Don't believe what they tell you. Very short staffed. My mom was there 2 months and they only cleaned twice.

Overall it has worked for my brother due to the cost. The facility is clean but there needs to be a lot of painting throughout the common areas. The exterior of the building needs pressure washing. As to personnel the front desk and management are helpful and nice. The dining room personnel seem to have attitudes the times I have eaten there. Needs improvement. Activities are fine and most of the time the food is good. My brother would like to have more to eat in the evening but just him.

Very old building. The entire exterior of the building needs power washing beginning with the wicker chairs and white wooden rocking chairs at the front entrance. There are holes in the interior ceilings that need repair ;two outside my room where water leaked from the ceiling and the carpet below it was soaked. Fans to dry wet carpet in the hallways are sometimes needed due to leaks from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor. The building is not kept up & the owners don’t seem to care, but I believe [name removed], the manager, will address that. Many residents attended a meeting last week about the quality of the food going downhill, & [name removed] listened, took notes, & the food is now delicious since that meeting. The next meeting is about the building itself, staffing & safety for people with memory issues. The activities director & physical therapist are great. The maintenance men are responsive …hanging shelves, changing fan lights, etc. The residents are kind & help each other if help is needed.

The food has really gone downhill since the longtime chef left.

We would have to say the meals were not very good. Small portions and the food was not as advertised. It was more like school cafeteria food. The coffee bar that was advertised was non existent. Never any coffee, creamer, sugar or cups. It was a very depressing place.

This is a good community. It is safe and the staff are very helpful. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and there are choices for the residents to choose from. Lunch is the bigger. There are communal washer and dryers on each floor of the building. The resident is able to have a microwave in their apartment. Housekeeping once a week is included as well.

We toured with Bloom at Belfair. This facility was actually my first choice, but they failed to fulfill the contract that I signed and refunded my money.

On the positive side, the nurses they have are fantastic. On the negative side - the administration leaves a lot to be desired. They are there 9-4 Monday through Friday and that is it. It is very hard to get a hold of them and their phone system never goes through so it is hard to talk to my dad. Overall the communication really needs to be improved - my dad went to the hospital and we were not notified until they were wheeling him into the ambulance. We never even knew he was sick. He went without medications for 4 days because they had a miscommunication with the pharmacy. The weekends are very bad, the place is only kept clean Monday through Friday but weekends it is filthy. A lot of his things go missing too. They never have the same nurses - there is a crazy amount of turnover going on. There is nothing for men to do, it mostly about the women. The food for memory care is horrible and it is always cold. The food on the assisted living side is wonderful.

We have had an issue with bugs in my loved ones' rooms twice. The cleaning staff is not very dependable and the room can be very dirty. There has been inconsistency with billing and I am having issues getting this explained.

It is mediocre. The value for the money I don't think is there. The cleanliness of my loved one's room needs improvement. I've made complaints about the room and promised that it would be taken care of, and most of the time it isn't. The staff could be trained better in memory care for the residents. The people are friendly. They have a new director in the last few months. He has been more hands-on.

The care services at this community my vary, and they currently do not have a chef. We will send bags of food to our loved one so she has food to eat. They are actively looking for a new chef. They also lost the house keeping and maintenance man, however everyone is pitching in to help where they can. Our aunt is currently in the hospital, she got sick during the night and they did not clean her clothes or bedding, so she laid in feces throughout the entire night. They do take everyone's temperatures daily, in the beginning they may of had two, but no deaths and currently no cases.

Wayman Place is immaculate, it is very clean and well kept. However, we do not feel as if we get our moneys worth and some of the staff members and care givers are very friendly and compassionate and others are not. A handful are not compassionate for this line of work. Our loved one says the food is terrible and there just is not a lot of variety to choose from. During COVID we were expecting them to clean our loved ones room once a week, since we were paying for this service and when we were finally able to visit that was not happening. There was empty boxes piled up, pictures laying on the floor and clothes piled up in the laundry room. No one was helping our loved one make her place feel homey.

The rating might be unfair as we really didn’t get to see the facility first hand . However a video tour was sent to us. We felt the facility was very Outdated, but from what we could see clean. Several interesting items like an ice cream pallor and a vintage Ny taxi cab were displayed inside the facility along with a fountain in the atrium entrance with an expansive staircase behind it ??? Maybe it’s us but stairs and older people usually don’t mix well. [Name removed] the community relations manager was lovely and very helpful.

It wasn't a good fit for my grandmother that has alzheimer's. The back yard area did have an opening where she could 'escape' if she wandered off and no one saw her. And it didn't have a pleasant smell.

The AL side of this property is wonderful, however the Memory Care side is dark, small and sad.

They do not do the activity bus and other things that they said they were going to do at this community. There is no adapting with the activities and not everyone is able to participate. I would say consider very carefully another community and do not waste your money. They stated that this was the best of the best and if this is it, it is not good.

It's kind of a raggedy operation. High staff turnover so there's no career professionals working there. Nice building. Nice activity program. Smells clean. But sloppy in some ways. They never cut my resident friends finger and toe nails, they let them grow for an inch! I have to bring diagonal cutters and sneakily cut them myself. It's crazy but true. The cook job is also high turnover and somethings wrong, I guess it's extremely low paid and the food has been quite shabby on the few times that I have visited. So, it's not bad but do not expect good service. Just a minimum to get by.

Sadly no activities in memory care recently. It's quite sad...the care is not perfect nor is it anywhere. I think the staff is kind. But things are lost, so much down time.

If you're younger than 85, look somewhere else. Young inexperienced management ...THEY KICKED ME OUT after 2 years BECAUSE I Didn't PLAY PATTY CAKE...I addressed core systemic issues with management and they weren't receptive....dining experience and food was always good despite kitchen staff turnover. Watch out for strange alarming behaviour of some residents in independent living area.

Mom was safe but the care was subpar. Thankfully she had hospice coming in daily. She has moved on from Gold Choice to another memory care facility close by! We were grateful to have GC when we needed in an emergency.
