Senior Living Asset Management

I feel comfortable with having my mom at the Emeritus. All the people are friendly there and she likes it there. Emeritus has made the transition from a home to apartment living good for her. It is very clean and does not smell like an old folks home. My mom being more independent, there could be more activities for her to participate in. She does enjoy the golf with the bi-weekly putting tournaments, and looks forward to the up coming party. The food is pretty good, thought the lunch time waiter might benefit from cross training to better service the cross over between breakfast and lunch. The chef is very open and will try one of my mothers recipes.

My mother lived at Emeritus for five years and I was there almost everyday! I can tell you it is a wonderful and caring environment lending itself to family peace of mind! The food was amazing and catered private parties great! The Beauty Shop was so convenient,Physical Therapy onsite,nursing staff,entertainment, an amazing activity director, Caring Dinning Wait Staff,transportation and security with call button response.....what more could you want for your parent???? Thank you,Emeritus!

They have some of the most caring people I could ask for. The nursing staff is beyond good, especially Phyllis. They cater to the family as well as the residence without hesitation. They immediately contact the family if there is a problem, such as fall, or worse. I am totally satisfied as the daughter of a residence.

From the pre-visit phone contacts, to the visit, to my 90 year Mother's moving in; everyone and everything has been wonderful! It is immaculate, the food is delicious, the staff is so kind and considerate. My Mother can make her own food choices and dining times to suit her personal preferences and schedule. We look forward to our Mother's future at Emeritus of Naples.

The activities my parents took part in were really great. The minute you walk through the door you are family and you have nothing to worry about – your loved ones are cared for. The food declined after a personnel change, but it’s recovering. This is a good community.

I think it’s a very caring and dedicated staff. The staff has the good of the residents at heart. My loved is younger and sometimes it’s a little hard to be near persons completing the life process. I think it’s a very good community.

I looked at many places for my Dad and the Barrington Terrace fit our needs the best. Jeannette was our contact there and she could not have been more personal, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We must have met with her at least 4 or 5 times with our family to answer our questions and to guide us through our decision making process. Dad has been there for about 2 months now and we are glad we chose the Barrington. He is too. He is getting excellent care and service - much better than he could get at home. Easy access to in-house physical therapy with a staff that encourages independence with assistance has made a big difference in Dad's physical as well as mental outlook. To go into assisted living was a difficult decision at the time, but now we think we all (including Dad) should have made it earlier. Thank you to the Barrington Terrace for being there for us.

Their complete grasp of Emeritus offerings and how to connect those offerings with the needs of seniors, has resulted in placement at the Naples facility. My thanks to the staff for the professionalism, the clarity, for going above/beyond in each facet encountered and for showing flexibility throughout the entire process.

It's been great, they've been very acommodating. Most of them were friendly. I thought the value was good. They had a lot of wonderful variety of activities and a very full schedule everybody seemed very busy there. He was very picky but what he ate he did like, I would give the food a four. He had a very hard time understanding the Haitian accent of a lot of the workers and a lot of them had a hard time understanding him they didn't speak very good English. So the communication was a little hard, the accents made it difficult. They didn't cut up his food like they were supposed to because he was blind and sometimes wouldn't identify themselves right away when they walked into his room.

Overall, I would say a five, I am a little concerned since Emeritus has taken over. Some of the residents that have been there awhile say that there were a lot of things that have changed. They have had a fair amount of turn over, there was a waiting list of 30 and she was on the bottom but she moved up very quickly. But for me, as long as the staff seems very happy with where they are working, then that is good. Among the many things that I liked about Merrill Gardens was the long term staff. From my mother personally, I have good feedback! It has been very positive for her, everything that is happening is what we had hoped. She is getting up and going down to the dining room to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner with people. Over the other places that we visited, the floor plan lends itself to that you have to run into people. My mother just shut herself off while she was living alone, and she is normally very social, so we are so happy with these changes. She is now using the walker that she's needed for a long time because she doesn't feel self conscious about it!

My mother just loves it there. She's so happy! One of the biggest things is that it's so clean. The help and staff are so nice. She's met so many nice people that are living there. It's very close, less than 5 miles from my house. she spends at least one night a week here just to be with family. If she wants to spend another night but doesn't call them, they call me to make sure they know where she is. They are so nice about when we visit. They know you by name. I think it's the perfect sized community. It's large enough that they have everything you want to do but small enough that they know all the residents. It used to be Merrill Gardens and we're not quite as pleased with Emeritus as Merrill Gardens. The food quality went down a little bit and other minor things. My mom just needs to wait until the staff turn over clams down and then I think things will get back to normal. I would definitely rate it A+. They are very much on top of it so I feel very good about her being there.

I found Belfair Gardens a beautiful almost fairytale step back in time to the youthful years of my father. The staff is some of the most alive, vibrant and creative that I have ever met. Although my father's condition dramatically worsened preventing him from remaining at that facility, I hope that one day I might be put in such a wonderland of stimulation and joy as I found there. If you were looking for a locked ward as my father needed, this facility has a true secure set up that left me knowing with confidence that he was there and safe without question. I wish he had been able to enjoy a longer time there before his condition made him in need of a different facility but I strongly and highly recommend it.

I would give a 4.5 to everything except maybe meals.... they sound like the weakest link...I know grocery costs are very high. All around being at Brookdale North Naples has been a good experience for Mom.

[date removed] I moved in. My family and I visited 6 communities and chose Brookdale North! The pandemic caused some changes, but I continue to recommend Brookdale to my personal friends still living in their homes. Associates are outstanding and management has been considerate-good listeners and I get results.

We did have an incident with someone stealing my loved ones expensive mattress pad and they were not able to find it. I had to buy another one and the office said that they will reimburse me for it so that was very nice of them. I do think they could use some improvements with the laundry. I would absolutely recommend Barrington Terrace of Naples to others looking.

Don't be afraid to ask questions, especially if it's your first time going down this road. If I had a second go-around, I would have more specific follow-up questions after their general presentation. For example, do they have a la carte care services you can add on, manicure/pedicure, etc. The term "all-inclusive" includes only what they provide, not necessarily what you would like to see them provide. Middle management has been very cooperative, supportive and understanding, and very much in compliance. They're very receptive if you contact them with a concern. The caregivers, it depends. Some are exceptionally good, and some just do their job. But I recognize that it's a very difficult job to do, and I have tremendous empathy for them. I think the staff to resident ratio is unrealistic, even though theirs is better than the minimum required ratio. I haven't tasted the food, but it appears to be well presented, and I see no issue with portions or things of that nature. They have weekly off-campus bus trips where they go out to lunch or visit museums and a variety of places. I would like to see them do more of that, but they seem to keep the residents pretty well engaged. I just wish that some of the field trips weren't at an additional charge but instead were included in the monthly fee as part of the services. The value is good, but I would pay even more for them to do more.

The main thing residents have to look forward to is their meals. Unfortunately the food at Brookdale has a lot to be desired. The only thing we found tasty were the hot dogs .

Our time at Barrington Terrace was amazing. The staff was incredible! Very caring and attentive. The communication from the staff was constant. I feel very comfortable recommending Barrington Terrace in East Naples to everyone. My Dad was very happy in the Memory Care unit. [name removed], in charge of the unit, has an excellent team and is excellent with the guest, patients, and family.
