I would have to give every category a 5. We are very happy with everything. I have yet to see a crabby face, smiles all around. Very helpful and meals are good. Kept very clean.

Not As Expected

The location of the community was my top priority. It was close to home so I could go over there multiple times a day to visit and check on my mother. The price was acceptable. However lots of promises were made on the initial visit that were not adhered to i.e finger foods and activities were few. At the end, the hospice services were exceptional. Like many other places I'm sure, the staff was not trained and the community was very short staffed.

Needs Improvement

They are short-staffed. They were losing my loved one's things - his laundry, his dishes. We were charged for products that we never received. And I still haven't been refund yet. The entire time we were with them, I never received a bill that was correct. I had to ask four times in the last month to pay my bill, but nobody would assist me. With each incorrect bill, they told me they would let me know once they figured out. Yet they were charging me late fees, due to their errors and delays. They did end up refunding the late fees due to their error, but I was frustrated by the fact that I was being charged them in the first place. The first bill they sent me in the mail was wrong by over $10,000. The next bill, the same thing each time. Every bill was inflated by at least $1000 over what it should be. They have a $2500 community fee, which is outrageous - what does that even go towards? When I call up there, especially on the weekends, no one is there to answer the phone. I leave messages and don't receive return phone calls. When I was there in person, I would see the staff, including the director, and they would try to rush away like they didn't see me so they didn't have to talk to me - [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed], in particular. The facility looks okay, but they are totally unorganized.

This facility was recommended by a neighbor who placed her mother here and says she gets very good care. Overall, it seemed a little dark inside and offered very little outdoor space. They are undergoing renovation so maybe lighter colors and new carpets will give it a more uplifting feel. It used to be a hotel so it still maintains a similar atmosphere. Staff was pleasant and kindly when they interacted with the residents. I will follow up with our neighbor for more personal insight.

Mixed experience

Our experience with Provision Living was somewhat mixed. While I think it seems like a nice enough place, and would probably work well for someone with fewer care needs, things did not work out for our loved one here. I think they oversold or overestimated the care they are able to provide, as we ended up needing to move to a higher skilled facility not long after moving our loved one here.

Not apartment type. Small room for just a small bed. Small closet. No outdoor area accessable from inside for residents to enjoy fresh air. Niccole was very nice and informative. Pleasant employees. Did not see residents involved in any activities at the time I visited.

Disappointed

I would not recommend them for long term. The room sizes were kind of small. The food was adequated. My mom was in the dementia unit The staff did not understand the residents and they did not have enough staff.

Old building, little individual care

Not horrible, but not outstanding. My Mom's lived here since 2010. She's pretty independent, but seriously visually impaired. There is NOTHING for her to do here - no assistance of any kind for activities. (And activities are limited, to begin with - seems to be bingo and a craft now and then.) And ZERO personal attention - like someone coming to get her for the social gatherings. (It's not like she can read the notices...) I've asked - FOR YEARS - for someone to check on her in hot weather, because she gets very confused and sick in the heat. At least a dozen times I've been over there and her room was 85 degrees or more. (The units are individually controlled, and she turns off the AC when she gets "cold." Then she forgets she did that.) For an efficiency apartment, (with stained carpet and a gross bathtub) and meals - the price is ridiculous. Over $3,000 a month. And the two old, rickety elevators are hot, small and almost impossible for other residents to get a wheelchair or walker over the threshold.

Do not recommend - staffing is the main issue

We have to visit my loved one all the time and repeatedly ask the staff for things he needs help with, like changing his adult diapers more frequently... While the facility is clean, the rooms bathrooms are frequently dirty. They are so understaffed is ridiculous. Some of the staff really cares but many have left or are leaving. The memory floor has more than 20 patients and many of them are in wheelchairs and frequently there's only 2 caregivers there, the most 3. The owners are aware of the situation but nothing changes Administration staff is not visible and they pretend they don't see you whenever they see family members The room is always hot, apparently the AC has been fixed but still the same issue Activities aren't geared to memory care patients

Review for Promenade Senior Living

I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone. We picked this community because of the location and they allowed smoking, which they don't any more.I'd like to add that the management was horrible. They had severe staffing issues. They bullied my dad. They also refused to order his meds and my dad went without for three days.

Visit Your Loved One Daily!!

Well, you WILL be told upon admission that your loved one will get wonderful care and you won't need to worry about the care, just come and visit, no worries. Far from the truth. I had nothing but problems, from no forks to eat with to No help with cutting up food to no one checking on patients at night. I had a camera so I know how bad it was. Really I have nothing good to recommend to anyone.

My review of Charter Senior Living of St. Louis Hills

When we went to go visit our loved one we had noticed their room was was dusty and had crumbs all over so house keeping had not been there for awhile. We had to go down and ask for a broom to clean up their ourselves. However the meals there are excellent, and the activities are still pretty limited. The value for cost is not very good considering what we are paying and what they are doing, they have such a high turnover rate.

Subpar Care for Dementia Patient

My father is in memory care and he is showered less than once a week. His floors are usually dirty. I guess if you don't mind your love ones smelling like sour milk when you visit, this is the place for you.

Adequate care when fully staffed. The director is unethical.

It is a poorly managed facility. The staff that give care are kind and compassionate. The nurse is overwhelmed and unorganized. The executive director is a cold and not compassionate in my experience. The way she handled herself in our situation was unprofessional. The senior living counselor was the one bright light in the whole facility

Holiday Nightmare

My husband was here for respite care between Christmas and New Years. We discussed all his care needs during interview. 1. Three falls in four days, last one resulted in hospital stay for a week. 2. Sent to hospital in a depends, shirt and socks. Ummmm yes New Years weather. After 3rd fall with bruise on head and scrapes on back. 3. Was not notified after first fall He called. I finally reached someone that afternoon. 4. Call buttons in bedroom and bathroom did not work. VERIFIED by aide. Was told to only use pendant, should have been moved to another room. 5. Was not given meds New Years day. 6. Was told there was no sign of him calling on the call pad. Well someone diffently should have checked on him based on my emails of directions and first fall. Was given full refund. Glucose monitor not returned. Beautiful place.Need new management and accountability. Rest turned into nightmare. Unacceptable especially for the cost.

poorly run facility

The administration here are not capable. They don't address issues of residents. The food is inedible. They can't find anyone who can cook and run the kitchen. When confronted, they say the issue has been addressed. New chefs are here for a day then gone. I don't think they've eaten the food and if they have and they like it, so much for taste buds. They don't communicate among each other or with the staff. Basically, the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. The staff is overworked, under payed and under staffed. Housekeeping is atrocious. Sometimes it's an hour or longer to receive care. Equipment doesn't always work and there's no suitable back up. If someone would ask me about this place, I'd tell them to run.
