2 meal plan, or no meal and a kitchen. Plenty of parking. Pool. Pretty and active. nice blend of community and meals. And can be on retirement plan. About 4,000/mo.

I toured with Bonnie about 2 years ago. I know a few people who used to live there and they said that La Vida Real is very focused on money and 'nickels & dimes' you to death. Seemed expensive and too far away at the time but I'd like to see it again.

River's Edge is a really good community but we just needed a higher level of care. The community overall was really good and we would recommend it to anyone that is in need of an independent living community.

although this community is very pretty - they have a lot of hidden fees on top of a very expensive monthly fee which put this out of our price range.

Liked the apartment, closet space and washer and dryer in the apartment. Didn't have to move when change from independent to assisted living.

I was very impressed with the director and Narrows Glen. He was very helpful. On the tour he called residents by name, also staff members. It was not as expensive as I thought, but they do not accept Medicaid which could be important in the long run.

My Favorite place so far. took a tour and like this place alot. full kitchen! Independant and assisted living are mixed in with one another. Negative community is very spread out. long walk to dining hall.

Has a great feel both assisted and memory wings. Lots of activities. Park-like outdoor environment. Nearly anytime dining.

Large rooms.....she liked this place before when it was only independent living. Integrate assisted and independent living. No skilled nursing. Up to Level 2 care

Beautiful. Not many residents around to determine if we'd fit in. Staff was very patient and kind.

My stepmom lived in their memory care unit for over three years. I am so grateful to their wonderful, caring staff that kept her spotless and treated her like family. It is an excellent value given the facilities and staffing. I was not very impressed when she was in the regular assisted living section. Seemed like staff was unhappy or just didn't want to engage much with her. Perhaps they aren't trained to deal with memory problem issues.

I would much rathered had placed my dad here however they didn't have the nursing staff onsite. The staff was friendly and very nice. The community is clean and well maintained. The location was perfect close to my dads friends .

This is a comfortable facility originally designed as a resort. It could use more safety equipment for elderly and handicapped residents. The staff is competent and friendly. The food is very good.

This place is opposite the Van Nuys Middle School and it's way too expensive for seniors. It was clean and seemed very nice. It seemed higher grade but it was just way too expensive.

My parents were there but I think it was just not as friendly as the place my mother is in now. There just wasn’t as kind of a culture there and that affected the quality of the care.

The facility staff does not get my mother down to activities as much as I would like or if at all. We have had some issues figuring out the medication. The food is good but the menu could be changed up a bit. The residents get alot of chicken for dinner and eggs for breakfast. I am taking my mom to all of her appointment because either the transportation does not go that far or the times are not convenient. I have contact with the care stuff but not with the professional staff. Once they received the check they had completed their job. I am rating the activities poor since my mother has not really participated in many of them. They have bingo, exercise, music, bridge, etc.

My parents have lived here 14+ years and the food was exceptionally delicious for 6 years. Then that long-term chef disappeared and the 3 chefs since then have given my parents and us as guests worse and worse food. I get the impression it may be partly the SRG food budget the chefs are given as the quality of especially fresh food has steadily declined. For instance, carrots being cheap are put in everything (Thansgiving turkey stuffing??). Meats are very dry and tasteless even when covered with sauces. I know it's hard to cook for so many and seniors lose their taste buds, but my wife and I have not lost our sense of taste. Tonight the roasted chicken thighs were dry, the breaded eggplant was chewy, the gravy covered turkey was dry, the roasted potatoes were tasteless, and the server reported at our 4:30 pm dinner that the fresh berries listed on the menu had "run out". I suggest the $[removed] revenue generated per SRG employee be used to buy some good food. Or sell

They get you in and then start raising the rent. Food quality from day 1 has steadily declined. Still waiting for maintenance repair on refrigerator 6 months later
