Zero stars. The management team meaning their sales person, their executive director, and their LVN were unprofessional and NEVER responded to any concerns made by family members. From what I understand the LVN and ED are no longer employed there. The sales person deceived the family with the price and the level of care my mother would be receiving. After she moved in, within one week, they changed the price and the level of her care. Bait and switch in our opinion. There were serious issues brought to the attention of the ED and she ignored them. We were also told many lies. Dishonest people. The facility was in need of numerous repairs. Things were broken and not repaired when asked to repair. Laundry was supposed to be done and was not. Horribly run facility and I would not put a rat there! Also, the room was dirty when we moved our mother in. We asked the staff come clean the room immediately. They did but it was still needing more cleaning. Spider webs and dirty windowsills.

The experience was frustrating due to changing pricing and inconsistent communication throughout the process. Even after signing the agreement, the terms continued to change, and unexpected issues arose with billing. In the end, my mother never moved in or received access to the residence. While I appreciate the follow-up, this experience did not meet expectations.

In reality, they are independent living with some planned activities, not assisted living.

Trust should never be manipulated or monetized but that is exactly what ocurred at Mt. Arlington' s Memory Care Unit. . Overall experience : We were blindsighted by the unprofessionalism and "bait and switch" treatment 2.Cleanliness- average 3. Friendliness- line staff seemed friendly 4. Quality of care- poor. The facility sold itself as trained and prepared for dementia patients with behavioral challenges however that was not the case on day one. An aide came into my husband's room and woke him up to change him in the bathroom . She insisted he get out of bed. He was only in the facility for hours. He was understandably disoriented and resisted, as she was a stranger to him trying to get his pants off in the bathroom. She was clearly untrained how to deal with dementia patients as to her approach. This was even supported by the Administrative Director, who was dismissed that week. He assured us, prior to the admission, that their staff was well trained and more than capable to deal with an agitated patient. 5. Administrative Staff- Oversight and accountability was poor. Trust was broken. We met with them and were very transparent regarding our concerns about staff training with such a specialized population and were assured over and over again that they could handle everything. This was not the case on day one. Trust was broken immediately. They sent my husband to the Emergency as he fell in the bathroom while struggling to return to bed. I received a call from the Director to tell me they are evaluating his return. It took one week to make that decision with no return calls from the Director of Nursing or any other Administrative Staff and leaving us in limbo. what happened to the assurance that led us to trust them with our loved one? All calls went through the front desk and "Administrative Staff" were rarely available to answer. 6. Food- seemed fair. 7. Activities- not sufficient for a memory care unit. 8. Value for money- This facility accepted thousands of dollars for their services and thousands of dollars to furnish his room with furniture and necessary materials needed. It took months to get less than half the $$$ $ we gave them for one day of service.

This place is not very well organized to serve people I have waited up to hour and half for the server to come today I came at 12..00 and the explanation I get it sit in the front if you want to get your food fast or carry out your food we don’t pay $3700 dollars for these type off excuses. I have a full kitchen but I come to this place when I don’t feel like cooking. This place needs to improve their views and services.

My mom lived here . Memory Care is nothing but a locked door no Management . I visited daily . To make sure my mom was ok . I made sure she exercised / we walked back track . And I took her to the mall to walk . The biggest money payers were Memory Care. They are the least to be taking care of . She had stolen items which I reported , and police came . Main thing was her “supposed secure meds “ .. Florence police never gave follow up ..

I would not recommend this place to anyone! The staff does not care and don't do anything! Avoid it!

I'd give zero stars, if that were an option. I was steered to Oak Hill from one of these referral places. Never should have taken their advice. Independent living here may be acceptable but assisted living most definitely is not! The apartment wasn't wheelchair accessible. The chair couldn't fit thru the doorway. Couldn't enter or exit the room unassisted. Kitchen counters too high. The bathroom sink out-of-reach. Any type of care, other than med management is lacking. Good employees are rare, and don't stay long. Lots of agency people. Never see the same ones twice. Often found groups of them gathered in the dining rooms, on their phones or sleeping. I'm glad I was no longer a resident before the widely-reported events of May 2025.

The caregivers who work the floor in memory deserve 5 stars but due to management they get 1 star. Simply put management is all about the bottom line. Everytime we had major concerns they were minimized, feelings were not acknowledged and the lack of empathy and compassion from management was very clear. We questioned communication between the shifts among MANY other things. Near the end I would call for updates on my mom during 2nd shift and I would always hear that 2nd shift wasn't aware of things that had happened. This came directly from the floor workers. Laundry was constantly mixed up. We gave up that fight. It was disheartening to almost always see my mom in clothes that did not belong to her. In the end they don't provide privacy for the dying resident when in a shared room. When people from outside organizations say they don't like coming there because of management, that says it all.

Do not place your loved one there. The facility has structural issues and management issues. Since Corp. is involved and trying to correct. Not worth trying to see if anything has changed.

If you love yo family don’t let em eat the breakfast!!! This place be run by man egos who protects drunk harassers like [name removed]. No matter how many times we complain they be protecting his nasty self. They be takin his word over us. We had enough.

Unpleasant med pass staffers. Cold,. Unappealing foods. The community seems to have a high turn over rate since I see new staff basically every time I visit. The staff do I believe rotating shifts in buildings, because I was told by one caregiver they work in another building as well. This is sad for the patients as they would benefit from the same caregivers and med pass people.

Never would recommend. I paid for medication administration for my mother with dementia. Leaving her meds on a paper plate with a note for her to " take her pills" is not acceptable

I did not like Calusa Harbor. They can improve by, not having mold in the resident rooms and make the bathrooms handicap accessible

Most understaffed and uncaring facility you could send your loved one. Now new under management. You can call and call and they won't answer the phone. Maybe after 20 tries they may answer the phone. They will change diapers but will refuse to wipe your loved one. If you are lucky ,they may change the bed sheets every 2 weeks. I am removing my mother from this disaster place. The food is like TV dinners from the 1980s. If they are mad at you for complaining about the current care level, they will send your loved one to the hospital for no reason.

Food was absolutely terrible. Very limited choices. Tasted terrible. Very small portions. We had several times when dad pushed his alarm and no one came, or came hours later. He had no shower for a week. We took him out of there in less than two weeks. Never felt like he was safe there. Let me know if you need more information.

It was terrible, un caring, un professional, short staffed, no nurses on most weekend or evenings, only caregivers, constantly ran out of meds

They have changed their names multiple times from [removed names], now The Terraces at Lakewood....just to name a few...Medical Care is subpar . DO NOT Trust the medical staff with Your loved ones. Local Police in Lakewood receive multiple complaints from staff on patients here. Do Your homework and look into better facilities. I would not put a plant at this senior facility.

They were horrible. Gave my Dad too much insulin was taken to the hospital. Another time he had shortness if breathe and it took them 9 minutes to call 911.

From move in to move out, we were with Ennis Pointe/Brookedale for 48 days. The executive director was rarely present. The LVN was incompetent. The entire place was disorganized and difficult to deal with. They made grand promises of what life for our loved ones would look like but were unable to follow through. The list of excuses was never ending. BEWARE! This has been a terrible experience dealing with them.
