of the lack of timely hygiene and there is not consistent improvement. The place is generally clean. The resident states some of the staff are so nice and others are not.

Let's just say you get 3 strikes and your out, an ambulance was called and she was taken to the 6th floor at Baxter, we were not notified by the staff and an hour and a half later nurse from hospital calls and ask if I'm coming to see my sister, that she's at the hospital!! Southern dropped the ball and no one notified us the family!! Then they were not friendly as we were told to move her things out immediately and she was no longer welcome there! They knew of her diagnosis of Alezheimer's/dementia.
