I was not impressed. The person that was giving the tour told us that you want to look at that people living there, that they are moving about and are engaged. The only two ladies we saw were sitting in chairs falling asleep. My husband and I started joking calling it the zombie place. It was cheaper, but mom thought that the hallways were dark, and happy hour was just a folding table with a cloth and people weren't even really talking.

We were sold that the monthly “rate” was all inclusive and it would not increase as more care would be needed; well within 2 months additional fees started to be added and priced my dad out of what he could afford. The meals were less than desirable and the residents were required to circle the meal and when you are shaking I’m sure the service staff had to guess what was being chosen. There were 3 different cooks in the 2 & 1/2 months he was there. The direct told me I should not email her as she just forwards them to handles it and I should take more cards so I can email the correct person. I shouldn’t have to figure out who handles what and felt she should be aware of what was going on.

Our experience with The Pointe At Cedar Park was not good, it was a negative experience. At times they did not have adequate staffing and we would not recommend them.

The introduction cookies were really good…where did that level of quality go? The attitude of the “care givers”…poor for the most part. The rules about family and friends not being able to attend meals, even if a resident needs help cutting their food…they are not allowed to come help. Caregivers not closely watching over a resident who is at high risk of falling. Care givers insisting on an early bedtime just to be finished getting everyone ‘taken care of…’ clearly without regard to the tiredness of the resident. Dining room issues, everyday they are out of something residents want and expect to have… Ketchup, Coffee creamer…ice cream to name a few.…Poor or no response to the emergency call buttons…Complaints taken to management…not acted upon. They have an entire set of excuses, to avoid dealing with their poor quality staff. This place is such a disappointment, I really do not have words to express how poorly it is run. Beware…it is not what it looks like at first glance.

We picked this community, because of the cost, and relative location. Th activities manager was constantly pulled away from supporting residents and was asked to do sales instead. They are short staffed, so lots of things fall through the cracks. My loved ones nutrition and eating habits did improve while there. The shuttle driver quit so they didn't get to go to a lot of events.

We weren't able to see the entire community during the tour. The pricing seemed expensive, and the community seemed empty. We didn't see any residents, and hardly any staff.

My mother is a resident and the staff are lovely people. It is very clean & updated decor with nice activities. The food has become a joke. Chicken nuggets one day, a greasy slice of pizza the next, green peas 5 out of 7 days. Not healthy at all. People are healthier and happier when served well balanced and fresh food options. I didn't want to give a poor review, but the management refuses to acknowledge the issue.

Our Dad hasn’t been getting his Rx’s for over two weeks now! He had bloodwork done & his Throid level was off the charts! Heard new mgmt is now there. Head mgr is named [name removed]. Not impressed Also, at 7:30 am this morning, no one was sitting at the front desk! Not happy with this & more!

Greatwood is a nice facility, but the staff did not seem very engaged. It felt more nursing home like and everything was enclosed which is why my loved ones did not choose this facility.

We toured this community and the staff was very nice. The community looked run down and everything was very outdated. It did not fit our needs.

We had both of my grandparents at this facility and had a very bad experience at Greatwood. I kept trying to pay the deposit and they would say they would get it later. The director called me asking why I owed them 12,000 dollars and I told her we tried to pay them and they wouldn't accept it. I found out they were charging both my grandparents $5 a meal even though my grandma wasn't even eating and my grandpa did not sign up for food delivery. My grandpa had to go in the hospital and stayed a couple of days. When he tried to come back, they said that he was not allowed here. My grandma was not doing well at this point. The facility gave us 2 hours to move both of my grandparents out and I had to end up moving them into my living room. The staff members here were not friendly or understanding. I would not recommend this community to anyone.

Was less impressed with this community. There was no walking paths for the residents to get outside. The carpets in the public areas and hallways needs replacing, it’s pattern undulates even for us younger people, I can only imagine the disorientation for seniors.

An attractive facility with homey feel. No memory care units available now. Had one personal care room available, bedroom + living area with lots of windows being renovated $4400/mo. Only 12 units in memory care and observed most of memory care patients were pretty far advanced and not too alert. Whole facility required code to enter/leave. Nice garden area but not secured at the moment. [Removed] was very nice and seemed concerned with providing the best possible care.

Very showy with the holidays. Epic failure with the day to day care. Lots of flourish and big productions for Mother's day, Christmas, memorial day, etc. Great decorations. But the day to day, is not very good. The choices out there are limited and they take people other facilities might not but they are not patient centered. Not enough staff. Management is not affective, Activities are juvenile.

Educated, friendly director. Assisted living dining room depressing. Comments about housekeeping = excellent; food = meat tough;

We recently toured several retirement communities in the Sugar Land/Richmond area and were really hoping to decide on Greatwood due to location and ease of access for family. Unfortunately we were very disappointed by the outdated facility. The carpet was old and worn, and overall the place looked like not a dime had been spent on anything new in years, especially compared to other places. There were no residents socializing in common areas, and it just didn't seem to be a "happy place". When we arrived we couldn't find a parking place other than halfway around the building, so parking is an issue also.

It may have been the dreary weather, but we weren’t overly impressed. It seemed like more of a “facility” than a “community,” although the marketing director emphasized how much they’d do to work with us to make Mom comfortable and happy. Won’t make our short list.

Greatwood Senior Lifestyle community has gone downhill within the last year or two. The building and ventilation A/C is in dire need of maintenance, the interior need updating and a thorough clean (carpeting is worn and stained), the meals are poor, not nutritionally balanced, served with skimpy portions and not freshly made (food is constantly running out - very unprofessional and uncaring attitude in the kitchen. We would eat with parents and enjoy the meal but now we would never even try...very sad). Overall, the employees are pleasant and friendly but unguided by professionals in senior lifestyle management. Greatwood has strong resident committees but complaints are met with excuses, delays and no change. Management needs overhauling, kitchen needs overhauling, building needs overhauling. We are ashamed to bring visitors to this complex. The rents go up yearly and the service and commitment to residents go down. We would no longer recommend this facility to family or friends.

Greatwood Senior Livestyle has really deteriorated over the last year or so. The building was built in 2000-2001...and updates have been minimal. The carpet in the common areas is worn and stained, water leaks both inside and out, mold and mildew throughout ventilation, lack of proper maintenance, and sadly, the food now served is not nutritionally balanced. In fact, the food is hardly edible. The residents have complained about both the service and the meals but are constantly given excuses such as menu items being restricted by Senior Livestyle - if this is part of a "family-owned" community, I would hate to be family. As rental rates rise each year, the expectations should also. The rates do not match the poor quality of food and the lack of proper building maintenance. Please explore the many other newer communities in the Richmond and Sugar Land area before you decide...it will be well worth it.

We did not have a good experience with this community at all. We moved my loved one in during the holiday season, and it seems like she got completely lost in the shuffle. They seemed like they weren't expecting her at all, the place was not clean, nobody showed her around or introduced her to what they offer (and they still have not, a month later), and they just really did not leave a good first impression at all. They also have issues with their maintenance and cleaning staff. The level of maintenance is not acceptable, I have seen wheelchairs snag on plants that were allowed to grow into sidewalk paths. The cleaning staff have been very impersonal and unprofessional, and make Mom feel like a stranger in her own apartment when they come in to clean. This all came as a big shock because the community looks very nice, and their sales staff sold it very well. Unfortunately the quality did not live up at all to what they promised during the sales process.
