He is so happy. The staff, food reasonably good most of the time, and how clean the place is

There was no issue with the administrative employees only issues with the executive staffing. The original Executive Director was there one day and gone the next with no explanation given to the residents' family members. Also there were staffing issues with the aides. I was told that one of the aides had not come to work 10 days out of 14. My favorite and most attentive aide quit because on several occasions she was left to handle the whole unit, seeing that the residents were fed, cleaning the kitchen, getting the residents ready and into bed, in addition to dispensing medications. I was there personally to witness this on two consecutive days. When she complained, the executive director told her he could show her the door. She ended up quitting. She was sad because she loved the residents. The company brought on board a new executive director. You would have thought she would have gone around to introduce herself to the residents/family members. Very few times did I see any interaction between her and the patients. My husband died[Date Removed] and they didn't stop [Date Removed] monthly fee from hitting my bank. I was told in the contract stated that I would be responsible for paying for 14 days. I can't find this stated in the contract. He passed away; he didn't move to another facility. Every time I call to talk to the executive Director, (she is new on staff) I am told she is in a meeting. I feel like she is avoiding me. This is a lot of money and I have funeral expenses.

The Pearl is great for a resident without memory or many mobility issues. I think the food, events and staff are great! The general caregivers are great but medicine management and extra caregiving still needs to improve. This place is definitely not for someone who is bound to a bed and needs a lot of extra help. Recently, some residents have started losing nice clothes and blankets. There is no accountability for that.

The common areas and Mom's room are always very clean. The staff is always very kind and professional. They have many fun activities and sometimes have musical guests come in and perform for the residence. It is expensive, but not as expensive as other places we looked at, and the quality is much higher.

They are very helpful and answer your questions on an expedient manner.

They made move in and transition very easy. I would recommend. Great staff and services.

All the above rate a 4 or a 5. The friendly staff, quality of care and cleanliness are top of the list for my and myself as well. They are a 5. The low end of the list above is the food. It is hit and miss for my dad. Overall experience is A+. [name removed] is amazing

I just want to point a few things out. We love the place overall. But their medication management is a hit or miss. Because our mom has health problems, it's hard to maintain her condition without proper medication management. Their system has problems and instructions from the nurse doesn't get updated to the caregivers. Almost all the caregivers are great.

Our family is thankful for the care our sister receives at Elan Corpus Christi Memory Care. She is happy there ~ she enjoys the food, loves the caregivers, and tells us how blessed she feels to be a part of this community. The staff are attentive, kind, and communicate with us when she needs personal items or to give us updates. The Nurse Practitioner keeps us informed about her health and wellbeing. It brings us comfort to know our sister is content, safe, and surrounded by people who care for her. We are grateful to the Elan Corpus Christi team for all they do!!!!

The individual I worked with was very informative and addressed all my questions. She understood my situation and was able to provide me with alternative options. I did this for a friend who needed this visit to determine options for herself and husband. It's going to be difficult for me to describe them and help her make tough life style changes. This person gave me names of people to call to aid in her choices. even showed me the types of rooms available. but left everything open so we can come back and get any more info needed. Kudos for being so kind and generous with a novice!

Elan Corpus Christie staff are very kind and personable. They treat mom ([name removed]) kindly and with much patience. The facility is beautiful and they offer a lot of amenities. The price is comparable to other facilities

The nurses that I had contact with were amazing. The administration was also great. All were very attentive and compassionate.

The personal care assistance through a marvelous job and they show that they honestly care about what they're doing and about those they're helping.

After my wife of 52 years died, my daughter, [name removed] moved me from a single family house, to an assited care facility nearby. I live recently had a fractured skill and series strokes.

Staff has listened to everything I have reported. And for the most part have taken care of or has put in motion to resolve the issues. If I was ever in need of assisted living The Pearl would definitely be an option.

All in all I am happy with WestMark. It is clean, the food is good and the staff is friendly and they try to be helpful when asked.

Great new place. Needs improvement in certain places. Have had a couple of issues. Some have been resolved. Looking into moving my mother into a more hands on nursing care place. Plus we have a language barrier with her and. I Spanish speaking people to communicate with her.

The rent went up without anyone letting me know. I know my mom is at the top for care but I feel rent and care are very expensive and now it's gone up another [fee removed] a month. It's at the point now her monthly income cannot cover expenses. If you have any ideas or ways to help or assistance in this I'd love to hear! Overall my mom is happy at the facility. I am very pleased with the care! Price is the only thing.

The music they play in the foyer is both too loud and certainly not enjoyable to the residents. Staff picks of "modern" music is not what I believe their residents would choose

Overall, the pearl has been great - it's never easy and I don't think anyone could earn a 5 overall, but they've been great, very supportive and helpful. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would absolutely recommend The Pearl Senior Living to other families.
