Sodalis Elder Living

the employees are great. most areas are very neat and clean. they're wonderful with my sister. they're not good at getting answers to me. I spoke to someone (head of nursing) who said a week ago (last Monday) she'd call me on Tuesday with an answer. Still waiting. food is mediocre at best. my sister doesn't join much, but I love that they do a lot of "parties " like the Chinese New Year, wine & cheese, Mardi Gras. They invite guests, it's very nice for my sister. She enjoys that. I think they're provide quite a bit for the money.

My mother has lived at Sodalis Largo for about a month and all is well. The only issue mom has is the dining hall seems to be having a few issues with changes in staff and food being very bland . They have gone through many admin changes since first of the year so I totally understand. It is a very safe and clean environment and my Mom is happy so it’s a lot less worrying for me. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Will be attending family night tomorrow and my mom is really looking forward to it.

Before I committed to placing my sister there, I wanted her to see it for herself. I was confident she could be happy there, but I knew she was reluctant to be placed anywhere. She valued her independence and I felt she would do better if she felt she had a voice in the decision. We visited and she loved it right away. We had lunch and she was very happy. She moved in less than two weeks later.

My experience overall is good at Sodalis. I have made some good friends here. It's a good place to live. I feel safe and secure here. I would recommend this facility to someone looking for somewhere to live.

My Mom died 2 1/2 years ago so my feedback is dated. Overall the facility was quite good. I remember the leadership was not very friendly but everybody else was great.

Facility was very nice and clean. The people were nice and respectable. Very nice services.

My mom has been in sodalis for 3 years. She loves the facility. The staff try hard to help residents in any matter needed. All facilities are not perfect and neither is sodalis, but they try their very best to solve any problems in a reasonable time. The activities are superb. Mom very rarely gets bored. Always something going on. The food has its ups and Downs, but over all the new food supervisor "[name removed]" is willing to listen to any complaints and does everything she can to improve it. [name removed] the nurse is a good getter. There is nothing she won't do. Your family is first for her. [name removed] the director is awesome. She is always ready to help or talk to any family about anything they need. Overall sodalis is a wonderful place for my mom. Thank you to all the staff that go above and beyond to help my mom and me.

The CNAs and med staff were awesome. Management had a lot of turnovers. We were there 3 weeks and management was fired or quit twice. Seems corporate cares more about the $ than the staff and residents. We were in the memory care unit. They were super good to Mom and us in this unit. However overworked and understaffed. Alz patients require a lot of care and attention. My Mom passed within the first month. They were awesome at the end of her life. No condolences from management, only you owe us for 30 more days even after death. Also there was dripping ac vents and mold in the main bldg. No snacks or fruit provided in between meals.

I would first like to start they made many aesthetically pleasing changes to the place when we first moved in. The staff was great in the beginning; however, there were a lot of turnover with staff that occurred a few months afl not tolerate mediocre for my mom. I ended up leaving because it was too far from mter my mom was there that had the place in turmoil. If you were not visiting often, I'm not sure how the care would have been. I was there constantly ensuring everyone does there job. After a few months trying to find the right staff, they turned everything around and we back to normal again. The staff was great and they saw that I was a constant presence who wily house and I wasn't able to get over there as often as I desired. But anyone who lives in that area I would highly recommend this place. It has a high turnover but I'm unsure of how it is now. These type places always have a high rate of turnover. My mom's room was just the right size for her and the food was decent.

When I had both parents at the location it was of value-5. After my parent passed away the cost of value went to a 0.5 because it was higher for one person than two and did not make sense. Our family experience and I would not recommend because the chef makes frozen foods as meals from [name removed] and they have no interest in improving. It was difficult because they could not even supply a boiled egg. We visited the memory care unit and it was so sad and heartbreaking. We visited a neighbor who moved from one side of Sodalis to the other

Staff are very friendly and helpful. They are always keeping us up to date and in the loop with what is going on with our loved one. The rooms are nice, they do offer private and semi-private. It is overall a very nice facility.

My mom is safe and happy! I just recommended sodalis twice this week actually. The staff truly loves my mom and they take great care of her!

Overall we’re happy with Sodalis Largo. The staff are very nice, the food is good, it’s clean, and the activities are good for a small facility. I only wish the communication and follow-up on items we’ve expressed concerns about was better.

Facility is clean, staffs are friendly to residents, & Med techs are assisting residents needs of medication intake well. Sodalis Senior Living have variety of activities and planned well. They do not provide hair care.

The staff response time to resident call button isn't even close to acceptable and the response time we were told before we signed papers, in my opinion, was a straight up lie to get us to sign. I've brought this up more than once and the folks in charge basically said I was being unrealistic expecting the response time I was told at the beginning because during meal times those people are busy in the dining room. I've heard from the resident liaison/advocate that some residents have resorted to calling 911 because there circumstances were dire. My mother has since moved into the memory care part of the building and attention there is acceptable. I'm giving the meals and dining a five although the meals look very skimpy. My mother hasn't complained but she wouldn't remember to complain. For the activities, this one area I feel they do well. I think it's expensive but it's comparable to other local places. I just think for that price all the answers should be five.

The staff is very helpful and kind to residents. They make you feel at home. They have lots of activities and the whole team gets involved. They work together with phycians and nurses to make sure the residents get the best care possible.

We have only complaint. My sister has bought our mother at least 12 new outfits, her name is on everything. They seem to disappear on a regularly. Example, yesterday my sister picked mom up . She had on someone's pants, no bra, most of the time someone else's shoes. They brought mom her walker as a precaution and it had a messy depend in the bag that is attached to her walker. My sister has discussed this with staff continually. My sister visits her almost weekly. We are hoping that her clothes will reappear. I will be there in 2 weeks. I would say there needs to be improvement in their clothes making it back to the proper rooms. One of my concerns is her weight loss. She has lost about 35 lbs. we know that she wonders and takes other people clothes also. So I guess the clothing issue needs improvement. I hope this helps for improvement. With her being there, this environment has been the best place for her. We are thankful for this establishment

There was a full management overhaul and much of the staff was completely replaced right after she moved in. I don't know if that happens often, but it was concerning that there was that much change at once. So far things seem to be going well. Honestly, the food is the one thing she complains about. It's bland and not enough variety. I haven't had it first hand so I can't really make a judgement.

They have had a lot of trouble with having things repaired in a timely manner and the ac is always broken. However we would recommend this community to other families

The staff is great. My dad feels very comfortable with them. His only complaint is that he only likes the food that the head cook makes (but he has always critiqued the cooking of family members too). I would definitely recommend Sodalis Victoria - it has a very homey feeling to it.
