She has been available to answer all of our questions. We have a move in date of April 9th and Mom is excited to make the move that she has already begun packing. It was with the information and guidance provided by your service that made this part of the challenge...well much less of a challenge.

She is in independent living. Their staff is great, I can't say enough. Two meals a week are included, and you can buy additional meals whenever you want. There is a full kitchen in the apartment. They have exercise class tons of outings, bible study, cards, lots of stuff. That's just the stuff I know off the top of my head! After we saw Brightondale, my mom decided that she didn't need to view anymore because we liked it so much.

It was beautiful, it was gorgeous, but the guy who was showing us around was new and he got lost in the hallways. My dad being 94 has his dog who is very important to him and he wouldn't have been able to walk those long hallways to take him outside.

Love this place. Have friends whose loved ones are or have been residents here. A warm welcoming environment. Rooms were rather small but encourages residents to get out and get to know their neighbors.

Lots of units -immediate avail $1400 includes 8 dinners for both No private info required. Month by month - $1500 deposit. Transition to Assisted Living in sister unit next door. Care package or a la carte at that time. Assisted Living much more $

It was a bit far for us girls, but my dad may like the distance for work. There was also a place for him to smoke on the property. I didn't see a lot going on as far as residents playing cards or chatting. It will be in the list of definite possibilities.

We chose Brightondale because we had previous experience with this community. We had a previous loved one here for more then 3 years and the entire experience was good, so it made it an easy choice when looking for a place for another loved one. We are very please with Brightondale and would recommend it to anyone.

Very nice, but primarily an assisted living facility. 1 BR/1Ba with meals and cleaning provided. Approximately $2450 per month. Any additional assistance needed is charged per item.

Great location. By pizza Luce / champs. Seems cheaper but not sure.

Very large grande entrance and lobby (3 story). Very large restaurant style dining and very good food. 2 large windows in available room. Memory Care unit fresh and clean. No odors. 2-4 outings monthly. Very organized and professional. Very HIPA compliant. Have formal assessment process for admission. $2560 base rate plus a la carte individualized care.

Really nice place - lively, nice apartments and restaurant. Assisted living was lovely.

Rooms are big and everything was very clean. I liked the laundry areas on every floor.

Very impressed with the facility. Rooms seemed small. For assisted living, we'd prefer separate living room/kitchenette and bedroom - more like apt.

I moved my parents into Parkwood Shores in 2015 after my mom had a fall and discovering that dad was not able to fend for himself while she was in rehab. Also in rehab it became clear that they were not taking their medications and that dementia was becoming a problem. The fourth floor is the Alzheimer's unit. It's a secure floor with doors locked and you need a code to get out. That was a good thing for my parents because they would get lost. After a few days there they became more comfortable and I'm not sure they were aware that they were locked in - it became home and familiar. I was happy that they were safe and not needing to go out to get groceries or drive or have to cook and leave the stove on. Staff took them by van to appointments and to outside activities which they enjoyed for awhile - Alzheimer's made the world they were comfortable in very small, and it doesn't get better, so having them in a now familiar place was perfect for them in their situation. The care was pretty good - it's a very difficult job - and it's never going to be "as good as if they were home". But I think that's a fallacy, because 24-hour care really, in my opinion, can't be done by family alone. We couldn't have done it ourselves.
