Senior Lifestyle - Suites

Senior Suites is a beautiful setting but we could use much improvement all over the building.

I live in this independent living community and rate it 3 stars.

She went into the city and signed the lease unbenownst to me and did it all on her own. It's an area I grew up in and I left the city over 30 years ago but she likes it there. She must be happy or she wouldn't have moved there. When I visited I didn't meet any of the staff, as far as any smells I didn't detect anything but I was pretty much out of the loop besides the initial phone call

Limited space. Rooms the size of a postage stamp! Rent based upon income and I'm still working. NOT enough room. Pets welcome.

I like that both the utilities are included

The managers are really nice. I can't rest very well because of the doors slamming all times of day and night. The building structure allows noise from upstairs and next apartment. Sound like someone is constantly dropping furniture upstairs and next door. Sound like someone is doing plumbing work in the kitchen for 3 or 4 hours every day I am cooking. I can hear them talking next door apartment. My apartment is next to the elevator and laundry room. They use the laundry room ALL DAY and NIGHT. I have complained to the manager and she said she will take care of it. I do believe she is doing the best she can. She give us a lot of activities and notices. I have confidence she will make things better. I do like living here but the noise is making me very nervous.

As soon as my Mother Saw It she knew that she wanted to live there. It was everything thing that she needed and wanted. My sister lives right around the corner, and my brother lives (7) blocks away. We visited (2) other Senior Suites, but they were not to her liking. I'm very grateful to Rachel, for her Perseverance, she was truly a delight to work with. My mother moved in this senior apartment complex on [date removed]. She was excited about regaining her independence back. The building appeared to be fairly clean. Almost [date removed] the building has taken a turn for the worst. The carpets have not been vacuumed or shampooed in over a year or so. The reason my family and I were given was because they are short staffed. This building also have a bed bug and roach infestation due to the filth in this building particularly on the 4th and 5th floor. Roaches have been found in the washing machines. Our seniors should not have to live this way. My mother's new lease due in October and of course the rent has increased. The lease stated the reason for the increase is to keep the building maintained. We have not seen any maintenance except on the first floor. My family and I would like to see all of our concerns met before the new lease is signed.

It's bad around here you have a roaches mice spiders and all other kind of bugs and especially bed bugs they don't exterminate like they should they don't fix problems in the apartment a long time it takes a lot of times I waited 9 months to get some things done and they're still not finished.

I am currently a resident at Senior Suites of Jefferson Park. This place is okay. We don't have food/meals, just a community center.

It is sad to say that no one never answer the phone nor is no one ever in the office. How can someone voice concerns if no one is available. I tried leaving voice message and the voicemail is full. Its obvious someone isn't working. I saw a review from 2017 with the same concern and 5 years later the same behavior. Please provide a callback number. As Google have given me a non working number as well.

This community doesn't seem to care for the seniors there. The maintenance did not have the resources to help get things fixed and repaired in a timely manner. I would not recommend this community to others.

I wouldn't recommend this community to others. The cleanliness of the building isn't there. Once I got in the door the management's attitude changed. There was a fire in my apartment building and I had to pay for a few days out of pocket at a hotel. The community wasn't willing to help residents with giving advice of who to reach out to. Sometimes there it takes a couple of weeks to get a maintenance or any other problem taken care of by the community. The carpet had to be replaced and they haven't replaced it yet. I now have concrete floors in the hallway in the building. I've had mice for the last 4 months in my apartment.

If no one is in the office on rent day the house keeper collects the rent. This should not be because our record should be private. I can go on and on but if something could be done about the above matters this will be a start. Hoping to receive a respond from you. Thanks in advance.

We never go to a play movie or the boat to eat or gamble to try and win our rent money. Cost of cable is from 50,00 to a 100,00. If you don’t have cable TV reception is Lousy. We have to wash our own windows, screens and blinds on the inside. There’s seldom no one in the office even on the day that rent is due.

Here at Senior Suites located at 6800S, Keating – Chicago 60629 are paying top rent 800,00 and 900,00 a month starting with $70 increase every year which was not told to us in the very beginning. There is little given to us in return. The only activities we have is Bingo and we purchase our own gifts for this.

The Senior Suites of Fay's Point is a nice and clean facility. The only issues I have is that there was a fire the other day. The freezer does not have racks. The parking is not good at all. Visitors don't have no where to park. They do a great job with their services but they are short of staff. I think they should hire more people. I would like for them to look into those issues. Other than that, This is a nice place.

The management could be much better. We are not getting what we should as a community. We are left out continually when it comes to services. It appears management does not care. We are constantly paying rent, getting nothing in return.

I'm going to have to give them a 2 right now because we set my father up to do a direct debit and the first time he had to write a check because it wouldn't go through and they charged him twice. They were really poor at resolving it, I can say the management there is not good at all. The manager ignored us and ignored my father, I had to threaten with a lawyer to get her to pay attention and even when I called the regional manager I got no response. The assitant manager is a really great guy, the facilities are great, the maintenence is great, the housekeeping is great, the facility is very nice. He's happy there with the people and the facilities but the manager is jsut not good. For the money, this was the best I could find and we needed something almost immedeatly and if this didn't even happy from the very beginning we wouldn't have had any problems.

I was very unhappy regarding cleanliness, and no professionalism at all. I saw many other places and no other place was as nasty as this one. There was a smell that I could not fathom on each floor I went to.
