this was the best as my 2nd choice. It was the homeyest and friendliest, but didn't have the skilled nursing in case of surgery. I liked the price and the tour a lot!

Current Ranking = #2 choice. Facility is clean and staff is very nice. Downside, they are about to start renovations for a 6 to 9 month period. We are still considering this as an option for my mother, however they have had a recent resident drowning. Put some doubt in our minds about facility management.

My mom and I have already visited here.. Definitely a consideration.

My mom is there, it is just fine. They have bingo, movies, card games, they go shopping and to the flea market. They do a lot! The food is excellent, we ate there ourselves and we just loved it. We are very happy with Grand Villa.

We were greeted at the door by Gigi who ushered us into the private dining room where we were served a plentiful and tasty meal. She addressed all of our questions. The place looked clean and uncrowded. We met other staff members and were greeted warmly. None of the residents approached us and we did not visit with any of them. We were given a tour of the ALF and Memory Care Center and then she drove us to a Villa which was empty. There is a waiting list for these and the smaller units. They were spacious, clean and well maintained. The landscaping was kept up. There are no physical fitness facilities on campus but a bus takes residents to local facilities. There was a screened porch overlooking natural wetlands she said are protected so the place will remain isolated into the future. The Village is 5 years old and there are only 89 residents. There are no plans to expand. There is a 30 day trial to decide if someone wants to live there. There is an intense interview/orientation program upon entering the Village. There are Village planned activities daily and the residents also plan group activities. Family and friends are welcome to visit and dine with residents at no charge. There is a w/d in each villa and full kitchen. Everything is monitored and residents wear alert buttons. Anyone can leave with a 30 day notice, otherwise there is a one year lease that can be broken. The village is located just outside of Bunnell but is within Palm Coast city limits on a through street to much shopping and restaurants. We liked it and will include it as one of the facilities to show my parents.

We visited and it was really, really good. I don't have anything negative to say about them. The only thing is that they are too close to where I'm living to be perfectly honest. The last thing I need is my mother right around the corner so it was just the location that I didn't like. I'm not sure what their costs were but I think they were in line with others.

I was referred to Grand Villa by A Place For Mom. Everyone at Grand Villa has been very helpful. I am not crazy about the food I would give it about a 2.5. But I have friends whose loved ones live here as well and I along with them recommend Grand Villa.

California styling. Similar to an apartment building. Nice screen-in patios on first and second floor.

This was our first choice but we are not sure if it will be okay with no sink in the kitchen area. This is a great place! We loved the environment.

I toured this community and it was nice. The staff was friendly, good variety of activities, but apartments were small. Also, all of the doors to outside led to an outdoor courtyard. It was nice and was secure, but no hallways. Not the set up we were looking for.

It's worth living at Truewood. The apartments are okay, but we would prefer to see a standard kitchen, rather than a kitchenette with a camper sized refrigerator and a microwave. Attention from the staff has been good so far - I have no complaints there. For safety of the residents and visitors, there needs to be more lighting around the back, along the sidewalks, and from the parking lot. They provide three meals a day, but the food could use improvement. Breakfast and lunch are too close together. And I would like to see more variety and increased portion size. Overall I would still recommend it for the price.

I liked Grand Villa of Clearwater a lot, but I found it to be really tiny. Even the lobby was very small, the group meeting area was small, and the apartments were small. But it was located close by to things my loved one could walk to if she wanted to, which was nice.

I chose Truewood by Merrill because they are very receptive. My apartment is good size for what I need. I do think they could improve on the food quality that is served. Every time they serve chicken, it is overcooked therefore making it tough. The food is served with gravy and that hides imperfections. Their response time for any problems that you might have has been excellent. I would recommend to others looking.

We chose Grand Villa of Boynton Beach because of the price and location. The room sizes here are ample. The food here was institutional. I think others should know that I do not think the residents are given enough fluids, the fluids they are given were high sugar such as apple and cranberry juice which creates yeast. She needed to be changed more often because this lead to yeast infections. Other than that, I really liked the socialization and the activities they provided. I think they were a little short staffed in the evenings. I would suggest that a family supplement fluids, something with electrolytes and they can have that on staff to provide to your loved one.

I would look at other places. One of the problems is that they have respite and my mom took and went there instead of looking at other places, she might have liked it much better. The clout that was built, was that it was right down the street. One example is that my mom was having problems with diarrhea and that they can only give medicine by the doctor's. I had to deliver the the medicine, and the nurse was playing a game and told my mom that she would be down in a little bit to open the bottle of medicine.

Your mom is not happy with the food. The food does not have much taste.The layout of the community is good. They have outdoor space. The staff is good. I think it is a good place. They do not have very many activities and some are not age appropriate. They don't always remind the residents about the activities.

Help shortage mainly nights, weekends and holidays. Young help unable to work unsupervised without texting, and socializing. There are excellent techs also but careload is heavy. Extremely friendly, and excellent protocols in place for emergencies and situations. I feel comfortable in an emergency care situation. Mom has lived in three places and this is the best. Pros and cons in all. Always best for family to stay involved if possible.

This facility is quite impressive when you enter. The staff is friendly and attentive. The overall cleanliness is on par. There are varied activities for overall participation . But what was extremely disappointing was the quality and appeal of the food. The preparation left a lot to be desired and many meals are sent back to the kitchen only to get a disappointing replacement. This is the second chef since the opening and they still don't get it . Unfortunately management has been informed and they have yet to rectify the situation. I am seriously hoping ,for the sake of the residents ,this issue will be addressed and changed for the better in a timely manner.

This community has only been open about a year so the appearance of it is still wonderful everything is clean and well maintained. The staff is very nice and helpful that we met on the tour. The pricing was a little more than expected and put it out of our budget range. They do have 2hr hour nursing which is a nice feature.
