So far we've been very happy with them. It's absolutely essential that my parents be in a place like this and they've really provided everything that we need so I would say the value is very good. My mom is doing really well there. She's really enjoyed the simulation of the staff and the events that they hold. I would say that there are some routines that they're supposed to maintain and sometimes the miss something here or there - my mom has mentioned that. The activities are great. They have fashion shows, resident art shows, they had a dance troop come through, regular bird watching activities and gardening demonstrations. There are a lot of different things going on.

I know they're starting a renovation soon. The furnishings and décor are a little outdated but the are fixing that in the renovation. The rooms are a nice size and the food is excellent. They have tai chi classes, exercise, current events, they bring in, for the holidays, different religious leaders to lead services. My dad is very happy there.

It was okay. It was a little further away from me than the other Emeritus in Garden Grove and inside their building is was really dark. The other one is nice and light which appeals to me.

I think it's probably priced pretty well. I feel like they do their job and the activities they're pretty strong on. My mom stays pretty doggone busy. she probably has more of a social life than I do now! She likes going off site, bingo, everything they do. They do all kinds of things. I think overall, given what they're working with, they do pretty well. I think sometimes they're a little overwhelmed but they do a good job. We looked at some places in Long Beach and it's just a very different environment to be in Orange County. I felt safer going there. I just thought this would be a better, more supportive place for her.

It was okay. I didn't like the set up as much as the other Emeritus location in Garden Grove. It was clean and everyone was friendly but the other location seemed like a better fit for my sister.

If they had a spokesperson or a go between between the RNs/LVNs and us because he was so far along, further along than we realized, and it wasn't like he was abled bodied so to speak, so it would have been betterr to have someone there to help. Maybe we could have paid for more care to get there, we were there such a short time we couldn't really develop that relationship. The care was good, we just didn't have enough time. The only thing that was a hint of [removed] if you're new to places you're just kind of lost, they don't have a greeter or somebody to teach you how it's all going to go down. They have somebody that sits down with you at first but he's more of the financial guy. I know more about senior communities than I ever wanted to know.

Overall it's been a very positive experience. I think the people that work there are just terrific and really care about the residents. They're actually in the process of renovating so it's kind of hectic but I saw some of what they're doing and it's going to be even nicer than it is. This is our first experience with assited living or independent living. My mother complains that the meal time is too short and too early but otherwise, her room is really very nice and the facility is nice. The staff is incredibly helpful so overall it's been very positive. Part of why we chose this is the location is very close to the UCLA medical facilities so my mom can walk to a lot of her doctors and in terms of what you can get in Santa Monica it's a tremendous value, very affordable.

Nice staff, helpful, new director is personable, well-run facility with good communication between staff and resident's family. Food is boring and repetitive.

Absolutely Wonderful! I think that they're trying hard to satisfy their guests and it's just a very positive place to be. There is an activities director that lead exercises and games and they do outings. My mom is in a wheelchair so she doesn't get on the bus much but they also provide the bus to take them to the doctor or whatever. They have religious people come in and do services or read the bible which my mom appreciates. My mom likes it pretty well. She's much happier than the last place and she's more communicative.

They're pretty good and everybody is very nice. I think it's worth the cost; can you really put a cost on taking care of your mom? They've got 36 people doing what I've been doing for the past two years by myself so I think it's worth it. My mom doesn't do what they ask her to do so it's not that they don't offer things. They do a good job of taking care of her physical needs. I can say that they offer activities but my mom hasn't participated yet because she's busy being mad about being there. They have stuff for her to do from after breakfast all the way to dinner. I saw the calender and they have bingo, knitting, crafts, exercise classes - a reasonable amount of stuff for her to do.

This would have been a great place for them......but again, they are not licensed correctly to take my parent's long term care policy....

we looked at this residence last year and were very impressed. It was my first choice, very clean, friendly and the attitude of the manager was very elder sensitive.

just right for her but no evening activities....still not sure if she can manage without one to one care at night.

Very Helpful, possibility

Liked the owner and long term employee I met very much. Like the location. Rooms/bathrooms were best I've seen in first couple days. Extremely active building, possibly overwhelming to a newcomer.
