A Place for Mom has scored Seasons Living with 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 39 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Seasons Living has 226 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.1 out of 5.
So far they are right in the middle. The room they said would be available wasn't available until a month and a half later. They may have been overly optimistic with their assessment of when it would be ready. Overall the staff is very friendly, and helpful, they seem very attentive. I haven't had any issues with the staff. It's as clean as it can be. I'm a little disappointed that it's taken so long for the room to become available. But other than that, and in the long run, I think I will be very happy with them.

They overlook a lot of things. Even though they’re supposed to be watching over the people there. They neglect things unless it’s brought to their attention – if you want something done, you have to remind them, but then they would do it. The housekeeping staff, in particular, was very lackadaisical.

We toured a lot of places and out of the ones we saw, we found Canyon Trails to be the least desirable. They were very pushy with us.

Westmont of Brentwood is probably OK for seniors who require an independent living situation or small level of assistance. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the food is good. However, Westmont is the corporate operator for an independent owner. There have been three executive directors in a year, although the current director is very good and committed. On the care side, much leaves to be desired if the resident is moderately impaired mentally or physically. Family members should carefully understand how much authority and trust they are giving the facility for medical and care decisions. Personal care assistants are minimally trained and turnover in staff is frequent. Medical technicians also receive little training, but have the authority to contact the residents' medical providers without the knowledge of the family. Ambulances are called for minor falls and illnesses, resulting in unnecessary emergency room visits, increasing the stress and costs on the families. Once at the hospital, the resident is on their own to figure out how to get home.

Most of the staff are friendly and willing to help but there's a lack of communication between different groups that have led to near critical failures. I would not recommend.

The admin and medical staff are amazing, they have resident ambassadors that help integrate new residents. The dining staff are the only issue I have. The servers are young and unfamiliar with communicating with elderly residents and the cook is fairly useless

Initially good, but three months into stay and they haven't fixed problems they promised to fix on check-in, with several reminders; had a worker using my mom's TV when she wasn't there and without permission; with left body weakness they failed to diagnose a stroke or call ambulance; and recently, a worker asked my mom to write a will to give my mom's dog to the worker

The Wheatfields is a beautiful place, however do not let the decor fool you. Yes, every tour will always be what you want to hear. The Relations Coordinator told false statements about the care she would reciever in memory care. I went to visit one time and seen they only had one r.a. on each side. The activities director then was very helpful and was always concerned about all the residents. Come to find out she no longer works there, and I could never get answers about her laundry or housekeeping complaints we had because we never seen any management back there. The activities director was always making sure she would resolve the problems and next visit she did! After having a friend of the family live there, I came to find out her medication was not giving at the right time, she feel a few times at night so that shows me overnight crew is not watiching over them. Every visit we had the activities director was very nice and i felt comfortable talking to her than anyone else. She was on top of things and they need more people like her on the floor! This place is not organized! Always short staffed, and I come to also find out that they treat the staff like crap! They get rid of the good employees, that is always why they have new management every year! Coming from a friend of the family who has a loved one there!

Have been to Westmont 3 times now. Toured the assisted living apartments and had lunch in the dining room. Was not impressed the food was terrible, I've had better tasting, quality and presentation at Black Bear Dinner. Very outdated facility. Memory care went there 2 times, just saw people sitting around. Was told both times on our visit that my parent could go there. Well then they called week later and said no he couldn't go there. Then received another call next day and said yes. At this point I questioned their LVN as to why all the going back and fourth she was apologetic but really couldn't give me any answers. I'm glad we didn't go there, because after touring other facilities, I saw the staff interacting with the people that live there. Brookdale and Sunol Creek Ridge are great facilities and they both have accepted him.

My mother-in-law lived here before we moved her to a different community, and we were not happy with the the place. They gave a great first impression, for example, they offered to help her move in all of her belongings. Once she was booked to move in, they did not keep this promise. There was a great lack of consistency and communication. We could never seem to find out what she was up to and the community failed to keep us updated often. In a matter of two years, the community had a change in management three times! We lived over three hours away, and this was difficult without a good level of communication. They even "misplaced" her wheelchair at one time. The food was also dreadful and the wait staff was awful. We ended up moving her and have been much happier since.

Staff is good but corporate management's priorities after "picture perfect" remodel and hiring of sales staff is being guestioned by staff, residents, and their families. One elevator has been working sporadically and has now been out of commission for a few months forcing patients with limited, i.e. "painful" mobility and their caregivers and family make very long walks to elevator on other side of building and back to get to dining room, lobby, activities etc. Not sure why corporate team doesn't hire an outside company to fix/replace.

Lack of staff. Unsafe conditions in open areas. No one patrols hallways and no cameras to see out of main areas. People left alone in common areas. Some fighting going on between patients because of mental problems. Patients try to go into other people's rooms to take stuff down always have to lock doors and if you cannot get back into your room you will need to wait for someone to come down the hall. Patients are left to sit in their own excrement.

