My dad was in an assisted living community prior to Addington Place and began having behavioral issues. He said that they weren't taking care of the residents, which then caused him to misbehave. A lot of places weren't wiling to take him, but Addington Place did. He moved in with no issues. The other place he referred to as a "prison", but he loves it here. He's had no problems; he says they treat the residents well, takes care of them, and they really care about the people that live there. He says, "The people here are so good to me". It's a night and day difference. He's been here for a few months and I've not once received a call about him misbehaving or doing something he's not supposed to. He actually stopped doing those things. He was acting out previously because he wasn't receiving proper care. He really just loves it here, and is doing so well!

The biggest thing for us is that The Woodmark does not feel institutional at all. The units and space they allow for the residents is more like an apartment setting so we did not feel that we were just dropping our loved one off at a hospital. The staff when we come to visit are very thoughtful and always gives us snacks. They are so kind to our loved one and our family. The communication is good and we are still learning the ropes but sometimes it is lacking so that could be improved. The activities are still somewhat limited right now but based on our overall experience we would recommend The Woodmark at Uptown to other families. It is expensive but it was better priced then other communities in the surrounding area.

We definitely would consider Lowrie Place if we wanted to move my dad somewhere full time to live. The only thing that they do not offer here is memory care which is something we may need in the future. My loved one did a 2 weeks respite stay and talked about it a few days after he got home. He said he was very comfortable and that the rooms were perfect size for what he needed. The staff were all very friendly, my sister and I came to visit him a few times while he was here.

I have lived at The Breakers at Edgewater Beach for over four years and every day I am thankful for my decision to move here. I am thrilled with the stunning view from my apartment of Lake Michigan. I like the diversity of the residents and the many activities offered. There is a well-equipped fitness center, a game room, a video room with films shown daily, a swimming pool enjoyed by residents and visiting grandchildren, an impressive showroom, a library, and a dining room with a beautiful view of the outdoors. Pets (dogs and cats) are welcome here, and the building has an outdoor dog park. Rent includes use of laundry facilities and weekly housekeeping. The Breakers bus takes residents to local business and excursions to museums, concerts and gardens. Perhaps the best feature of The Breakers is the caring and helpful staff. A downside is the slowness of the elevators. I have made many friends here and strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a senior living community.

My experience has been amazing. The staff at Acclaim at East Beach have made this very difficult process a smooth transition. They have helped my parents - and myself - every step of the way.

I think what my dad likes the most about Barrington is everyone is so friendly and willing to do anything for him, (he says). When it comes to activities, they always seem to have something going on. There's always bingo, and happy hour every night with a musical guest geared towards the residents age group. The other day they took them on a putt-putt golf outing, with ice cream afterward. For Father's Day they had a social, and they brought in four trombone players. There's always something going on; if you can't find anything to do, then that's kind of on you. My dads apartment came with a fully equipped kitchen, and a washer & dryer in unit. The bathroom and shower is nice, because it comes with a built-in shower chair. The apartment is already equipped for cable and a phone, you just bring in your own furniture from home. Overall, I would highly recommend Barrington of Oakley to others.

I am very happy with Acclaim at East Beach. I have a marina outside my window. The Little Creek Navy Base next door. I am a retired Captain, U.S. Navy. A public Beach 4 blocks from my apartment. I am very happy!!

IT has been a very friendly community. In the memory care unit, she doesn't get out much. But the staff have been very welcoming and very helpful. They have lots of activities. They do exercises every morning. They do their nails and makeover kind of things. They have a hairdresser who comes in once a week. There's a nice outside courtyard where the residents are free to sit outdoors when the weather is nice. The activities director takes them on outings for ice cream and things like that. They have movie nights with popcorn. So she's very busy. They do a good job keeping the residents engaged.

We are very happy with Lowrie place! Mom is doing well! She likes everything! We are pleased!! No complaints at this time!!!

When touring this facility we found the staff and management to be very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. When we returned with mom to tour Garden Way she too really like this place. We had 3 places lined up to tour and she made the decision that here is where she wanted to be. Since she has moved in the staff takes really good care of mom. Very friendly to us when visiting. She has a cleaning person come in once a week to clean her apartment, they do laundry daily and her laundry is always done for her only. No mixing of clothing bedding ect. The only time when she was happy with the place is when they all were quarantined. She was wanting to be social. And they do have a lot of events. Very accommodating to the residents and actually the family.

I thought Somers Place was very nice. It was attractive and easy to get around. The people were very nice. The decision just came down to my loved one's personal preference.

Our family had an in person tour and the staff members are so much more prepared for memory care - we are so excited to have our loved one in.

My mother, husband and I toured Somers Place and had a great welcoming experience. We came at lunchtime and they had a really nice lunch prepared and the table was even decorated. The people who work there were very engaging and fun. I could tell if my mom were to choose to go there, she would be in good hands. Staff were great.

We chose Addington Place because they have a very high number of veterans which resonated with my dad, it is very close to my house, and the fact that they do not take Medicaid so the money he receives from VA pension remains with us which gives us flexibility if he ever needs to go somewhere else. It is amazing how much the staff know individually about their residents. For instance they all know me and call me by my first name every time I come to visit. Everyone seems to really get to know them on a personal level and it makes it feel very safe. I would highly recommend them to others and already have.

This was a lovely community. It worked out beautifully for our loved one and the experience we were looking for. The staff were good to work with and were very responsive to our questions or concerns about our loved one. The community worked well with the hospice nurses that were taking care of my loved one. The best part of Woodmark was the doctor being able to review my loved one prior to being admitted to the community. It was important to me that it didn't feel like it was in a hospital. We tried to make it feel like my loved one was in a beautiful resort or hotel room. The dining room people on the assisted living side are very friendly, flexible, and wonderful to work with. My loved one is very happy with the staff and ice cream.

Our family had an in person tour and the staff members were very very helpful, everyone we met with was fantastic. The facility itself was wonderful but we were just not interested in the memory care part of it - it was to smaller. However if she was able to live on the assisted living side we think it would of been a phenomenal place

The staff has been loving and caring—CONSISTENTLY. The facility is clean and welcoming. Always friendly and never annoyed when something is needed. I highly recommend Woodbourne Place, and really trust this facilities care. Five stars!!

Friendly staff who seem to genuinely care. It is a small community and the staff are dedicated to their residents. Very clean and welcoming facility. If I have any criticism, not really a criticism as much as a wish, it is for their to be more activities and larger outdoor area for the residents. However, I only get to see things from a distance and there could easily be more going on then I am aware of. Also, the cost, Woodbourne Place is one of the more affordable facilities in Bucks County but it is still expensive for elderly with fixed income. There is no question you get more bang for your buck here. How unaffordable assisted living or long term skilled care is in this country is more indicative of a broken system in this country. All in all.... I am very appreciative of the people behind the scenes at Woodbourne Place. They are good people and they are taking great care of my mother. I recently toured Woodbourne Place and i was very happy with the experience. The staff was friendly and engaging. The facility was clean, inviting, and bright and I came away with a sense that the staff and residents functioned like a close family. The staff seemed genuinely attentive, caring and engaged with the welfare and activities of the residents. I am giving serious consideration to Woodbourne Place as a place for my mom to begin the next phase of her life! I am confident that Woodbourne Place would a great place for that next phase to begin!
