I am quite satisfied with our experience at Brookdale. Staff is friendly and willing to help. It's the best fit for my husband.

Over all the experience was good, with a few exception around housekeeping. I know they are short staffed which was part of the problem. I would recommend to others.

Many things were missing from my husband's room and we were unable to retrieve all of them. The person across the hall had a lot of things in her room. At least we were able to retrieve those! For the memory care unit. The unit just seemed depressing, hard to judge how clean. Staff very friendly, helpful. I was away, and had to text director to get staff to take him outside. His visitors reported that he was either sitting by himself or pacing the halls. I found him walking upset in halls when I picked him up. I don't know about meal because my husband is unable to remember anything about them. Did not get any feedback on activities. Did get one text with a picture of him on the putting green outside. He did not want to be there, kept trying to leave, so I don't think he was off the locked unit much. If he could have stayed in assisted living, I would have thought the value for money was a 5. Although the staff in memory care was very good, I'm not sure there were enough to give the care I wanted for him.

I like that it is smaller than most. Staff knows residents by name.It was very hard and stressful to pick. It was comparing "apples and oranges". It did seem to be a good price. Also they had an arrangement to get my loved one, out for an outside doctors appointment.

We highly recommend Clarkston Comfort Care and have also received positive feedback from others that have visited. One of the main positives is the staff and the care they provide. It's not perfect and improvements can be made, but I am so comfortable leaving when I visit knowing my loved one is being cared for.

I have and will recommend them to others. Caring , friendly staff reasonably clean building, quite neighborhood. They had open rooms and a small amount of patients which should give staff more time for each patient.

The residents are treated as independents. Unfortunately, they have a very slow response time when a resident calls for help. Sometimes the response is non-existent. Not sure if this is due to understaffing or incompetence. My mom feels the residents aren't notified well if activities. They write it on the board in the dining room the day of but there is no reminding the residents before that. Since residents like my mom have issues with memory, more reminders would be appreciated. Maybe a flyer slid under the door. We also think that there needs to be more variety in the activities that are provided to the residents.

I would recommend to other families. They are very knowledgeable and experienced. We picked this community, because my brother recommended it.

It's a nice facility, and they just remodeled it. They have nice housing, and offer good meals. They have problems with keeping help. There has been a change in staff. My loved one has had good care. They are trying different things to see if her condition will improve. The people are nice. They offer special events for the residents. Overall, I would recommend to other families.

I would tell others that we were going to put my father-in-law into Clarkston comfort care and they took the non-refundable fee and went to see my father-in-law to evaluate him. They decided they were not going to take him and then never contacted anybody and kept the money. I was very disappointed in that.

I thought overall the staff were pretty good. It is a newer facility so that is really a plus. My loved one had been in a few places previously and none of them were nearly as good as this one. If you are looking for a nice clean place for end of life, this would a good choice. I would recommend Clarkston Comfort Care.

I think The Avalon of Auburn Hills is a very clean and modern facility, which I really appreciate. Our whole family has been impressed with the facility, yet It's still a very warm and family-like atmosphere. Overall I think the care of our family member is good. We've had to talk with them a few times about her diet. Sometimes that communication wasn't getting to their dietary department. Coordination of that took some time, but we finally did get it resolved.

Our family had an in-person tour and from everything we saw and the staff members we spoke with we thought it was a really good experience.

The staff is very friendly and caring. The facility is new and clean. We were very happy with the level of care but we moved our mom out because she wanted to be in a larger facility with more people.

Communication is excellent, as is the friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, they were taken over by a new company which immediately raised the price exactly the amount of social security raise, 8.7%. I found that insulting, as it was so obvious!

My loved one seems to like the food. They have a lot of activities available. They have the best care available for the residents. They need to improve on staffing.

I suppose that increases happen every year, but 13% is ridiculous. And 30 days to come up with that money is insane. I was needing more help understanding expectations as I work full time. The only answer I get is "read your contract". I would like to share that the care staff here is amazing!

This was a nice community. It wasn't the right fit, due to their needs.

They really go out of their way to help navigate the whole process. There are only men there right now, although they do take men and women. I just don't see a lot of socialization between the residents, and I wish there was more of that. But the staff really go out of their way to try to interact with my loved one's interests. And the facility is very clean and nice.

My loved one alway cleaned their plate, so I assumed they liked the food. They participated in some activities, and seemed to enjoy themselves. It was a quick adjustment. It's a nice facility, and has a nice set-up. My only concern was the vegatables, which is sometimes old, in paricular the broccoli.
