If your loved one is more independent and needs little assisted living, this is a great place. If you loved one needs more care the community are not equipped to handle these requests. The staff communication with the family has been okay. [name removed] was fantastic to work with! [name removed] the Executive Director did not returned one phone call to the family during the stay. There was no communication from any staff member to check on my loved one after being admitted to the hospital because of a fall while in the community.

So far so good!

Our loved one is truly doing well there. It is a bit challenging because she is blind but very few other residents are, but she is finding her way around, attending exercise classes and meeting some friendly people. The outside vendor of choice for nursing is good. When it comes to the meals there is not enough fresh vegetables, some food is difficult for senior, dining hall is short-staffed. For the activities the time slots are double booked or conflict with meals, some activities on the calendar do not take place.

The staff is very nice. The food has been better. We picked this community because, everyone was friendly, and it was a close location to my home. They have nice apartments. Overall, my loved one is very happy. It's a pretty welcoming community.

The Amberleigh community could use some updating

I am quite satisfied with Independence Village of East Landing!

I just moved here 1 & 1/2 months ago. I have no opinion as of this time, except the people are friendly.

I have lived at Independence Village of East Lansing since [date removed] of this year. It is a very comfortable place to live. I am getting readjusted to Michigan living, after 20 years in Ft. Meyers, Florida.

Great place to live

We toured with Anthology at the Plaza and I really liked this facility. The staff were all extremely responsive and willing to help out wherever we needed them to. The reason we did not choose this facility was because there was no accessible green space which was really important to us. Also - his room would have looking out to a garage and that was less than desirable. The atmosphere did feel a little more cold and sterile. At some times I wish we would have chosen this facility due to the location and the amount of health issues my loved one has had, it is close to hospitals.

Comfortable food is fines office is good people are friendly very peaceful. Very clean and helpful.

The staff have been good to work with if we have questions or concerns. The food currently has lot of fried food for specials, and it would be nice to see more items available on special that aren't fried. There are three meals a day served to the residents.

The Waterford at Fitchburg was a newer facility, and less affordable for us. But the apartments were great. They were big and beautiful - the building used to be condo units that have since been converted to senior living. What’s not to like about a huge 2-bedroom apartment with two bathrooms? I wouldn’t have minded living there myself.

The staff at The Jefferson are really good. They're always available, ready to talk / listen to comments, and make changes. They've been pretty responsive. They lost their activities director, which has been a bummer. So at the moment they have pretty basic activities like bingo, exercises, a weekly field trip, shopping trips, etc. The food is good, and there's a lot of variety. They offer at least three options at every meal, which is unheard of in the industry in our area. It's one of the cheaper places in town, and my loved one is very satisfied. She can have her own apartment and do her own thing, yet she still has people around. The other residents are friendly and welcoming, and she's made some fast friends there, which has been important for her after being isolated in a standard apartment before moving to The Jefferson.

Everything has been nice and clean. The food is absolutley terrible and uacceptable. My loved one has done activities, and is getting better with interacting. There is not always things, that the residents want to do but they have a good amount of activities. They provide good care, and my love done has a nice size room.

Very impressed with the staffs compassion for us and how they desire for us to feel respected and valued. Three years ago I moved away and just recently moved back because I left a piece of my heart here. I feel whole again.

The front office staff is great. The Executive Director and Sales Director have been nice and great to work with both of them. This has been a good place for my loved one. I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. There has been a transition for the activities coordinator position, and these activities are picking back up for the residents. The variety of meals could improve for the residents outlook on meals for options. My loved one has complained that the meals are not arriving hot, and this is something that could be improved upon as well.

My mother is happy here and really appreciates how they provide for her. They do their best to help her have a comfortable life. I feel like she's in good hands and feel good about the decision to have her here. Housekeeping is basic, but could use some improvement. I do most of it myself. They don't want her to get up on her own and ask that she use the help/call button. Our issue with that is that the response time is delayed and she often has to wait awhile for someone to come help (mostly with restroom needs). The food is good overall. Mom is very picky, so her being happy with it says a lot. I would absolutely recommend them to family and friends!
