The director is great! I enjoyed our tour. Lots of amenities. Nice room layouts, nice gathering rooms. I'll have to think about the total costs and the neighborhood; busy street, residential/shopping areas.

We were not happy with Silver Creeks memory care. They did not do anything with the residents. Every time I would visit she was sitting in front of a tv. Me and my family visited daily. Silver Creek is probably great for assisted living but not great for memory care.

Staff is great! Corporate very unprofessional

Summit Place has a unique set up for townhomes. For that reason, I decided to move here. The staff at Summit is very welcoming and professional. That is in direct contrast to the unprofessional and uncaring nature of the Silvercrest Corporate Office. The corporate office seems to make policies that will increase rent revenue with little or no regard to the inconsistency or if it makes sense. They do not understand that residents that should be the primary focus of their policies, not the bottom line. Perhaps a course in hospitality management is in order. I had two experiences where I tried to communicate with them and they refused to be bothered or communicate with me. Silvercrest is struggling to keep up and will continue to fall short. As a side note, there is now pretty new signage at Summit Place. I am unclear how that impacts the resident experience.

I believe currently being investigated for a bullying employee

We had a family member stay there. As a whole, it was a good experience with some outstanding employees. That's the good news. The bad news is that (in my opinion) there was an employee there that bullied some residents for his own entertainment. Management was made aware of the situation both verbally and in writing. While the executive director said she had addressed the situation, the employee in question at least occasionally completely disregarded management's direction. While you may tout that you hold the position of executive director, you also should be capable of fulfilling the responsibilities of the position you have been hired for.

Not impressed with this facility -- it is crammed behind a retail shopping area. Very, very, small common areas indoors and only one small common area outside overlooking the parking lot. Would have liked more dining options/availability. Nice variety of activities. Shannon wrote our appointment down wrong so Deb gave us the tour.

Nightmare

Beware. In less than 60 days I have had two unauthorized entries into my apartment (independent side) and 35 of us have money attempted to be stolen out of our bank accounts. This is not an allegation. Contact the Eden Prairie police department to get a printout of the of how many people have been impacted, and what has been transpiring here.

Great marketing, but the reality is poor.

Parkshore has a great marketing department, but that is about where it ends. We had a great tour, but discovered pretty soon they weren't very upfront about the waiting list. We were very clear that our mom was moving from out of state and we were concerned about her fitting in and making friends. They talked up all the wonderful things they did to help residents when they move in, but upon moving in, aside from a activities calendar review, mom was on her own to figure it out. We were also clear that mom had some mild cognitive issues, but was still very independent. They expounded upon how they could easily "bridge the gap" between independent living and memory care with a la carte services, but very quickly pushed us to move her into memory care at 3-4X the cost after the staff noticed any memory lapse.

Run like a rental property

My mom moved in to Parkshore after much-ado over the waiting list. They really marketed all the amenities and the caring staff, but at the end of the day they were not able to deliver. They made a big show before we moved in about all the onboarding and services available, but when mom had trouble integrating initially and we asked for assistance helping her feel at home, the answer was "This is independent living and she got the orientation so she should be able to figure it out on her own." Things never got much better from there. They had very little patience for some of the idiosyncrasies of age my mom started to show and the answer to any problem, real or manufactured, always involved paying them more money.

Dissappointed

I am a family member of a patient living there& I feel as though it is disrespectful to have a photo of a GREAT old employee who was driven to quit due to old management. She never harmed anyone& went above and beyond for not just every resident, but the families as well. I don't understand how professional that is& honestly she was a big part of that place& I knew if she was there, they all would not only get the care they needed but also know they are loved. It is against the law to ban someone who quit& also there could be another law suit& that wouldn't be good at all. I am saddened by this and the fact that 3 good directors were let go. I don't know what type of mananagement it's under, but something has to be done.

If you have a choice I would steer clear of Esplanade Gardens. I visit my mother every day and the lack of care is horrible. Management always apologies but doesn't hold anyone accountable. First impression are great especially the first floor. The memory care residents are not clean in a timely manner and left for several hours at a time before changed. Literally sitting in soiled depends, soiled bedding, sheet and floors. No hand sanitizing prior to meals. Paperwork of security checks is are not accurately documented. Medicine not always administered in a timely manner, waiting 2 week after UTI diagnose for medication. Undermanned, underpaid, high turn over. If your looking for attention to detail for your memory care loved one - this is not the place!

***PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID***

I would want others to know that we did not have a good experience at Esplanade Gardens. As long as the head nurse and the facility manager are still here, do not even waste your time going unless you want your loved one to end up in worse conditions than what they were before. It is far from assisted, the staff members are terrible with the residents. My mom fell and it took them 20 minutes to get to her and they were very rude when they got there. They did not follow through with anything they said they were going to do in the beginning. I would not recommend.

Dangerous ED/Staff & Not Family Friendly

Staff won't even talk to the resident's family falsely stating "we don't care." The resident is confined and isolated, but the staff doesn't care as long as they get paid. The resident falls all the time, got a concussion and went to the hospital, lives in nothing but a diaper. Their neglect is despicable.

Dangerous ED/Staff & Not Family Friendly

Dangerous ED/Staff & Not Family Friendly [Name removed] the ED is the most rude and acrimonious against family members, refusing to communicate with the children. This is also evident in the staff. [Name removed] APPROVED moving a 90+yo resident DURING THE PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN until the children intervened and APS was involved. [Name removed] FALSELY stated the resident was "a special case and has no family that cares about him" without ever contacting the children. He is in lock-step with Bexar County Probate Court against family members. Brookdale has many affordable locations in San Antonio that I toured (much less than this joint) and are FAMILY FRIENDLY. [Name removed] and Esplanade have been a very bad experience for the family.

Corruption & Deceit

REVISED :: The furnaces in the 1 bedroom units are electric whereas the other units have a gas furnace. You are responsible for the electricity used for the furnace. I had Excel Energy come out to my unit and make the necessary corrections to my bill as electric furnaces (during the winter months) is discounted. This was never disclosed to us prior to the lease signing - we were told that All the utilities were included in the monthly rent - NOT True. The Property Manager had refused the Excel employee access to the property - so I had him remove his badge and had him enter as my guest. When she found this out - she called Excel "Demanding" my account information - Excel refused as this would be a violation of The “Privacy Act". She was verbally aggressive and thank goodness that Excel recorded their conversation with her !! In January I did not receive a “Certificate Of Rent Paid”. SCOM was claiming tax exemption) I investigated this with the city and county only to discover that no deed had ever been filed. It was still in the city of MG's name. This was addressed by 3 MN government offices. SCOM “Refused" to correct the “Intentional Inaccuracy” of my CRP. MG requires ALL rental communities to do background checks - SCOM was aware of this requirement and yet did not do so. This is a community that consists of “Senior Bullies” I personally experienced/endured senior bullying myself. The Intentional - Alienating, Ostracism and Isolating of individuals. Gossiping & Rumors. I personally was "Intentionally" skipped over for a garage stahl by the leasing agent numerous times. I Most definitely would "NOT" advise my Worst of acquaintances to reside here?? Corporate & Staff (FACTUAL) DID use “Intimidation Tactics" toward Seniors to silence those of us who voiced our concerns with threats of "eviction or termination of our lease agreement/s". SCOM termed it :: "Interferring With The Management Of The Property". I have saved All documentation as support of my statements made here. SCOM Management did NOT like the Fact that I possessed much knowledge about MN Tenant’s Rights - that because they were 2 months behind in work orders - that I/We could go down to the County Courthouse - file a complaint and then the County would hold our Rent Checks in an escrow account until the work orders had been completed. In addition :: dog feces have been left in the halls & sidewalks for walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters to role through - A MG "Health Code Violation". Quite Disgusting.

Not what they say

My mom and I were disagreeing on which assisted living facility would be best for her. I insisted on assisted living and she would not go over $2400/month. A Place for Mom recommended visiting Esplanade Gardens and check it out. My mom got a great special, $2428/month plus $32 for prescription maintenance (state rule), and I was told that someone would check on her everyday. I took care of her RX so not sure of the $32/month excuse but most importantly nobody checked on her. The only time they did was when they saw me visit or I complained about it, they would come by for 3-4 days then stop. Their bus didn't take the residences anywhere except doc appointments and HEB/Walmart once a week, unless it was broke down. Food was not good, same activities every week and bad housekeeping. I moved her back to my house but now I'm unable to work at this time unless we pay out of pocket for a provider.