The people are good people, they have a lot of activities, but the way they do their billing is not right. They don't even give you a credit when billed incorrectly. The best you get is that they will look into it and it is never approached again.

Being the first facility my mother was in, Arbor Village appeared to be well managed and the staff very friendly. As the months progressed, the negatives started adding up. Little things such as not replacing a very rusty faucet that they agreed to replace prior to signing the contract to having an employee asking my mom if they could have my mother's dog when she died and watching tv in her room when my mom was not there. Employee turnover is also a big issue at Arbor Village, which I thought was the norm until my mom moved to a different facility. However, two major issues are the most important to mention in this post. The first is when my mom experience significant weakness on one side, the telltale sign of a stroke. The nursing staff failed to identify the urgency and called me to take my mom to the doctor. I took my mom to an urgent care center and they immediately, upon hearing the symptoms, had me go to the emergency room where my mom was diagnosed as having a stroke. The second big issue was when I took my mom to the hospital with a fever. Between the time we left Arbor Village and arrived at the emergency room (approx. 10 minutes) , Arbor Village called the hospital and informed them that my mom was not allowed to come back to Arbor Village. This was on the Friday of Labor Day weekend when offices are closed, so my mom was stuck at the hospital for several days while we liked for a new place for her. Why they didn't just tell me to my face or call me directly is still a mystery. After multiple attempts, I was able to speak to [name removed], The General manager. He claimed that my mother pulled down her pants and defecated on the floor and said to the staff "clean it up, [removed]. However, I was on the phone with my mother for the majority of the 10 minute drive to pick her up and never hear anything happen. Upon arrival the staff never made mention of this occurring (which is not normal) and there was no sign (smell, wet carpet, etc.) of anything being cleaned up in the 3 - 5 minutes between when I ended the call with my mom and arrived at her room. During the phone call with [name removed], I asked why they did not tell me there were issues occurring over time and he said they did tell me. I told [name removed] that he was mistaken and was never informed of any issues. He said he was right outside of the nurses office, would look at the documentation in my mom's file and call me back. He never called me back. Over the next week I made numerous attempts to contact [name removed] by phone, he never called me back to this day, a year and a half later. When I was packing up my mom's stuff, one of the staff came to say goodbye to the dog, and I asked what happened the day I took my mom to the hospital. She told me that management told all the staff they were not allowed to say anything to me. Overall, I recommend you avoid Arbor Village, even though the cost is lower than most facilities and they allow dogs. My mother's health declined quickly after being kicked out of Arbor Village. I think a lot of her decline had to do with the emotional turmoil of being kicked out. My mom passed 6 months later.

Overall a one is appropriate if not a zero. They have not done one thing that was promised. The ambassador takes you around and introduces you to everything. There's never been one. The food is terrible, the house cleaning skills are nonexisting, the shower is so hard to get into between the bathtub and the toilet is about three inches. The bathroom is very small too small. My mom's first shower flooded her bathroom and it took 23 days to snake the drain. They have yet to come and hook up her TV. I have complained 4 times! And they just made promises that aren't fulfilled , they tell me that they got off to a bad start with her , and that they'll make it a personal quest to take care of her and still nothing happens. I want to move her anywhere besides there. And moving my mom again is not what I wanted to do, but I'm willing to do due to the fact she is not happy and it has made my life twice as difficult. She wants me there all the time and I can't do it. They have no idea of her medications and do not help with it. And I have to get prescriptions, and then they tell me they want an order with them before I can bring them in, yet they have no idea of what she's taking. On Christmas Day, I had to go get her a prescription. They charged an extra $[fee removed]. the first month due to the fact she was eating her lunches in her room cause I was setting it up, so it felt like home for her and the first week they only brought her breakfast, no lunch or dinner. I was out of town for 2 days, [date removed] and fifth and she had one meal for those 2 days breakfast, when I asked them about that They said, "that's all they knew to bring her" About starved her to death. If I could get help on finding another place I would really appreciate it. My mom doesn't like it there at all. Nor do I for that matter, they make promises and they do not keep them. The only thing they have gotten right is her laundry they pick it up on her day of the week and bring it back stacked and folded a couple hours later. The one caretaker/ maintenance asked if I had a gray (silver) truck i said yes and he made the comment "You're here all the time" because my mom is so unhappy there, she doesn't like me to leave. I come pick her up all the time to take her to eat. I do like Triston she works the front desk, she genuinely cares. And her one neighbor across the hall [name removed] has been very nice and helps with [name removed] my mom's dog.

I do not recommend the memory care part. They are under staffed and lack safety measures such as cameras in hallways and checking hallways that are away from common areas. The people are left to themselves with no care people nearby. I cannot say anything about the assisted living or senior apartments.

They could be kinder to residents. They could be more transparent in policies and procedures. They could change pull ups more frequently. They could respond with care when residents are distressed rather than ignore them. They could refrain from encouraging families to continually increase black box labeled medications until residents are merely shells to make their jobs easier
