The Community Is Good

I think the community has good staff and are taking good care of my mom. They are doing a good job. I think she is having a good experience. Everything is fine and that is good.

waiting for a reimbursement

I am not too happy with Provision Living at St Louis Hills. I am waiting for a reimbursement right now. Mom was going to move in under level 2 care but immediately needed memory care. Well, they didn't have any openings in memory care so we were unable to keep her at Provision. No one will call me back about my reimbursement. I am put out with them. It has been 3 weeks. I was going to see about getting her back in this facility when they had availability but now I am not sure since they wont even call me back. The building is old. The apartment she was going to live in was very nice though. They had new carpet and paint. They did waive the 30 day notice. I will give them that. I don't want to completely bash them.

Review for Promenade Senior Living

My dad had to go to the hospital for his legs swelling. I am not sure what caused it, he was on a low dose of Lasix at home and was under control but immediately was a problem soon after arriving there, to the point of discoloration of his leg which led to a hospital visit. He was forgotten in his room at times when they were supposed to bring him to meals. He was in memory care and he is incontinent and they were aware. The sores were healed but we are still working on getting the swelling down in his feet and legs. I think a big part of the problem was that they have mostly agency staff, and if I had a dollar for every time I heard "I don't know your dad, it's my first day, I didn't know," I would have many many dollars. I would say that it might be ok for someone who can advocate for themselves but my dad isn't able to. I wouldn't recommend memory care there.

Beautiful facility, fix your problems

Memory care leaves a lot to be desired. Other residents not in memory care very cordial and friendly. I would rate the food as fair a lot of times they are out of stuff. Weekly entertainment with piano, guitar, etc. very good bus trips to different sites. Very good laundry leaves a lot to be desired most of the staff is very helpful.

Promenade Senior Living

My mom went there in the memory care unit because of a severe uti. She was to go to the regular assisted living within a month. My mom was one of three people that had an alert button because she was aware of everything around her. On 3 different occasions in the middle of the night she fell pressed the button no one came she called my sister who could get No one one the 24 hours phone line. She had to go to promenade herself and get someone to help my mom. We were told they were working on this problem. The help they have on the memory care floor in the evening is very poor. They also said they were working on that. My sister brother and I were there everyday. One day when I was there there was a lady in the TV room with 8 other people naked from the waist up. I had to go get someone to help. They definitely need better help on the memory care floor.

Would not recommend

Extremely understaffed and not capable of a level 3. Old building which is not good for poor mobility. One elevator is usually broken. Caregivers are compassionate but button system is flawed. Upper management is uncaring and business oriented. Would not recommend this facility.

Need more staff

Location was where he wanted to be. And the price was the best we found, and completely covered by his insurance. It is an older building and has some maintenance issues. They seem to be understaffed.

Not As Expected

The location of the community was my top priority. It was close to home so I could go over there multiple times a day to visit and check on my mother. The price was acceptable. However lots of promises were made on the initial visit that were not adhered to i.e finger foods and activities were few. At the end, the hospice services were exceptional. Like many other places I'm sure, the staff was not trained and the community was very short staffed.

Needs Improvement

They are short-staffed. They were losing my loved one's things - his laundry, his dishes. We were charged for products that we never received. And I still haven't been refund yet. The entire time we were with them, I never received a bill that was correct. I had to ask four times in the last month to pay my bill, but nobody would assist me. With each incorrect bill, they told me they would let me know once they figured out. Yet they were charging me late fees, due to their errors and delays. They did end up refunding the late fees due to their error, but I was frustrated by the fact that I was being charged them in the first place. The first bill they sent me in the mail was wrong by over $10,000. The next bill, the same thing each time. Every bill was inflated by at least $1000 over what it should be. They have a $2500 community fee, which is outrageous - what does that even go towards? When I call up there, especially on the weekends, no one is there to answer the phone. I leave messages and don't receive return phone calls. When I was there in person, I would see the staff, including the director, and they would try to rush away like they didn't see me so they didn't have to talk to me - [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed], in particular. The facility looks okay, but they are totally unorganized.

My Wife was a resident of Foothill Village for a short time. The following are my observances. Property is clean and well maintained and Caregivers (Technicians) for the most part are helpful and courteous, but not Certified Medical Assistants (CMA's). Upper management is schetchy at best. Management and Finance department appear to be at the mercy of a corporate entity that does not appear to be very flexible (prorating) and slow to provide invoices. The Director of the Memory Care unit is compassionate and knowledgeable with over 40 years experience and the best part of my experience.

This facility was recommended by a neighbor who placed her mother here and says she gets very good care. Overall, it seemed a little dark inside and offered very little outdoor space. They are undergoing renovation so maybe lighter colors and new carpets will give it a more uplifting feel. It used to be a hotel so it still maintains a similar atmosphere. Staff was pleasant and kindly when they interacted with the residents. I will follow up with our neighbor for more personal insight.

Mixed experience

Our experience with Provision Living was somewhat mixed. While I think it seems like a nice enough place, and would probably work well for someone with fewer care needs, things did not work out for our loved one here. I think they oversold or overestimated the care they are able to provide, as we ended up needing to move to a higher skilled facility not long after moving our loved one here.

Not apartment type. Small room for just a small bed. Small closet. No outdoor area accessable from inside for residents to enjoy fresh air. Niccole was very nice and informative. Pleasant employees. Did not see residents involved in any activities at the time I visited.

Old building, little individual care

Not horrible, but not outstanding. My Mom's lived here since 2010. She's pretty independent, but seriously visually impaired. There is NOTHING for her to do here - no assistance of any kind for activities. (And activities are limited, to begin with - seems to be bingo and a craft now and then.) And ZERO personal attention - like someone coming to get her for the social gatherings. (It's not like she can read the notices...) I've asked - FOR YEARS - for someone to check on her in hot weather, because she gets very confused and sick in the heat. At least a dozen times I've been over there and her room was 85 degrees or more. (The units are individually controlled, and she turns off the AC when she gets "cold." Then she forgets she did that.) For an efficiency apartment, (with stained carpet and a gross bathtub) and meals - the price is ridiculous. Over $3,000 a month. And the two old, rickety elevators are hot, small and almost impossible for other residents to get a wheelchair or walker over the threshold.
